First time shake-shack try-er!
Had the Crispy Shallot Burger (Vegan) and it was so so good! REALLY YUMMY. Solid 10/10. I am not vegan and bought this burger feeling intrigued by the interesting contents of the burger. I paired it with cheesy fries- which were pretty good too - crispy, crinkle cut, cheesy fries. YES. Would order again. For all the vegans out there- HIGHLY RECOMMEND! đđŸ My friend ordered the beef hot dog! She said it was really good! There is LOADS of space to sit and eat! And we were served fairly quickly. They do pretty good crowd control so you order in one place and walk over to the collection point with your buzzers.

So each time I head down to London, I always make a point of stopping of at the infamous shake shack for the amazing vegetarian menu! The shroom burger is the only thing Iâve had, itâs because itâs so nice Iâve never had the need to try anything else.
The atmosphere and service is ok just really busy, giving the fact that itâs located in the heart of Covent Gardenâs (the branch I normally go to, there are a few more dotted around London) its always hard to find a seat.
Selin Karagöl
We had tried hamburgers and chips with chili and cheese sauce for meals, beer and half raspberry half lemonade for drinks. We love it. Negative aspect was you have to wait a little bit due to find a place to sit :(
Sara B
I got the Chicken Shack being the only halal option, and it never disappoints! One of the best chicken burgers in my opinion. Thereâs a large seating area in the centre with a refillable sauce station. Definitely recommend đ
Jtan Styla
This shake shack has huge outdoor seating allocation placed right in the centre of Covent Garden. there are two parts to it, placing an order and then going outside and to the next plot to collect your order. their smash burgers are as good as ever.

Today, the weather was lovely so I went for a walk during lunch time. Shake Shack Covent Garden has such a nice location and outside space to eat. Had a chicken burger đ with chips and coke đ€€. Delicious. Great service guys đ.
Marcus
Quick service, food was genuinely 11/10. One of the best burgers I've had in my life, juicy and sweet but not damp just fantastic. Doubling down is a must for the burger. The chicken bites were fantastic, not too breaded and want more even as I type this. Can't go wrong eating here, good outdoor area and indoor area too. Everything in my photo came to ÂŁ20.10, 10 chicken pieces and a double down smokeshack burger.
Florian Moos (flm)
Better double check your order when you receive it. There's always a lot going on so the chances are high that they mess up your order. But they all do their best in the rush hour and you'll get the correct or missing items in minutes!
Food quality is shake shake good
Supphawich S. (Edy)
The food was served quickly and conveniently, and the quality was good overall, although a bit too salty for my taste. There are plenty of seats available both indoors and outdoors, and the staff were okay. Overall, it's a great place for a quick bite to eat.
Sabrina BermĂșdez
Shake Shack for me is always a safe option if I'm looking for something simple and good. In London it didn't fail me either. The food was really good. The logistic is a little more complicated than it should be in my opinion. You order in one place and then you have to go to the space across the hall to get your food. There is always a lot of people so if there is more than one of you get someone to save a seat while the other waits for the food. In general terms, food great for logistics could do a better job

Very nice burgers, very tasty with good quality, I also like their milkshakes

The only place Id eat chicken burgers âŠItâs extremely delicious and the itâs located in the heart of Covent Garden so itâs lush especially in the summer , u can enjoy by sitting outside , l really loved the food the weather helped a lot so itâs beautiful when the weather is nice in Covent Garden ,service was fantastic. Iâd defo come back as this is not my first time and of course not last time.

Burger tastes really fresh. Onions are nicely caramelised along with it.
Chips are actually built different. Crinkle style cut gives more surface area and is actually crispy.
I don't understand why they put the extra fillings in a separate container, waste of plastic really.
You may sit in the seatings nearby but do be warned of pigeons. Relentless and will take your food or even take a dump on it.
Sean Knittle
Quick and easy food, nice covered location to sit and eat while enjoying covent garden musical performers. Fries always a bit cold, donât seem fresh, but everything else is good.
Ally
My favourite fast food burger. A must when I travel to London. Staff is lovely but there is unfortunately a long waiting time and the restrooms are terribly dirty.
Kate Rooney
Food is really nice although portion sizes are maybe a bit too small but that may just be my judgement. Also I completely understand that it gets very busy and the staff are doing their absolute best but speed of service is somewhat a bit on the slow side!
Rebecca Worship
Absolutely delicious but portion size is too small for the amount you pay! 2 burgers and a portion of chips cost ÂŁ22 and still was hungry!
Chris Kerger
Very expensive for what you get I ordered the largest hotdog they had and when it arrived I thought they had given me a child's portion. A very small basic hotdog that came in a finger bun with very little relish and dressing and that cost just under ÂŁ6 I didn't even have fries.... Very disappointing I will not eat there again...
Cheryl Salter
Very expensive for next to nothing. 2 cheese burgers, 2 portions of chips ans 2 cokes was ÂŁ23. Burgers were small and everything was cold. Very disappointing. Will never eat there again. Would certainly not recommend it to anyone.
Steve Dunn
Absolutely the worst burger place in London. Worse then macdonalds. 100x worse than 5 guys. Wilson the manager needs to go on a customer service course. No idea. I'll be taking this to the CEO before the end of the day.
Dominic Lehane
Great food very welcoming staff .in a Nice food court and Dogs welcomed too u can even buy the treats off the menu
Maria Diaz Ojeda
Too slow and very poorly organised, if you are in a hurry or you want something quick to eat donât bother with this place, when it arrived 25 mins late it was cold! ïżœ
Stuart Dowsen
Waited half an hour for our order - as compensation they gave us one free doughnut between 6 of us
Burgers and fries were colnot impressed especially with the price
Emma Hopkinson
Well went to have some ice cream! Was recommended this place! was really looking forward to this! I asked for 2 flavours, got told that they couldn't do that! WHAT! How is it so difficult u put one scoop of one flavour in! Followed by another scoop of the second flavour!!! I won't be going back! The service was poor as well!

The best burgers in the uk ïżœ ïżœ can't wait for more to open rather than just in London

I was at Shake Shack LONDON, UK, LEICESTER SQUARE on 8 Dec 2017. I'm still troubled by the hygiene awareness that the company impart to its employees, especially when working in a food industry. I saw this crew clearing the table with this blue hand gloves. Next, he went on to press the trash with the same hands. Then he went on to take the menu and pass it to the diners in the queue. While doing that he accidentally bump onto a diner in the queue, and he used his right hand (with same blue gloves) pat him on the shoulder to signal apology. Finally, he went on to collect a handful of disposable cutlery to fill up into the empty container. Does he know he's working in a restaurant? Did he understand hygiene, contamination and food poisoning?

Amazing place in London. I love the food. canât wait to come back here again. Congratulations to the staff.

This was one of my first place I visited in London. The staff was not that cordial as I expected.<br/>They only had one mushroom burger as an option for vegetarianâs which doesnât make sense for a city that has so many vegetarians. The price of the burger was also approximately 5 GBPâs n the quantity very less for one person.<br/>Wonât recommend this place, rather the area has better burger places so try that instead.

Awesome burger place. So delicious , filling and indulging . The ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful and the service is prompt and punctual as well. Highly recommended.

ou queue on one side to order and pick up on the other side. It works well and there is enough space to sit outside. The burger was delicious. The fries good.. But the fries with cheese ... So special! I would recommend especially for the friendly staff. The older staff also were very chatty and welcoming

The long awaited visit to Shake Shack. Given there arenât any on this side of the world I was very excited to try it (seemingly so were a lot of people given the huge line to both order and collect) and maybe the anticipation was too high but I have to say it really wasnât anything to write home about. A good burger to be sure but nothing life changing and certainly pricey for what it was
Alisha
Been to this location a lot of times and it is always extremely crowded. They have a lot space to sit for diners which is great. Food is excellent as always. I do miss the Shake Shack in the US which was definitely better, but I will still give this all the stars as the food is just amazing!
SNIGDHARANI PANDA
I had been craving for crinkle fries at Shake Shack since NYC so had to visit here on the first opportunity available. I was a little disappointed with the burger and the portion size as it is much better at NYC. However, my disappointment was overshadowed by their amazing patent crinkle fries!
Krishna Kasturi Kataki
This is lovely pet-friendly place that even has 2 options for your pooch to munch on while you're enjoying one of the glorious burgers or hotdogs.<br/>We had tried the Shackmeister burger and Shackmeister Sausafe which were both incredibly yummy.<br/>Especially loved the ale marinated shallots that came along with each order.

I visited this place month during my trip to London. My friends suggest this restaurant to some delicious burgers and fries. I wasn't disappointed at all. I tried the cheeseburger with added bacon, hot dog and cheese fries. Absolutely loved everything i tried. Hope to visit this place again soon.

Lovely little restaurant with a great space in the back where you can enjoy a drink. We were there on a day when they had live jazz music. Not sure if this happens often but was played with good volume and a very happy crowd.

One of the finest burger places all over the world! Tried their Shroom Burger and i was in heaven. If you are a mushroom fan, you will totally enjoy the flavours and one burger is good to keep your appetite in check! Would love to see more vegetarian options on the menu.

