Wasn't expecting much from this place; it kind of works like a Subway but for burritos. As it turns out, the food is awesome - great portions for great value and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend the chicken quesedilla (after 3pm)!! Will definitely be back.
My husband and I frequent this place on a regular basis and are never disappointed. This evening I was reminded that there are still good people out there. Tonight at Tortilla a boy walked in, looking like he had the world on his shoulders.
He went to the counter and asked what he could get with the money he had.. Once the server understood that the boy didn't have enough money to pay for a meal, without missing a beat, he asked the boy what he wanted, made up the order and proceeded to pay for the remainder of the meal out of his own pocket. When I offered to pay for it, he declined.
A very big thank you to Alae Nahhan for being a fantastic individual!
The management at Tortilla Wimbledon should be very proud.

A quick bite of lunch or dinner . Tortilla is the place where you can get good large and healthy bowl or burrito with all your standard Mexican favouriteS.
I personally love their line and coriander base with all my normal veggie toppings. I also enjoy a squeeze of extra lime over my food. A good lunch or dinner in 7 pounds .
For my money, Tortilla is the best chain burrito joint in London - better than either Chilango or Chipotle; not only are the burritos delicious but the Tortilla format provides far greater scope than most other places to choose exactly what you want in it and how hot you want it to be. This, combined with tortillas on the side, a very extensive selection of sauces at different levels of heat, and a range of cold Sierra Nevada beers, makes for the perfect lunchtime snack.
Does exactly what it says on the tin, they say they serve the best tortillas in London and they are right.
Tasty, hot, simple it's a combination that works perfectly well and it's very reasonable and filling give it a go you will not be disappointed.
Top tip :- barbecoa,Mexican rice, lime and cilantro, sour cream and cheese with hot salsa
As restaurants go this is not your typical restaurant, there’s no table service to start with. It’s not strictly speaking a fast-food joint either, they have a liquor license. It is in fact a Taqueria, somewhere that specialises in tacos and burritos as well as selling margaritas and bottled beer. The chain was established in 2007 with the first branch opening in Islington. It’s flagship store, and one to be proud of, is the newly opened branch at The Strand. This chain is not what is normally expected of a traditional Mexican. It relies strongly on the background of its founders who wanted a taste of home, that is a mix of California-Mexican foods and atmosphere. I rocked up to the Wimbledon branch midweek for a late lunch. The decor is warm, Mexican music is being piped through the speakers and the smells? I think i just died and went to Me-hee-co heaven. So this is how it works. You go to the counter and choose a burrito, fajita or soft-shell taco, choose your meat, choose your salad and toppings and grab a cold drink from the bar. I chose a steak burrito but looking back I should have been more adventurous and gone for the pulled pork or shredded beef. I also had sides of black beans, tortilla chips and guacamole, ok so I was hungry! My drink? Why a margarita of course. The burrito was a big size for a ‘regular’, I ended up taking half home. The salads and toppings are fresh and well portioned. Tortilla chips are pretty much the same as anywhere, but the guacamole was something else. Big thick chunks of avocado and not overly spiced. I do like spice in my burritos so on the tables you’ll find a bottle of extra special spicy sauce native to Mexico. Be warned, it has a kick! The margarita comes from a slushy machine, as is the norm for a Taqueria, and is made using a margarita mix. It is served with salt on the rim thank goodness and tastes great but is not overly strong. All in all this is a great place to meet with some friends and relax in a vibrant setting whilst eating some good honest food. Alternatively it is also family friendly so the kids are well catered for too. Lunchtime tends to the office crowd grabbing a quick bite blending into the evening session which sees more families and groups of friends enjoying the convivial atmosphere. With quality, value for money Mexican fare, a margarita and friendly service what more could you want? Oh yes, one to open in my neighbourhood please.
It was a weekend was at odeon watching a movie with friends and evening show. We planned to visit Tortilla and try their yummy Spanish food after the movie. It was nearly their closing time but the staff welcomed us without hesitation and greater us well.
We chose this Spanish wrap and tortillas. The green thick sauce they use is simple delicious with a hint of spicy sauce.
While making the payment the Person at the till got a little confused regarding my question to him about accepting card payment. I had to go out to an ATM to withdraw cash. It was all a misunderstanding as they did accept card payment. Acceptin his mistake in understanding he served us a free portion of nachos. That was very nice of him.
Quite a busy place on a saturday night but the level of service didn't falter.
We went for drinks and nachos, we were served quickly even though it was quite busy, their margaritas are delicious and prices are pretty good too. The staff were friendly and helpful and pretty efficient at making sure the queue moves quickly with as less chaos as possible.
We managed to secure a table so we decided to stay in, the ambience was fun and lively, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The burritos looked amazing, though i didn't have one i would definitely go back, maybe at a different time when its not so busy.
When I moved to London 8 years ago from NYC, Mexican food in this city was average at best. Thankfully, things have changed since then and we are now spoiled for choice with excellent and authentic options.
Tortilla is the place to go for the best burrito in town. The ingredients are fresh and the taste always consistent. Service is efficient and the queue moves quickly. Tortilla Wimbledon gets quite busy and crowded in the evening so it's not my favourite place to dine in but thankfully, they do takeaways to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
In addition to burritos, Tortilla also offer a carb free naked burrito (without rice/wrap) as well as tacos. The guacamole is delicious too. Love Tortilla!
Although I’ve had deliveries from Tortilla before, this is the first time I’ve actually dined it. Place was clean and with plenty of seating.
I always tend to go for the bowl, which never lets me down. I love that you can choose what to put together and therefore it can suit all types of diet requirements.
Service is quick and the pricing is reasonable.
I went with a big group of friends for lunch here and oh my goodness what an experience! The food was great, the atmosphere was so pleasant and we had the best welcome ever! George, Carla and Rena were absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond for us. Everyone in our group loved it and we are already planning another visit together here. You guys are the best! Thank you!
My group and I loved our lunch at tortilla Wimbledon. George, Carla and Rena were so lovely. They served us with a smile on their faces and did everything to make our time there pleasant. The restaurant was clean and the food absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely come again.
Super fresh ingredients and very tasty food. Large chicken bowl for under £10 is a massive portion size and will leave you full. Carla, who prepared my order, was very helpful and friendly.
Really enjoy going to this place. Food is always tasty and really like the atmosphere/decor.
Been there both with family and on my own and same experience. Staff are helpful and efficient.
I went to the restaurant for lunch before going to the theatre. One of my favourite places to eat healthy food.
A great quick lunch spot. A burrito with a drink and a snack to share comes at £10 per person.
The burritos are freshly cooked. There is about 10-15min waiting time. You can place the order on their website in advance and just come to collect it or have it when it’s almost done.
The churros were hard and overly sweet. Don’t recommend and won’t order it again.
Other than that, everything is great and will come back when a quick lunch is needed.
I love Tortilla as one of the fresher fast-food options in Wimbledon. Always friendly staff in here. The portion sizes are spot-on for the pricing, with no expense spared on flavour!
Every time without fail these girthy burritos fill my happy stomach, transporting me back to a simpler time. May the lord bless the talented workers and cooks who concoct these masterpieces with such consistency.
Bit expensive.
I loved the food here. I tried the Vegetarian Nachos and Vegetarian Rice Bowl. It was delicious. This place is reasonable too and worth it. Definitely recommend it.
