A good place servibg up some Canadian cuisine, really liked the food from here.
Loved the Cgicken wings and the Sticky wings from here; really good and really fresh they were, too good indeed to have!
Nice experience if you are in the mood for Canadian food.
I like their poutine! It's a good and casual place. The location in covent garden is behind the main strip and crowd and not to visible but it makes a less hectic experience.
Good place for once in a great while visit but not an everyday craving.
Found this Canadian bar by chance when I was in Covent Garden. Had a quick dinner of burger & chips in this sports bar before heading up the Arsenal game. Pleasent food, would definitely go again.
Home away from Home. The Quick and Easy Review
*Pros*
1) Canadian beer on tap
2) Friendly Staff
3) Pretty Good Food
4) Great Atmosphere
*Cons*
1) Bit too expensive for what it is
*Final Thoughts*
Fun place to spend an evening!
Great beer, Real Ceasars with Clamato! Decent food.... Worst music ever.... Super "friendly" bartender named Chantrelle? Definitely recommend - just make sure you've got coins for the jukebox to put on some decent tunes!
Lively bar - never tried the food!!
Last year, I stumbled on “a small piece of Canada in the heart of London” and have been pretty obsessed ever since. The Maple Leaf is a sports bar on a side street near Covent Garden and whenever I’ve been, it’s been fairly quiet but apparently it gets packed on NHL game nights as well as for the Super Bowl and other NFL games. The background music is a strange mix of Britney and Shania Twain which suited me down to the ground but I’m not sure that my boyfriend felt the same way!
The menu is full of Canadian classics including poutine which is melted cheese and beef gravy slathered over chips, sticky wings and mixed grills. My boyfriend opted for a Molson beer and we shared some nachos topped with nacho cheese sauce, guacamole, salsa, jalapeños, soured cream and chilli beef, getting really messy in the process. We sat back and relaxed while the Ottawa Senators played the Boston Bruins in the background and I pretended that I knew what I was looking at.
Once the nachos had settled, we ordered a Maple Leaf combo which came with Southern Fried chicken skewers, breaded mushrooms, corn dogs, garlic ciabatta, corn on the cob and onion rings with garlic mayo and HP smokey BBQ sauce on the side. You order any drinks or food at the bar so all the staff have to do is bring it to you so make sure you're not sat around waiting for someone to take your order!
If you’re looking for somewhere chilled out with no nonsense food and a friendly atmosphere then The Maple Leaf is for you!

+3.5
In a fit of nostalgia, I decided to try out the Maple Leaf, Covent Garden's Canadian Pub!
Ambiance: 4.0
The Maple Leaf definitely gets the quintessentially Canadian vibe down (though it still feels English at the same time... actually I guess that captures Canada in a way!) Greens and reds paint the walls and decor, mini maple leaf bunting hangs along the ceilings, Moosehead beer decor (Moosehead Beer is actually made in my part of Canada, so brownie points for that!) and hockey memorabilia pops up wherever you look... though I'm really more of a Habs fan than a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. . . Sorry, Toronto!
Service: 3.0
Good, friendly service, but not as friendly as you get in Canada! (Maybe I'm a tad biased!)
Food: 3.0
Pretty generic pub food to be honest. We had the hot wings, which were tasty, but not as spicy as hoped. Having a nice Moosehead Beer was pretty great, though!
Final Verdict: 3.5, but maybe just a 3.0 if you're not a nostalgic Canadian!
Best margaritas in town. Gets busy so get there early if you want to get a seat. Good Mexican style food to soak up the cocktails.
Love the atmosphere. It’s not often you get that North American vibe in a restaurant in London. Good comfort food and nicely spaced pub. The food is solid, but I wouldn’t call it breathtaking. They also have TVs displaying fun sports and it genuinely feels like a causal pub you can actually relax and chat in.
Lovely little slice of Canada in London! Friendly staff, delicious, amazing food, little wait time, well decorated and plenty to choose from both in good and drink. Definitely recommend a visit!
If you want to have a cheat meal but not sure what to eat then I would recommend coming here to Maple Leaf for just drinking good enough beer and good enough food for a ridiculously great price.
Trust me if you want to enjoy the taste of food then I recommend somewhere else. But if you want to drink a lot of beer and just chat and then have something tasty and filling to go along with it, then yes do try this pub.
We came here because my wife and I never had Canadian beer and Poutine. We always wanted to try and found the only place in London that got all this.
So with that expectation we were really happy. I am sure no pure blood Canadian would ever consider the poutine here as that great but for first timers this place did good. Additionally the 3 starters for 13 pounds was a great deal. Their southern fried fish tacos were amazing. The karaage and baos were good too.
I went to the Maple Leaf to enjoy two games of football on a super Sunday. This pub is great for watching sport with a good atmosphere and a diverse crowd. I saw families, groups and individuals all enjoying themselves in this pub.
There are so many screens and is a great place to watch sport in this central location.
To top it off, there is a great selection of drinks and there’s poutine!!
Went here to celebrate 30 years of living in Canada!
Food was great as was my beverage. Service was top notch.
I come here every time I'm in London. My last visit was on Canadian Thanksgiving. They had a special menu and it was DELICIOUS! The staff is always amazing!
We had a good meal here. One of the staff was actually Canadian. Many options for the non meat eaters and the non-drinker. There are a few Canadian options on the menu.
Situated in Covent Garden this is like stepping into another country. The decoration and vibe of the place adds to an overall authentic Canadian feeling. Usually showing a range of different sports for entertainment; although can get loud at times. I’ve always wanted to try a classic poutine; which was mediocre given the price point. However the range of beers on tap; particularly the “maple leaf lager” is a favourite of mine!
Stopped in for a snack and a beer. We had the nachos and they were very good 👍, even for a Canadien bar. LOL (we are Boston Bruins fans 😎)
Watched the Canadian GP here. Nice space, clean and spacious and it's very easy to see a TV for sport. The poutine and wings were good