One of the best burguers I had in the last few months. Loved the sauce and also the fries. Prices are ok, although I think that fries are a bit overpriced. Get ready to wait a bit but service is fast.
Aryan Pathak
Very good tasting burgers and fries if over priced. However good small portion size for lunch just needs to 1/3rd cheaper! Very good taste but disappointed they didn't ask me how I like it done. I personally like it well done and it was medium as best. A bit expensive for what it is.

After strolling for long in Covent garden, went to Shake shack and tried their *Shroom Burger* which is the only vegetarian option available.<br/>Made with Portobello mushrooms which were filled with oddles of melted cheese was filling.<br/>It was cheesy, crispy and juicy all at the same time.<br/>I also had their Crinkle cut cheddar cheese fries which were crispy and cheddar was a bit sour in taste which I totally loved.<br/>Huge amount of sit out area is there with an option of self serve.<br/>In the lunch time or even at late afternoon's you'll find a queue even if it's a small one.<br/>Overall a good place to grab a quick bite and option for vegetarians like me is also available.<br/>Must visit!<br/>Shagun Gogia<br/>

This is a great place to go ahead for an Asian meal. The food is awesome with a bery reasonable price. They have got a great variety of food and the papadoms that they serve are great. There is a crunch of space inside though but it doesnt count as the overall experience was very nice.<br/><br/>Do visit them for authentic Asian food.

Food took quite a long time to come and when it did it was cold. Had to send it back so they could change it. Tasted nice when it came second time round, it is expensive for the size of the burger.

Always crowded! However, it is quite normal that this one is quite popular, since you can enjoy the atmosphere of Covent Garden when eating your Shackburger.

You know the type, loud as a motorbike<br/><br/>But wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight<br/><br/>( #jayz â 99 problems)<br/>** This review is for the Victoria branch ***<br/><br/>Iâve been saving those lines for a lyrics for a particular type of burger. Read on to find out why.<br/><br/>I recently found myself at London Victoria station, with a hunger larger than what Queen Victoria had for ruling the world. A quick browse of Google Maps showed me I was around the corner from @shakeshackuk ; somewhere that has a worldwide hype about it, and jaw dropping pictures; so here I was, standing in queue deciding what to have. I got a double Shackburger â 2x beef and cheese, lettuce, tomato, shacksauce, and I added the Applewood smoked bacon - ÂŁ12<br/><br/>#meat ok, this is entirely my opinion, but nevertheless I need to be honest. The beef is only marginally better than the cardboard you get at McDonalds. There is no flavour to the meat, not even the seasoning came through, it was chewy, dry, and overcooked. I saw them grilling the patties on the grills with my own eyes but tasted like theyâd be sitting under a hot lamp for 2 hours! The bacon was so hard that the only way I can describe it is like biting into a credit card! The cheese has a very processed and artificial taste, reminiscent of five guys. The only real saviour between the buns was the Shacksauce, its tangy with a mellow creaminess to it, and worked great at masking the poor meat quality.<br/><br/>#bun not a bad bun, it was soft and pillowy, and grilled just right. The crust was bouncy, whilst the inside remained crumbly, but with enough firmness to hold together well.<br/><br/>#mess non existent â not much going on in this burger, and it definitely wasnât the beastly type I am used to.<br/><br/>Poor poor burger. Do yourself a favour and if youâre in the Victoria area, then get yourself a @bleeckerburger literally across the road. Youâll get one of the best in the London for exactly the same price, plus service with a smile. @shakeshackuk is just a huge hype with a talk as loud as a motorbike but none on the walk. Iâve heard it is good in other countries but for now, not convinced: 2/10

We often hang out here after office hour. This place has really nice atmosphere and lots of food option. The only thing i don't like is they only provide cheap plastic spoons/forks which is not great for health and not easy to eat many types of food with that.

đ¶DOUBLE SHACKBURGERđ¶<br/><br/>đčService: expect to wait a bit of time before being handed your food as this restaurant is very attractive to both locals and tourists that come taste their delicious food items.<br/><br/>đčAmbiance: this fast food chain exists in the US and you could only find it in London when it comes to their European location.<br/>This place is located in a good touristic street where you can listen to live music sometimes. so if you like the ambiance to be very calm, maybe it is not the right address for you.<br/><br/>đčFood taste: I was surprised about the size of the burger and I saw them to be smaller than their fast food chains' concurrent. But it was a very pleasant tasty experience, the bun and the patty are both very tender and juicy and you could feel the freshness of the products from the first bite.<br/>When it comes to their fries, you get to choose between fries with cheddar cheese or without any topings.<br/>They are in both cases very soft and big in size, also the way they are shaped makes them different from any other fast food fries.<br/><br/>đčComments:<br/><br/>đčPrice: it would be a bit more expensive than other burgers but i mean, it is a "brand" that you could not find anywhere else but in the states, so maybe treat yourself for once and go try it!<br/><br/>All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this place!

My favorite spot for midnight cravings. In love with their burgers and crinkle cheesy friesđ<br/><br/>Their potato bun is out of this and all the ingredients are fresh. Their concretes are unique and delicious as well

Decent fast food restaurant, even though a bit expensive. I visited the Convent Garden branch with some friends and asked for the bacon hamburger with chips and a milkshake. Even though everything was tasty, I think the hamburgers were a bit tiny. We also got a small portion of chips. But I still recommend it for a quick bite!

Brilliant milkshake, mushroom burger and cheesy fries!<br/><br/>Just what you need on a night of indulgence. Brilliant location as Covent garden is my favourite place to hang around!<br/>

Everything is good here. From burgers to beer. We ordered chicken burger with cheese fries. Burger was good and juicy. Also beer had a really good foam.

Nice fast food ! The fries are amazing, try it with cheese on top but be aware that the quantity might make it cloying.<br/>The mushroom burger was ok but not incredible. Still, it's a great option if you're nearby.

This review is about the Shake Shack situated near Victoria Station.<br/><br/>SERVICE: 5/5. Everyone was friendly and polite, so I have no complaints at all. It took about ten minutes for our order to be ready and they notified us with a beeping device.<br/>FOOD: 4/5. The burgers and the fries we ordered were very tasty and went really well with their Shack sauce. The two things that bothered me were the size of the burgers (so tiny!) and the fact that they did not have a gluten-free bun even though their website says it's available everywhere. As a result I had to eat my ShackBurger in a lettuce wrap, which was a bit uncomfortable.<br/>LOCATION: 5/5. The fast food is located near Victoria Station and there are a few others, in Covent Garden for example. The design inside is modern and there are many seats.<br/>MENU: 4.5/5. The menu is varied, there really is everything a fast food has to have. I removed that 0.5 because of the gf bun.<br/>PRICE: 3/5. I expected to spend much less, instead we spent over 20ÂŁ for two (tiny) burgers, cheese fries and a bottle of water!<br/>TOTAL: 4.3/5.

The place was packed but the wait and struggle for a table was worthwhile, the burger and the fries were really good and it's hard to find a decent burger anywhere, although it's not my usual meal, this one I found great, the bread was very good, the size was perfect, the taste and it was well cooked, plus the rush of being in this busy place in central London is part of the experience.
Ravi Bagiya
It has only mushroom and beef burgers... no other meat. I have mushroom burger and cheese fries as I don't eat beef and they are both really amazing. Have been there so many times and I wouldn't normally go again for a veg burger if it wasn't worth it
Ujjwal Tamang
Juicy burger, great fries and a buzzer system to let you know that food is ready. Situated at the heart of Covent Garden, it is a great place to seep in the hustle and bustle of London.
Donutsam
Cheese, cheese, everywhere. Thatâs the good part. Everything else about Shake Shack was disappointing for me. Originally starting out in Madison Square Park in a literal shack, the chain had exploded globally and eventually found itâs way to Covent Garden here in London. As with any lunch time, itâs busy and thereâs a chunky queue. My order was for the ShakeMeister single patty for ÂŁ6.50 and a Cheese fries (ÂŁ4.00). You get given a buzzer when you order as thereâs a bit of a wait until itâs ready. The burger feels very small and sloppily prepared. You canât quite see it, but thereâs the tiniest of squirts (remind me how much I hate that word) of the ShackSauce. The meat wasnât in a patty form either, it was split in pieces. It felt like a such a greasy eat. I felt unclean. The shallots were nice and the fries were as expected. The two storey venue does feature some fun people watching.
Filipe Passos-Coelho
Having had plenty of burgers when I lived near Boston, I was really keen on checking out what were the differences overseas. The burgers are damn delicious, the epitome of juicyness, very close to the originals back in the States. Could be the nostalgia lens acting up, but I also felt the burger I asked (double cheese with lettuce, onion and tomato) was "assembled" to be done quickly and not so much to deliver that extra niceness. Quite literally, all ingredients were packed together, almost sorted by type, which is a shame and was a let down. Still tasted great but wasn't the same, sloppy. The setting is great, if you know the area, Covent Garden is a vey iconic area of London and just a great place to visit and be.
ET Food Voyage
Shake Shack has now become an unmissable food stop in New York. Itâs amazing to see how it started from a humble food cart and now itâs this global sensation nowadays. It has set its foot in London since 2015 and has been expanding in this city ever since. If youâve tried in any of their Middle East or Turkey branches, Shake Shack definitely serves some delicious burgers. However when in the UK, we are all limited to their vegetarian Mushroom burger. But GREAT NEWS here because all Shake Shack branches in London now serves halal chicken!
Laurs
Very helpful staff. Very efficient. Maybe one of the places that I frequent when I was in London. I live their burgers and 50/50 drink! A great combination!
Palak Somani
This was our brilliant discovery in Covent Garden!! The food is really good and price just perfect. Their burgers have patty tossed with mouth watering cheese. Another thing that I liked is their flexibility to make vegetarian burgers too. <br/> Our total bill for 5 person was ÂŁ35 which is ÂŁ7 per person. Pretty cheap in that place.
Shannon Correia
We waited about 20 minutes for milkshakes to go. The system didn't really seem to work, with many frustrated customers waiting for orders which arrived at different times. Chocolate flavor- a real classic, was unavailable. The milkshake itself was thin and not smooth. Didn't enjoy the raspberry flavour (over ÂŁ5!), although my friends enjoyed their peanut butter and caramel ones.
Jeet Thakker
Well being a vegetarian i may be biased on the ratings here.<br/>We hardly get any veg options and if its veg its mostly mushrooms,<br/>In this case a giant portobello mushroom in a cheesy patty.<br/>I would have paid double if i could get an option to discard mushroom, unfortunately they dint had one.<br/><br/>Cheese fries were great, i mean u cant get wrong with fries and that too with cheese<br/><br/>Deserts were our saviour, we literally hogged on it<br/>Initially we all went berserk for vanilla shake & Bigblend <br/>When we were repeating the same order, staff recommended that black and white is a better alternative <br/>Well he wasnt wrong !
Lisa Reynolds
Shake shack in Covent Garden is the perfect spot for a quick bite. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (in the sun) also available for take away. I got the only chicken burger on the menu, which was quite dry. The crinkle fries were delish though, also available with cheese sauce. And a chocolate malt shake which was the goods in this warm weather

