My first visit yesterday for a Sunday roast 😊 What a great place, lovely and friendly staff. They were very busy but didn't forget us at all. Great food to, I had the pork which was amazing, hubby doesn't enjoy a roast as much as me & my son does so he had a 1/2 size one, which they were perfectly fine with. Will definitely be returning .....thanks The Duke 👍🏼😊

I love this place. Sat outside in the beer garden with a lovely half. They have plenty of ales on tap, more than other local pubs. Weather was sunny and that always helps!
Rebecca and the staff team are friendly and awesome and the atmosphere is wonderful. The kind of pub you'd want to bring your family AND mates to!!!
The beers are kept well they have great specials on Ales.
The food is incredible!!! One of the best steaks I've had in a long time.

Fabulous brunch today with family. The Ham Hock Hash was divine with side of mushrooms all washed down with a cheeky Bloody Mary. Definitely will give back to sample other menus.
Really good pub in Wanstead!
Come here for lunch on a Saturday and will repeat. Dog and baby friendly too - baby changing facilities also staff was very attentive/friendly with our son.
A nice outdoor area to the rear which is covered to keep cosy and a BBQ spot in the summer.
Food was surprisingly good.
The duke is a great spot for a sunny afternoon! The space is great as Inside is cosy and outside has a really nice vibe- I’d love to see some live music there this summer to really seal the deal!
The day staff are lovely - though I always find the evening staff a little rude.
I think the food is some of the better pub grub you can find in Wanstead. Slightly elevated menu with a range of unique options but still quite reasonably priced as the ingredients feel quality.
I recommend the Caesar chicken and bacon sandwich (pictured) which really was fresh and delicious (though not available after 4 I believe) the mushrooms on toast and the Mac and cheese are also lovely.
Though I haven’t tried them, the burgers look good as does the steak.
I recommend popping in if you’re looking for a nice pub in Wanstead at lunchtime I’d choose this place over some of the others.

I loved the pub and the vibe. Two main rooms one for family dining and one for pints and sports.
Awesome food, some of the best tasting things I've had this side of the pandemic.
Portions are huge, the lamb shank for example could feed 2 or 3 comfortably.
The sides are delicious. Thoroughly recommend.
Somewhat eclectic pint choices, but it has Leffe on draft ‼️ Been in London for a long time and I've never seen that - Belgian vibes.
I've been to the Duke for lunch, drinks and Sunday lunch. Always great. The food especially is fab. Service is consistently good. And a few cocktails which are worth a try too.
Was checking it out. Had a fish burger and my husband had a burger and fries, he said it was very good. Mine was as well. They were doing a End of summer BBQ that day.

Had the Sumday roast menu. Very good on the whole. Arancini good, burrito a bot runny and the bread was chewy, mushrooms on toast nice but not very hot. Roasts very good - 3 of us had the pork belly and had an enormous amount of meat - maybe due to being last orders of the day. Good crackling. Beef very good.
Nice local pub away from the busier high street. Very cosy feel inside with a spacious beer garden that has a covered tarpaulin roof and heaters in the winter. The food here is very good.
Brilliant pub if, like me, you like a quiet location and atmosphere with great beer and food. Lovely outside area. Very clean throughout.

Nice hidden gem down the side turnings of Wanstead, very clean, lovely atmosphere, sercice good & prices okay, very popular with small family, groups & wedding reception dinners & drinks...
The Duke never fails to please with its gourmet pub menu, excellent wine selection, and a fantastic selection of beers. The Guinness is spit on, and that is high praise coming from a very fussy Irishman!
Excellent bavette steak, could have done with a smidgen of salad. One mediocre ale and one good one. Recommend
Lovely pub with nice family friendly warm vibes - we had Sunday roast here and it was delicious. We had two kids with us and they catered for us well. Nice outside bit which is good for summer, but covered over for colder weather. A short walk from Snaresbrook tube and Wanstead high street :)
Excellent local pub with very good food.
Went for Sunday lunch and food was delicious. Lots of families and children, all well behaved but if this isn't your vibe it's not for you.