Love their burgers to the core!! <br/>My faviourite burger place! Fresh, lip smacking jucilicious delicious fingerlikin burgers!<br/>Ah the cheese fries are heavenly!! <br/>Love their 50-50!!

Too expensive for Shakes -- and Veggie burger options are very less as well. Not recommended if you are a veggie. I was surprised with their milkshake sizes for the price we pay.

Special meal for special individuals, the food was prepared so sweet and the eatery was so clean and descent. Nice to have entered to order for a meal. Nice!!!

Lovely burger and the peanut butter milkshake was great! I seldom crave for American fast food and hated burgers. I guess life is about finding out stuff.

Had the Smokeshack Burger. It was good, but not great, so I'm not sure if I was served a meal that was a deviation from the standard, but I found the experience underwhelming compared to my expectations of this franchise, based on the reviews on here and the opinion of the general public.
Moushumi Das
I love almost everything on their menu. From the burgers to the hot dogs & shakes. But my absolute favourite has to be their fries loaded with cheese. <br/><br/>

Although the seating isn't the best for this time of year I really enjoyed my burger and chips. I didn't even know it was there and just happened to come across it. It was really busy and you can tell this place is popular. I got a Cheesy chips and a standard burger with just gherkin (I didn't realise you had to specify that you wanted lettuce and tomato but my I was hungry and not thinking lol). the cheesy chips where amazing really enjoyed those and the service was great. I would defo recommend this place as a pit stop on your travels!

Shake shack has spoilt me for the choices of burgers I have to make when I go to other places. Their burgers are to die for specially the Shroom burger. They have amazing curly fries. Tip:-order fries along with chocolate milkshake, dip the fries in em and get transported to heaven
Happyddukbokkie
I was craving for shake shack for a realllyyyy long time and finally had time to travel to central London to eat it. The queue was long as always, but it moved really quick. They added more sitting spaces so it wasn't that hard to get a sit. Order was ready in less than 20mins. The burgers taste good but hoped there was more lettuce with it and less burnt! And I ordered a root beer float but it was actually only half filled. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. This meal costs me more than ÂŁ25! đ
Regina Naomi
Love the Shack Burger, and the black and white shake. The fries are crispy and not greasy at all, the cheese fries is great as well. Had their burgers 2 days in a row (pretty much explains how GOOD they are).

Quite disappointed with the food, was so looking forward to try these burgers but fries were cold, bread too soggy and burger tasted burned. Place was extremely busy, so expect to wait, the whole seating arrangement is a mess and staff were arguing with each other. Won't be visiting again :(
MsSIllySachi
The cheesey fries are a must. Also had the cheese shack burger which i believe only for a limited time so get in while you can. My partner ordered a burger that had fried onion pieces in it, also heavenly. Overall staff and food service were efficient and enjoyable. Only downside is its a bit pricey for the size of the burgers.

Be prepared for quite a long waiting time here for your food. But its totally worth the wait, the burger was good, and now i understand why people go crazy for their crinkle fries, it just simply a must order, too good.<br/><br/>The only letdown of the burger itself was the patty, it has this muffin like taste, which am not a big fan for a burger bun.<br/>Didnt have chance to order their shakes.<br/>Would definitely come back for their shakes again ;)

New York City awesomeness in the middle of London! Amazing variety of shakes. The burgers and fries don't hurt but I mainly have the shakes here. Love this place.
Priyanshi Somaiya
Not enough food for Vegetarians here but the fries are to die for! So deliciously yummm and crisp. I found that the quantity could be improved. I found it a little expensive for the quantity we get in return. But overall the place is great for some snacks to nibble on for the vegetarians. #foodie #ShakeShackFries #Delicious đ

'meh' is all I can remember of the burger I had here - it's a posher version of mcD sadly, and promises more but delivers less, and is mushy and messy to eat. Shame because I had tried their burgers at an event and had really enjoyed it then it had been prepared just for me, before the opening as a taste and was beautifully juicy and flavoursome. trying the 'real deal' in the shop was very disappointing.

Yum yum! Always one of my favorite fast food burgers! Love the soft bun, the juicy patty and even the cheesy mushroom stack! Never a let down!

Ocassionally I'll be in London where we receive a delivery at lunch time ... My introduction to Shake Shack, a super famous, upcoming burger brand in the UK - was a little disappointing.<br/><br/>I've always lived by the mantra "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all" ...<br/><br/>I was glad therefore when one of my colleagues just came out and put it right out there!!!<br/><br/>Life's too short - I think I'll stick to Five Guys!!

Went to shake shack for the first time because of the hype but it doesn't live up to expectations<br/>Got a take away. Great presentation with paper bag but that's all the plus. <br/>Burger's good but too expensive for the quality<br/>The staff didn't look to clean themselves and also some staff were evidently ill<br/>Not an appetiser builder when you see that kinda environment

All time favourite!! Always go for the cheeseburger, cheese fries and the strawberry shake (so good!). Try to avoid the queues. Cheap, very tasty fast-food.

For me, this has to be the best burger of all time. BUT disappointingly, this particular branch fails to meet the cravings I have been having for more than a year now. I had dinner here and ate 2 more times during my short stay in London. Each time it failed to make me taste the -best - burger - flavor of all time. I don't know what is different here versus in NY and Dubai.. Maybe it's their meat?

One of the most random eats I did in London was at Shake Shack in Convent Garden.  It simply happened when I walked past by the market for the second time.  Seeing a Shake Shack and nothing eating there is almost like sinning!  So despite being  stuffed from the breakfast I had before, I decided to order the single Shack burger and a Salted Caramel Shake (they ran out of peanut butter !@#%).
Diana.
I am a bit tired of the American food/burgers galore trend HOWEVER shake shack does my all time favourite burger. <br/><br/>I am a meat eater but ALWAYS plump for their mushroom burger - a breadcrumbed mushroom filled with cheese that oooozes out as you bite in, salad and a brioche bun. <br/><br/>For starters it tastes INCREDIBLE, and if I'm passing I always contemplate a burger here. It also looks great! Almost like a cartoon its so perfect looking! <br/><br/>Cheese fries also good. But the mushroom burger is defo the main event here. HIGHLY recommended.

I'm so vehemently against fast food (unless it's after drinking) that its surprising I'm even rating this joint. I certainly didn't expect the burger to be as delicious and succulent as it was. As for the cut fries, you can never go wrong with those either. Still to try the shakes, but if they're on par with the burgers - which they should be considering the name - go for it! Good for a budget meal in Covent Garden or if you're just a fan of fast food (but not the papery McDonald's mind đ). Being in Covent garden's open courtyard also has its advantages since it's<br/> an open area that you an sit in, and there's often live music playing there too!

Perfect when you're looking for something fast&tasty! Great menu options that will satisfy your hunger. Despite the likely queue, the service is fast and attentive. Definitely a cheap option for a meal-to-go!

Having heard a lot about Shake Shack I finally decided to give it a try this weekend. This is of course one of the many burger joints which have recently became the rage around town. And just like me I am sure you know someone who has claimed that this is the definitive best amongst the lot - so I really wanted to know what the fuss is about!
Tala Khazim
Juicy cute burgers with moreish sticky cheese crinkled fries! Go to the Shake Shack to treat yourself...still tastes just like the first time I tried it in New York! One of my favourites, and consistently hits the spot. Looking for a really meaty type of burger where the patty is more the centrepiece? Try one of the many gourmet places in London, this place is for comfort food!
IviaggidiSmarz
I love Shake Shake and its hamburger: I go there every time I can, in New York City, in Philadelphia and obviously in London. Its location in Convent Garden itâs so cool: you can have your lunch inside or outside and all around you people and music everywhere. Their Hamburgers are very good and I love the way you can order and wait your meal. In my last day in London City, I went there again to eat a Shake Burger, their special fries and a lovely homemade lemonade. Good job Shake Shake!

Surprise, Surprise. We search something for eat, but fast. So fast, but not fast food. The Shake Shack is good for that. Fast service with cool food.
Catherine
Shake shack was recommended by an American acquaintance, however the burger I received was disappointing. Sure it had bacon and peppers, but otherwise it was severely lacking in the flavour department. For about ÂŁ7 I expected more! There are way better burger options in London.
Meghana Nair
One of the best burger joints ! <br/>The outlet at Covent Garden is my particular favourite for the location. The service is quick and the ambience is lovely.<br/>My favourites are the shack burger and the crinkly burger ( well the most popular choices )! <br/><br/>The hot chocolate in winter is definitely worth the try. <br/><br/>Keep gobbling xx

Good for a quick eat, didn't like the fact it was practically outside. Decent location but definitely a place to eat during the summer. The cheesy burger and hot dog are menu winners

FINALLY! The last time I had Shake Shack was Madison Park NY back in 2012 and Iâd been hanging out for another burger for so so long. <br/><br/>I also wanted to make sure I wasnât thinking it was still the best burger Iâve had through rose tinted glasses. <br/><br/>Iâm happy to say itâs not the case. Still as good as ever.<br/><br/>Shack Burger - I went with the double as I remember the single being a little bit too small for me. So glad I did. Juicy, cooked medium, soft bun, melted cheese, bit of lettuce and fresh tomato. Calling this one Jake Stringer from now on because it is the package, and it is big time.<br/><br/>Crinkle Cut fries - Tasty, crispy, the right size too. <br/><br/>Peanut Butter Shake - Câmon people, you know this is the flavour to get. And it delivers so so well. Amazing.<br/><br/>All in all I will be back so many times to wait in that 20 minute line to get a burger. My god it feels like heaven.

So darn good!!! You'll be craving for a repeat 1-2 weeks later. Can't beat the breaded portobello option too! Absolutely YUMSSSSS đ<br/><br/>Rated this place 0.5 down cos of the compact space at their Covent Garden branch when ordering but otherwise top notch service with getting people their seats! Didn't have to wait too long and the food and being allocated a table was timed to a tee. #musttry

Mr D made me walk a gazillion miles to get to Shake Shack since he wasn't into food, it was very rare for him to want to go somewhere so I sucked it up and trudged behind him. Shake Shack is an American Burger joint and has opened their wings internationally and is located in The Piazza at Covent Garden.

I've been a New Yorker so have a soft spot for the best concrete and cheese fries place. Was happy to see the new branch in Europe!<br/><br/>It is as good as the New York one with little minor tweaks in menu to technically differentiate themselves. But still love the concept and it works. <br/><br/>They have huge huge seating place but it is scattered in different zones. Dont compromise on small or sun exposed seats and ask the staff about additional seating.<br/><br/>My only problem, high price. But hey, its Europe, nothing is cheap except for air to breathe.

This place is simply amazing. The burgers are a must try and the cheesy fries are out of the world . The shakes are good too. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, it's a good place to hangout and have great food. The only problem is they don't have anything with chicken...it's either vegetarian or with beef or pork.
Supriti Paraskar
Had the shack stack... Had higher expectations .. But it wasn't tooooo bad. The deep fried mushroom was a delight within , but I've had slightly Better beef .
Dani
Burgers are great but fries are very average. I loved the shack burger with a beef pattie and the portobello mushroom on top. It felt slightly overpriced.
Vivek Raju
Burgers are a must have! Shakes very good too. Usually very busy and queues can be long. Not great value but the taste is definitely premium.

Oh my dear shakes.<br/>Oh my dear cheese fries.<br/>Oh my dear shroom burger.<br/>Oh my dear usually queues outside shake shack. <br/>Never disappoint. Yummmmmaaayyyy.

Do I like beer - yes. Do I like ice cream - yes. Do I like beer and ice cream in the same glass - apparently yes, very much so. Those clever people down at Shake Shack have teamed up with chocolate makers Mast Brothers to create an incredible and very limited edition Chocolate Beer Float (ÂŁ5.00). I went down to the launch yesterday to try it out, along with a smoke-shack burger and fries (obvs) and I can confirm it tastes like a dream.
Chris Osburn
This week only Shake Shack and Mast Brothers are teaming up to present a limited edition Chocolate Beer Float. Available at the Covent Garden Shake Shack location through Sunday 23 August, the float costs ÂŁ5 and combines the Shackâs vanilla frozen custard with Mast Brotherâs non-alcoholic chocolate beer served together in a Govino wine glass.

My girlfriend and I are massive burger fans. So we were a little disappointed when we went over to Shake Shack on a Sunday afternoon. The bun was oily, the fries were soggy and the tomato and lettuce were not fresh. Paid a lot of money for something so average.
Bonnie W
Having heard several blogs and friends praising the work of Shake shack I thought it was high time I bustled through the crowds with a good friend in tow and plenty to talk about as the queues are notorious. Luckily we hit Covent Garden on a Tuesday evening, which was busy but by no means a queue of any substance. We trawled through the menu eagerly, spotting they even have treats for any four legged friends â immediately putting them high in my book.
Flat Eric
Why does the food taste better here ??? Well, I will in time make sense of this question!!! But for now, let just enjoy good food, meat... Burgers đ and shakes, great ambiance, casual dining... Good job Guys. As always Flat Eric.

Iâm sure youâve noticed by now that thereâs something entirely lemming-like about the food blogger. The similarity between us and the little creatures is quite remarkable â and no, Iâm not referring to the curvature of our stomachs, nor the grasping claws, perfect for snatching up complimentary edible bribes. Moreover, I mean the way in which we follow each other â totally blindly â to a particular restaurant, when a dozen alternatives are on offer. And for this particular establishment, Shake Shack in Covent Garden, I must be the very last in the long line of lemmings knocking on the door to sample those now famous crinkly fries.
Samuel Kwok
Good hype, decent burgers and quality but value factor is abysmal. The concrete is a small pot of melted ice cream that isn't worth the money.
Sydneybelly
Best burgers in London for sure. We thoroughly enjoyed this little burger joint. Heard a few things about Shake Shack from people who travelled to London and it definitely lived up to its hype! Super busy so it's sometimes hard to find a seat. This place was a real treat and in a great area too! Can't wait to have them again! One happy customer

Food: Shake shack is always promising comfort food: a burger, fries, and a malted shake are perfect for rainy London. And your vegetarian friends don't need to be left out because the shroom burger is a pretty good option for them đ<br/><br/>Ambience: No frills, in the heart of tourist central, almost always crowded<br/><br/>Service: Self-service, prompt, friendly staff

I'm so stoked to have Shake Shack around the corner even if admittedly, nothing would ever beat the overall feel of the Central Park shack in New York. Some would say it's a glorified Maccas (gasp!) but these world-famous burgers are seriously some of the most comforting burgers you'll ever have. Fuss-free, fast, and pretty tasty.
Steph Chan
Centrally located in Covent Garden in the main square, groups of people come flocking daily to grab a quick bite of the antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers. The heavy accentuation on how only natural and premium ingredients are used, makes this the place to go to, over its other fast-food competitors. Unlike most burgers, they use very soft buns, the actual meat of the burger is on the thin side, and the lettuce can be more generous but all-in-all, Shake Shack burgers are easy to eat, great for the taste buds, and served pretty quickly. (I think you would probably classify them as a fast-food chain). Cheesy fries are heaven, theyâre my favourite. Crinkle cut Yukon fries, crunchy, and not oily.
Caroline Eng
Really good burger, specially for the price! I have to say that the burgers from Shack Shack in New York City taste better but when I travel to London I drop by to grab a cheeseburger... ;-)
The City Lane
Shake Shack, the famed burger chain from New York's Danny Meyer, caused quite a stir when it started expanding in New York. It was a place that put a focus on quality ingredients and simplicity when crewing burgers and other burger joint foods like shakes and "concretes". <br/><br/>When Shake Shack hit London, there was a huge hype but you know what? The burgers are decent but not as good as the hype suggests. They may have been top of the game all of those years ago but in the interim the world has moved on.<br/><br/>In London especially, there are quite simply better burgers out there for the same price. The burgers at Shake Shack are good, yes, but they aren't great. The concretes though are super tasty.
Giulia MulĂš
I tried bits of different things: Shack Burger, Smoke Shack, fries, shakes and custards. I missed the Shake Stack and cheesy fries, the next day everyone I know was raving about them, so that's another reason to go back.
Liz Ash
Was not impressed by the burger quality at shake shack, other than the delicious crinkle cut fries and the sauce inside their burgers is divine. But then again fries are always delicious for me, so I am partial to any form or potato. Overall more expensive and there are better burgers out there..Quest to find a better burger still stands..
Halal Chronicles
Shake Shack restaurant in Covent Garden is a burger diner style restaurant. Unfortunately the branches in the UK do not offer a halal option, so we opted for the 'Shroom Burger (vegetarian)', which was a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and their signature ShackSauce. The melted cheese erupted & oozed out of the portobello mushroom, coating the mouth with divine flavours, scintillating the senses from a hunger coma. The burger was truly heavenly. The only criticism is that the burger was a bit on the small size, plus it would be great if Shake Shack invested in some halal options.
Emily Wouters
After my amazing burger at Patty & Bun, I was keen to check out other burger joints in town. Shake Shack had come up highly recommended, so I was happy to try their food. While it was delicious, I have to say I didn't think their burgers were as good as Patty & Bun, and not as good value for money.<br/><br/>If I find myself close to a Shake Shack though & in the mood for burgers, I would go back.
Joey Crouse
The burger is just a burger. Patty succulent and the best of the whole dish. Bun and sides not great. Hotdog not the money worth. Eat there to tick it of the list but rather go 20m down the road to MEATmarket!
Gregoire Thomas
Very nice place! Been there with friends for a few drinks and had an amazing time.<br/>Great place if you want to stuff your face with awesomeness.

I really enjoyed the Shake Shack, it is a slightly higher price for what is essentially fast food but I think for the flavour it is worth a bit extra.<br/><br/>We had shackmeisters and cheesy chips which were really tasty. Service was quick as we were sat down a server came over and collected our ordered from the hatch for us.<br/><br/>I had the sticky toffee concrete after which was divine, by far the scrummiest icecream I have had in ages.<br/><br/>The were two. bad points though, my friends cup of lemonade was over half full of ice which wasn't good value for money. Also when I went up to get us dessert my friend wanted another wine and they refused to serve it unless I ordered another portion of chips. I explained we had just eaten there and this was a second glass but the server wouldn't serve us until the manager agreed we could have a second glass without the chips. <br/><br/>Other than that we had a fab time stuffing our faces!

I went at this restaurant with my husband. We went from the entrance through the kitchen top. We were impressed by the services they provide, which is very efficient. The waiters were very friendly. The food was excellent with all the tasty ingredients which make us remember its flavor even now and it is also very well priced for the location. View is really great!! We will definitely go to this place again soon whenever we visit London. I recommend this place to all.

Probably one of the most visited burger joints since its opening Shake Shack History and Background: Everyone knows Shake Shack, everyoneâs seen Shake Shack, everyoneâs probably eaten at Shake Shack.

Good service and great ambience.<br/>Love this place.<br/>Will surely visit again.. There is a lot to explore.<br/>You need to try different options available in the menu

Went here with my sister and brother in law and their kid. Quick to order your food but a long wait to get it. A fair amount of seating with front AND back combined. The food was great, filling and damn food. I don't know if that was partly due to us not eating for most of the day and we sat through a whole theatre performance with practically no food in the system.
Captain Coriander
I love a good burger.<br/><br/>What makes a good burger for me is the meat patties. It must contain a high percentage of fatty meat (not flour based), grilled to perfection according to your liking, and should be juicy when you take a bite. Shake shack makes such patties.<br/><br/>The menu says the patties are âcooked medium unless otherwise requestedâ. I normally like my patties medium to well done (I donât like the look of raw mince meat), but the patties at Shake Shack are quite thin (weâre talking approx 1cm thickness, rather than inches like GBK or Byron patties) so I didnât need to worry much about raw meat.<br/><br/>Their âCheeseburgerâ (ÂŁ5) â as a standard it comes with a single meat pattie, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. I added Shack Sauce for an extra ÂŁ1<br/><br/>The buns are super soft, and tastes almost like a sweet bun, rather than regular burger buns. The veggies are fresh, and cheese (cheddar, I think) melts just the right amount and gives a soft cushiony feel just before you hit the meat. Good meat-bun-veg ratio. Overall, itâs a pretty damn good cheeseburger.<br/><br/>The burger looks quite small, but itâs actually quite filling. Iâd say if you plan to get sides then a single decker is good enough for an average eater, otherwise go for double patties.<br/><br/>We also tried their hot dogs. Itâs a very small hot dog, but packed with quality. The sausage alone is OH MY GOD. Itâs meaty, spicy, smoky, and grilled to perfection. It tastes more like a chorizo than a hot dog sausage. We love chorizos, so we may be a bit biased here.<br/><br/>The hot dog bun is again well grilled. The condiments aplenty â tomato, cucumber, pickle, chilli, a load of onions, and some really tasty green sauce.<br/><br/>Now, the sides: You can get two types of fries: normal (left in the photo) or cheesey (right). The fries are crinkle cuts, so thatâs a +10 points for us.<br/><br/>For drinks, we ordered the âfifty-fiftyâ â that is 50% lemonade and 50% iced tea. This was the biggest let-down. You canât taste the lemonade⊠and you can only barely taste the iced tea. So it tastes more like a diluted iced tea. Not worth it at all. Donât get it unless you like diluted iced tea.<br/><br/>Overall, itâs a good burger/hot-dog meal. If youâre in covent garden and crave a good burger, go for it. They have a no reservation policy though, and there seems to always be a queue. However, the queue does move pretty quickly, so you may only need to wait 15-30 mins before you can enjoy this US-franchise burger house.

Shake your booty over to Shake Shack!. This is by far one of the best burgers in London. It's extremely popular and the lines are managed exceptionally well. For the money, this offers an excellent value, especially for its Covent Garden Location. My husband and I especially like that they offer wine, beer and custard. The burgers are insanely juicy. For loads of pictures and a full review, check out my blog.

Tasty burger, custard a bit meh. Was hungry going to this place and I hoovered down the food. Had the double burger and it tasted really good - not too big though. The crinkle cut fries with cheese weren't that special but the shake was really really good. The frozen "custard" ie ice cream wasn't very special - basically it was a McFlurry.

Nice food/Great service. So many burgers being hyped up in the UK at the moment. A lot of dirty this and that real handcut chips. The reality is its a pile of plop that is not that enjoyable.<br/>I was dubious about Shake Shack at first. <br/>Then we ate there, smooth service, nice burger, great crinkle cut chips. Defiantly going back. The food is enjoyable.<br/>Looking forward to trying some other things on the menu.

6/10 for greasy burger, 9/10 for shake. I had double burger with cheese and strawberry shake. The gurger was too greasy and not much Veggies. I enjoyed shake. Not too sweet and nice shake.<br/>There is always a queue, but doesn't take so long .<br/>It's great location in Covent garden.

You might be thinking to yourselves; âdoes she eat anything other than burgersâ The answer is of course, yes, but i choose to eat mainly burgers â theyâve got your carbs, protein, and vegetable intake all in one sizeable meal. So of course the #burgertour continues and we decided to pop our little heads and large appetites in to the Covent Garden branch of Shake Shack.

I finally ventured to Shake Shack when I couldnât get a table at the nearby Dub Jam restaurant. The queue was reasonable and the lines moved quickly; placing an order was simple, painless and efficient, however it went downhill from there!

Shake Shack is just the latest in US burger chains opening up a shop in London as the craze for that delicious meaty sandwich continues. Although slightly pipped by 5 Guys (which opened the day before), Shake Shack snagged the better location with a double storefront in Covent Garden Market Piazza. There is an ordering and production assembly line which would please even the most ardent efficiency expert and a mix of indoor, semi-outdoor, and fully exposed seating to suit every taste. The menu is simple with a handful of burger options but fleshed out by the frozen custard and concrete selections â because we all know that burgers must be followed by ice cream in some form. I first hit Shake Shack on their opening day but Iâve held off writing a review until I could revisit for a more typical experience. Opening day was awesome with almost as many staff as customers (and since the seating area was full and there was a line

Shack Stack (cheeseburger & mushroom burger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce) - a relatively simple tasting burger. Satisfying but not all that special;<br/>- Stick Toffee Concrete (vanilla custard, chocolate toffee, paul a. young chocolate chunks, salted caramel sauce, malt powder) - a dessert with lots of sweet and salty powers which was quite good;<br/>- fries - crinkle cut is different. Quite crispy exteriors, insides a bit mushy;<br/>- Shack-Cago Dog @ Dubai airport (German all-beef hot dog, Rick's Picks Shack relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt, mustard)

Burgers should be so dirty that they ooze their insides against your hands. These do not, in fact they fall woefully short.

The burgers were incredible â such soft, squishy buns, cooked a little pink, meaty but not too meaty if you know what I mean, lovely American gooey cheese...

...I love burgers and one of my fave places in New York is Shake Shack. So imagine my excitement when I learned they were opening an outlet in London! All of July I have been scheming to go. Time and again I have been...

The patties themselves are cooked using the âsmashâ technique, which may seem odd, but itâs apparently responsible for the crisp, chewy exterior. You wonât get the really juicy flavour that weâre seeing from the thicker pattie burger outlets these days, but itâs not that type of burger, is it? Itâs plenty flavourful as it is. From memory, it doesnât have quite as much beefy flavour as the one I had in New York, which may be to do with the difference between grass-fed (London) and corn-fed (US). On the other hand, I may simply have romanticised my first ShakeShack experience.<br/>

And here we are. Shake Shack has finally opened its first UK venture in Covent Garden Market (two minutes away from my office, woohoo!). I love a good burger so there was no surprise that we braved the queues on opening day...

I went for a Shack Stack. No simple meal for me, oh no sir. A Cheeseburger with a Veggie burger on top, which is a juicy portobello mushroom stuffed to the brim with melted cheese, breaded and fried. All topped with curly crisp lettuce and juicy tomato, all in a soft white bun. To be totally honest I wasnât blown away with the beef burger, wasnât thick and juicy but I loved the veggie burger. So good and cheesy.<br/>

Shake Shack for me is pretty good, ÂŁ5 for the single ShackBurger and ÂŁ7.75 for the ShackStack.. It may not boast the highest quality of ingredients but sure it was damn comforting!

Having seen the hordes of people queueing for the Shake Shack in Covent Garden at the launch and weeks after I decided to check out what all the fuss was about. Â With sizeable indoor and outdoor dining areas the rent for the floor space must be astronomical. Â I would later understand how the whole venture was viable. We visited on an overcast Thursday evening and thankfully the queue was only some twenty deep and it moved along swiftly. Â Umbrellas were handed out to those who wanted them; luckily it was only drizzling for a little while. Â Menus were also provided to combat queue boredom. Â The windy queue is right in front of the outdoor dining area and this helped me to decide what to order by ogling the orders of all the patrons. Â The crinkle cut chips looked different and tempting, although without the cheese topping as that looked a tad too unhealthy with my eating habits lately. All of the burgers were served in paper wraps so that you could see and eat them without too much mess.

Located in the heart of Covent Garden, the layout of this Shake Shack is quite different from its counterparts in New York as the restaurant is spread across several rooms where the ordering booth is separated from the dining areas. These are split into an indoor space (perfect for the chilly winters) and a large dining area under the market canopy, which was the perfect setting on a hot summer day like this. Despite having to wait almost an hour, the line seemed to move quite quickly and smoothly and the staff was kind enough to offer us samplings of their delicious chocolate custard ice cream as well as

There is serious hype surrounding this burger restaurant (and another one called Five Guys). I had read about 5 articles about both of these burger restaurants, both from America and both located in Covent Garden, before they had opened, then since they have opened have read about 30 reviews and have tried really hard to stay away from this hype as I did not want to make this restaurant a destination, I wanted to go there when I was in the vicinity and hungry, so in a way I did not want food to dictate my life, but when I told my boyfriend about this burger place, he got super excited and really wanted to come here on a Saturday lunch time and then I knew, there was no way how I could avoid the hype and I was going there like any other London foodie. Shake Shack these days can be found all across the states, Turkey (interesting destination?), across middl

This burger is next level! The bacon and the spicy pepper add a whole extra dimension to this burger for sure. Still super amazing, but personally I prefer something a bit more traditional. Shake shack has recently migrated across the pond and the Covent Garden restaurant is the first in Europe. On a frankly Mediterranean-ly warm evening and after a hard day at work, my friend and I went for burger and chips. This isnât quite your average burger and chips though. I ordered a shake stack, which is one of their normal meaty burgers combined with the vegetarian one of mushroom and cheese encased in a crispy coating of breadcrumbs. We also ordered a hot dog to share which was a Cumberland sausage with some crispy onions. Alongside that we had some cheesy fries, a lemonade, a glass of wine and some of their own ketchup and mustard. Iâm not sure if I can quite get across in words how delicious that burger was. I donât know if itâs just because I was hungry and had been looking forward to my first shake shack experience for ages or whether it really is just pure yum in a bun. I think itâs the latter. The service. As we went the first day and the queue was huge, they were trying to make the wait as pleasant as possible, giving frozen custard and newspapers to everyone who was waiting. The service was phenomenal, incredibly nice and close. In fact, Iâve never had a service as nice as this in London. The guys were making a great effort considering how busy it was.

Last time I was in New York I tried Shake Shack for the first time and added my name to the American burger chain's long list of fans from native New Yorkers to the NYFW clan and thousands of tourists. It started as a hot dog cart in Manhattan's Madison Square Park in 2001 and has pretty much reach cult status over the pond.  And it's worth the hype, worth the queue. London has enjoyed an explosion of burger joints in the past few years, including the opening of Shake Shack's first British outpost in the Covent Garden piazza earlier this summer. We visited to relive the joys of our NYC trip, ordering classic cheese burgers, fries and, to try something new, a hot dog to share before finishing off with rich, creamy ice cream desserts. So good . The burgers are made from 100% Aberdeen Angus beef from grass-fed cows in Scotland, cooked medium, served with big handfuls of fresh green lettuce leaves, large slices of tomatoes and the classic ShackBurger is served with its special ShackSauce.

The American burger chain Shake Shack opened its first set of doors on UK soil earlier this month, specifically on Covent Garden soil and only a week apart from one of its largest American competitors, Five Guys. They, and others, have been riding the crest of the wave that is the recent and all-encompassing UK burger resurgence. Even the vegans amongst us would have found it difficult to ignore burger joints springing up across the capital like rodents on a Whac-A-Mole arcade game - Dirty Burger, Honest Burgers, Mother Flipper, Meat Liquor, Patty & Bun, to name a few. And people are going crazy for them, rushing to sample with a fervour like theyâre on commission. With PR machines and social media working overtime to create trending hashtags and an Instagram meltdown prior and during openings, launches of these fast-food-with-finesse joints have seen early adopters queuing for tens of minutes at a time to be one of the first to get their chops around the newest best burger in town.

I looked hopefully up at the hubby to see if his bacon cheeseburger was any better, however his face looked like a childâs drawing of an angry person. The next few minutes reassembled the fast food restaurant scene from 1993 film Falling Down. There were no brief cases, handguns or managers named Rick

Last week, it was Five Guys & Shake Shack restaurants opening in London. I tried Five Guys ( Clash of Titans Part I ) and I was very disappointed, it was a bad posh version of Mac Donald, taste is worst and it is more expensive! I went to Shake Shack on their opening day, Friday, July 5th but it was already too late, there was a big queue. 10 minutes queue for Five Guys the day before was ok but I didn't want to queue hours for a simple burger so I decided to wait that the hysteria of the opening disappears and return another day! So yesterday, I went to Shake Shack, no queue and I ordered the SmokeShack burger, cheese fries and a strawberry milkshake, my friends ordered the ShackBurger and normal fries. In this Clash of Titans, I am very disappointed to announce that there is no winner for me! Shake Shack burg ers were not better than Five Guys, I didn't think it would be possible to be worse than Five Guys but Shake Shack burgers had a industrial taste compare to Five Guys. In the S

Let me introduce you to the concept of anti-hype. Shake Shack set the bar high from the start. They made it clear that theyâd only be serving grass-fed Aberdeen angus beef patties and cooking them medium. They also promised us wondrous sounding desserts called concretes, using some of the best ingredients around. However, after reading a number of disparaging reviews and negative first-hand accounts from friends, a thought occurred. Was it all just hype and marketing spin? Last weekend, we finally decided to find out for ourselves and planned our trip with great precision. Since opening its doors, Shake Shack London has been attracting queues that would make even Meat Liquor jealous and we were determined to...

What can I say? just like Five Guys, Shake Shack totally "failed" on delivering anything half decent, the food was indeed fast food level but at more than double the standard UK price. I will take Burger King over Shake Shack any time after such a horrible experience.

I had a diner style lunch at the newly opened Shake Shack in Covent Garden. I had a crumbed mushroom burger, crinkle cut fries covered in liquid cheese and a chocolate shake. It was super busy so if you have the time, itâs worth the wait.

Shake Shack is fast food â imagine McDonalds but with soul. They pick great ingredients, freshly prepare them with staff who are paid a good wage and love their jobs and served with a quirky personality. Itâs a great experience

Originating from a mere hot dog cart in Manhattan, New York back in 2004, ShackShake has taken the US by storm and is now slowly trying to take over the world; one city at a time. How did ShakeShack fare in London? For ÂŁ5.00 I went for the ShackBurger (basically a cheeseburger), plus crinkle cut fries at ÂŁ2.50 and a caramel frozen custard shake for ÂŁ4.50. Armed with my Shake and my Shack Burger I was ready for my experimental testing. <br/><br/>Sex Appeal? The Shack Burger is essentially a cheeseburger and was pretty damn alluring since she was presented to me half naked peeping out of her paper wrap. Look at her. Posing like that. ....Skank.

The fries were excellent, nice and crispy and I loved the cheese sauce. I wish we had more cheese sauce in the UK, I swear it goes with EVERYTHING!<br/>

Stop the press! - Shake Shack of New York City have opened for business in the heart of the West End. Their fancy-pants new Covent Garden location is ideal for hungry theatre goers, tourists and passers by as its right in the middle of the Piazza. I went along to the day-before-it-opened sneakpeek to see how the UK Shack fared against my stateside experience of NYC's most beloved burger establishment. First up is the £6.50 SmokeShack burger. Its a classic American cheeseburger with the addition of crispy Wiltshire bacon, mildly hot chopped cherry peppers with ShackSauce (kinda thousand-islandey). Its MY favourite Shack offering and probably the first thing YOU should try. It comes wrapped in a sweet and squidgy Martins potato roll which i'm guessing ShakeShack import themselves. This bun is THE American classic and really helps give this burger that American-ness i'm sure they didn't want to lose here in the UK. The beef comes from grass fed Scottish cows, and very tasty it is too, wel

In New York, I tried my first Shake Shack and so added my name to the thousands of Shake Shack fans around the world. Our first Shake Shack outing was in Manhattanâs Madison Square garden on one of the hottest days of a New York summer. My 2nd outing was in a Christmas setting at the outletâs new London opening in Covent Garden. Â Festive baubles and a mulled wine on the side and weâre sitting in open air seating surrounded by festive shoppers. The menu comprises of burgers and hot dogs in the meat category and frozen custards for dessert. Â I want a cream soda float, but for some strange reason despite the menu saying Cream soda, what the Covent Garden outlet actually serves is Fanta. Â Not cool. I order the Shack-Cago dog, a standard hot dog with all the best of the American condiments arranged on top â onion, mustard, relish and all that is good. The fries are pretty standard fare, but the dog is one of the best. Â Good quality meat, no nasty gritty bits and the toppings seal the deal.

I went for the ShackBurger w/ added bacon (ÂŁ6.50), Fries (ÂŁ2.50) and decided to try their Shack-made Lemonade (ÂŁ2.75). We were given a buzzer which was handy so we could quickly grab seats while we waited for our order. I was quite surprised by

I had first heard of Shake Shack when I was in Miami , we sampled a dreamy milkshake and was instantly hooked. When I saw they were coming to Covent Garden I got a little bit excited. Opening at the same time as rivals Five Guys , there was going to be some hefty burger competition. On the opening it was way too busy, but yesterday alas I managed to get myself in there. It was a Tuesday and the queues have much died down, much to my delight! Whilst waiting I had a good read through the menu, it was hard to decide what to choose but here is what I opted for: Shake Shack Cheeseburger Single, with bacon and lettuce, A Drury Lane Jam Concrete which includes vanilla custard ice-cream, strawberry jam, ST JOHN bakery brown biscuit and fresh banana and I also got some crinkle cut fries . Each burger gives you the option to go single or double, the same with the concretes. However donât make the mistake I did, for some reason I thought the Concrete was a drink as it was directly under the shake

Shake Shack will do well as it caters for everyone, even dogs (not joking, they have dog treats on the menu).

The reservoir in Central Park It hadn't been long since my last visit to the States, road-tripping down the coast of California , but a couple of weeks ago I was back again, this time in NYC. I was there on a business trip, but managed to squeeze in some socialising, sight-seeing and eating too, and had a great time!  Sunrise view from my office window (jet lag calls with the UK = early start!) One of the most memorable meals of my trip was lunch at Shake Shack, New York's answer to  In N' Out . The question of which chain makes the better burger is hotly debated in the US, but having now had the privilege of sampling both, I have to present Shake Shack with first place. Crinkle cut fries - add cheese sauce for the ultimate tastiness With its squishy brioche bun, juicy burger, crispy bacon, and a squirt of tasty shack sauce, my Shack Burger (plus bacon) was absolutely exquisite. Double shack it was (ÂŁ7.50). Yeah man. This was good. Prettyyyy pretyyyyyy good. Grass fed Aberdeen Angus beef, cooked medium (would have preferred it medium rare), but for a âfast foodâ patty this is the best out there. Everything is cooked to order here which fills me with comfort. Like the soft rinse, or fabric softener. What do you call it? Ah, anyway, I was happy. Andy I just went for the double shack. This is a double cheeseburger with lettuce (I donât know if you can see that in the photoâs), tomato and shack sauce. The patty was nice, itâs a good fast food

All the staff were really friendly and exuded enthusiasm in that charming American-like manner â I was high fived three times which is sweet if youâre into that kind of thing. Shake Shack is a great addition to the London burger scene and I can see myself regularly popping in for that mushroom burger. Oh dear!

Itâs not big, and itâs not clever, but itâs really very good indeed. Iâd say itâs a perfect, even cartoon-like, rendition of the ultimate simple, squishy cheeseburger. Although mine, in my opinion, was over done, the flavours are absolutely spot on and thereâs a very good

There was such a big craze when Shake Shack and 5 Guys hit London and I refused to stand in a 30 person queue or anything longer than 15 minutes for a takeaway burger. And I am so glad I did(well for Shake Shack anyway). I'm not sure whether it was because there was so much hype behind the anticipation of its launch or I was expecting something spectacular from one of America's beloved food chains but what ever it was it did not enlighten me. The branch in Covent Gardens is small, which explains why the queues flow out the door. As you walk in you can pick up a menu from the super friendly staff or read it off the wall. It has an open kitchen, where food is produced in a very efficient production line. I ordered the ShackBurger, which was a cheese burger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce that set me back £5. The patty was good and the bun was so soft, but I thought it was well overpriced for such a small and unsatisfying burger. Don't get me wrong, I love my burgers and when

I'm very glad I've been. I did my blogger duty. It was tasty. It was a burger. It didn't set my world on fire. It's very American in feel, despite the nod to voguish British ingredients and suppliers. I'd never queue for it again. I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as MeatLiquor or Patty & Bun and I think, like Covent Garden, it's mainly for the tourists. It's not bad at all: it's just home from home for the American tourists who made up a large part of the ridiculous queue and a temporary excitement for those of us who fell for the hysterical hypefest. Like me.<br/>

The secret to their juicy burgers is that it is made from a mysterious beef blend, taking different parts of the cow to make up the patty. The injection of American burger chain Shake Shack into the London burger scene is a dream come true for apostles of the dirty / americana / junk movement.
Wingz
To be fair, judging from the way it operates, I recognise Shake Shack is more like a fast food joint than gourmet burgers. But if it's closer to McD or BK, they really shouldn't be charging this kind of prices. I am a bit bored of our American friends bringing their mediocre chains over here, and all they change is the dollar sign for British pound. We deserve better.

It was worth braving the crowds, though for a chance to try a couple of their seasonal specials.
The Perfect Trough
Letâs be truthful here: that positive Shake Shack NY impression becomes amplified when back home and amalgamated into the joys and vibrancy of a New York visit overall. The superlatives come out, the power of nostalgia becomes inscrutable, the positive memories indelible. But we in London have been busy, and this isnât a patch on Honest Burgers or Tommiâs.
The Food Connoisseur
Those Americans have been invading London; during the summer we saw Five Guys and Shake Shack open in the Covent Garden area. One night âVâ and I was on a spontaneous night out. It was around 7pm, stumbling around the Covent Garden market area, there was hardly and queues and we seized the chance. Given a menu, and only being slightly hungry I went for the âShack Stackâ and âCheese Friesâ. Â I love the branding; itâs cute, simple and inviting. Although the queues wasnât so crazy, scouting for seats was a tricky business. Luckily we found seating outside, given a buzzer we waited patiently for it to vibrate. The Shack stack is a cheeseburger, stuffed with a huge crisp fried breaded mushroom stuffed with cheese. Topped with lettuce and tomatoes, shack shake uses Martin rolls, toasted in butter to give it the soft texture and sweet flavour.

The iconic New York based burger bar arrives in London; however about 3 years too late. It was a higher than normal standard âdirty burgerâ with nice juicy meat, oozing cheese and fresh vegetables but the problem I had was the niggling thought in the back of my mind that I could have avoided the queues and got a dead hippy from the Meat Market a mere hop, step and a jump away. Back in the days when GBK was home of the UKâs better burgers this would have been a god send but you can get good burgers, indeed some bloody great burgers in London now.<br/>

The beef patty itself was too thin and too docile to make an impact. The chew-y, pillow-y buns were a joy to eat.

Let's jump right in here. Is the food at Shake Shack any good? Not particularly. Is the hype justified? Well, hype is by definition hype, but the answer is again no. If McDonalds weren't in the UK currently and they opened their first branch in Covent Garden, pretty sure the blog-sphere would be going crazy about that too. And we mention the big M because when you eat at Shake Shack, you don't find yourself asking 'is this better or worse than Patty & Bun?', hell, you don't even ask yourself if it is better or worse than Byron, but what you do end up asking yourself is 'is this better than McDonalds?'. To be honest, the answer is not really. Reaching for a couple of positives here, price wise, it's pitched only slightly above McDonalds, at ÂŁ5 for a cheeseburger. Byron is ÂŁ6.75 for theirs, and many places are of course ÂŁ10 . And it is just a fast food kitchen in the same way that McDonalds is: you go to a counter, order, collect your food on a tray, eat and leave. There's some i

I loved my meal. I adored the fact that I was eating right in the heart of Covent Garden, where all the action is. It's my favorite part of London and I wish Shake Shack all the best. I'll see you soon!

The mythical NYC burger joint opening in the rainy city seemed impossible years ago. Who would have thought that Danny Meyerâs hot dog cart would have transform into a burger empire conquering not only USA but Middle East, Turkey, Russia, and London
Sybaricious
So, what about the all important burger? Very good, but no prize winning rosettes here I'm afraid. Maybe its because I went for a single compared to the doubles that I enjoyed in the US but I found the actual burger a little drier and crumblier in London and less well seasoned. It is still definitely superior to McDs or Burger King but its not reaching the heights of Meat Liquor or Patty and Bun. I think where the difference lies is that this feels like next level fast food as opposed to being a restaurant.

Shake Shack open its doors mid last year, I think, in Covent Garden and it's taken me this long to pop along and see if they measured up to the local competition and the original in New York.

It was sheer madness, I tell myself. I just had a heavy dinner and got this sudden urge to check out the burger joints, which are so popular in New York and both have now established their branches in Covent Garden. I don't know what got into me but I sent a message to AR and we are at Convent Garden at 9.30pm that very same night. AR, who has spent some time in New York has been raving about the burger joints almost the moment they are opened in London. "You must try them," he said, "they are absolutely the best!" I am two minds about giving both Five Guys and Shake Shack a go one after another but decide that that would be pure madness and a recipe for serious indigestion, especially unwise

Right, I know everyone is bored of talk about burgers. Hell, I know that I am. But the truth is, I was just a little bit excited when I heard Five Guys and Shake Shack were both London bound. Two American heavy weights, ready to duke it out on the streets of Covent Garden, one I had heard little of, the other, responsible for one of my food eureka moments. It was going to be pretty interesting how these emotions translated into foodie fact. My very own Five Guys hat. Scant reward for rude staff and a ridiculous queuing system. First day craziness The Double Bacon Cheeseburger (with stuff) Now, I won't go into the farce of opening day at Five Guys and what madness consumed me to join the queue at lunchtime, but I did and I regret it. The end product, a big greasy mess. Honestly though, it wasn't terrible. I liked the fact that you can pretty much add as many toppings as you want, but with such small patties, overloading these burgers with "stuff" will overpower any beef flavour into obl

The number reason I keep going back here is the cheesy fries ? The strawberry and chocolate milkshakes are great too! The burger buns are soft and the patty's are moist and perfectly cooked.

Localized in the Covent Garden, Shake Shack is a great a place to eat a truly kick ass burger. The orders take a while but I always prefer to wait a bit and have a memorable meal and shake shack delivered that.<br/>I asked for a smokeshack burger with simple fries. The burger was amazingly tasty, the toppings were so rich and complemented each other so well. The meat was well seasoned. I will say that altough you get completely full, the price for a single burger is a bit high. <br/>About the fries, this for me was the hero, I did not asked for the cheesy because I was doing take away and almost immediately regret it. The fries was probably the best fries I tried, crunchy, tasty, hot and mouth watering. I would pay for them whatever they asked me and I would definitely come back just for them!
Milisha Siroya
The shroom burger and cheese fries are absolutely heaven! Perfect if you're craving some greasy perfection! Also, the shakes are yummy but really heavy so make sure you don't over order. However, the sizes of the burgers are not that big and easily two can be eaten. Always a favourite.

Tender, flavourful and mouth-wateringly delicious. It's not often that I use words like that to describe a meal, let alone a burger. Yet I found myself devouring Shake Shack's latest addition to the UK family - the Shakemeister. A 100% all-natural Angus beef cheeseburger topped with crispy marinated shallots and ShackSauce - what's not to love?<br/><br/>I paired my new favourite burger with a side of cheesy fries - surprisingly tasty by American cheese standards - which were seasoned well and perfectly crispy. My ice tea (the proper un-sugared variety) was refreshing, even on a cold February evening. <br/><br/>My only regret? That I didn't get to try one of ShakeShack's famous custards. Oh well, now I have an excuse to go back for seconds.

We only went in for a shake, so cant comment on the food... but the shake was amazing. We tried one of the concrete mixers (made with frozen custard) amd it was amazing, mixed with biscuit banana and jam! The staff were also very friendly and helpfull.

Once again I've had the pleasure of visiting shake shack. Finding a table here is a bit of a mission, especially with the weather not being particularly good. I've opted for the shake shack burger (double might I add) and the cheesey fries.<br/><br/>The burger tingled on my tastebuds, flavour bursting out and cooked to perfection!!! The beef itself melts in your mouth, which is such a pleasant experience. The cheesey fries oozing with cheese but still maintaining a lovely crunch and softer inside. <br/>I always have my food here with a root beer which washes it all down nicely.<br/><br/>Definitely recommended just wish there was more inside seating. All in all fab food, will always return.

I would say this is on par with some of the best burger joints in London it's absolutely delicious and unique. I recommend anyone who loves a burger to definitely go to try this play

I must say I had much higher expectations...the fries tasted like cardboard. The burger was nothing special and their milkshakes are waaay too think that I had to suck the straw with dear life just to get a drop out.

Best pit stops of all time. As my friend says, shaky cakes, is wha you get by having it every day ...jokes. Amazing place and varsity . Simply try and have your own story . My pals and I got easily over 50 stories made just when around here. Some irony.. Ha.

Amazing hot dogs and fries! Though make sure one of you is waiting for food, while the other one trying to grab a place to sit:) as it gets a bit crowded in the evening

Two words to describe 'very disappointing '. Although there was some beef in the patty, it was simply tasteless. The person who took order didn't bother to check if I wanted any garnish. So there was no garnish to start with. The chilli fries was topped with some cream cheese and no chilli. So I just don't know why they call it chilli fries. Overall very bad experience. <br/>

Ä°t isn't as good as I thought, especially burgers but chips are quiet delicious and has a good funny shape :D The worst thing about this place, there is always a long queue, good luck with that ;)

Shake shack is pretty over rated. With meat market right around the corner don't bother with the que for a tiny little burger with very little flavour.
KS_Ate_Here
Hands up who hasn't heard of Shake Shack. Anyone not heard of how utterly gorgeous these burgers are both to tastebud and eyes? The rise and rise of Shake Shack both here and across the pond is so well documented, it's almost impossible not to be aware of its existence. It really has become an icon in the burger world, breaking into the echelon of the McDonald's and Burger King's in the States where a Shakeshack or Smokeshack is on par with a Big Mac and Whopper and since opening its doors just over a year ago in Covent Garden, the sight of a queue to order is now routine. <br/><br/>So what exactly is it that makes it so good? Is it group mentality where it's good because everyone says so? Is it hype? Or is it for real? Having waited for a few visits dotted throughout the past year until I write this post, I can say with a well rounded view (and stomach), that this really is as good as advertised. <br/><br/>Why? Well I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said. It's not just that the individual components themselves ooze quality, but it's in the way they interact and support each other to create not just a great taste but a fantastic overall experience for the senses. <br/><br/>It starts with ears as the sizzling of patties in the kitchen start you on your journey. With order in hand, your eyes take over as you undress the wrapping to reveal the burger, with the classic Shakeshack burger mirroring the image of burgers we've all grown up with. Then comes the smell as the sweet aroma of Scottish Angus beef and cheese draws you in. As you pick up the burger and your fingers sink into that cloud-like potato bun, until finally the sense of the moment takes over as the combination of beef, cheese and carbs sends you on a taste adventure. <br/><br/>But as with all romances, it's not plain sailing with my main concern being the price. With a Shakeshack double being priced at ÂŁ8 and a Smokeshack double setting you back ÂŁ10, the product certainly is priced at a premium so go expecting to spend restaurant money. But would I go back? Absolutely. <br/><br/>Also follow me on Twitter @annixontong and @wetrykai and on Instagram @annixontong.

Comi o double cheese bacon, cheese fries e o peanut butter shake. Tudo óptimo! Most real place and true to all pictures seen online. It's extremely humble in decor but generous when it comes to serving the food! Yes, I'm a fan of luxury dining but I'm more of a fan of large quantities of original tasteful food and I believe shake shack has delivered in this aspect. My own personal description of Shake shack? "Juicy and thick" and I'm loving it!! Lol
Phillip Nwaukoni
Shake shack is just another American fast food restaurant in London with a higher caliber than the more mainstream McDonald's. It does not seem that way because there is only one in London but it is definitely the situation in the U.S. The setting is like most other fast food restaurants. <br/><br/>The burgers are good but nothing special. I will how ever commend them for making it possible to add or remove items. Their chunky fries are also very good and there is a possibility of having cheese on your fries. The best part about Shake Shack in my opinion, are the shakes. I know it sounds cliché but trust me; it is worth going there just for the caramel or vanilla shakes. <br/><br/>Other than that, it is a step up from places like McDonalds, making it gourmet centered and its pricing suggests so too.

Last night my friend and I were dying for some kick ass burgers, however five guys had about 30 people waiting outside to get a burger. We decided to try shake shack which was in walking distance from five guys. The service was quick and the food was delicious, however it wasn't as great as it thought it would've been. The cheese fries are amazing. The burger was okay. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a wide variety of burgers to choose from.
Renna Creighton
Very simply, one of the best burgers I have have ever eaten. Moist, succulent and full of flavour. Brilliant. Very easy to find in the piazza in Covent Garden. The queue does go quickly, but it's well worth the wait, and it's not expensive!

Fast service and great burgers, though i heavily recommend getting a double rather than a single as he portions are quite small. Their cheesy fries are amaaaazing! Though i found their shakes nice i was more impressed with the food. <br/><br/>Located in Covent Garden, it has quite a large seating area though the the order space is small. We went for dinner so it was quite busy and as the only restaurant in London i imagine it to be busy most of the time. <br/><br/>Overall, great food, bit pricey but good quality. <br/><br/>

If you love fast food Shake Shack is the place to be. It is located in the centre of Covent Garden. You have to queue up and place your order. You get a buzzer which will buzz when your food is ready . Shake shack has other branches as well but the one in Covent Garden has seating outside and inside. <br/>The best things to order at shake shack are the burgers, fries and the frozen custards.<br/>The best burger at shake shack according to me is the cheeseburger with added cheese and bacon. The patty is not very thick but decent . The patty is quite soft. The beef is medium rare , just they way I like it. I usually like to add bacon and cheese to my burger . The bacon is quite crisp and tasty. Incase you don't like beef you can try the hot dogs. The shake shack fries with cheese are just perfect with the burgers . They are crisp and crunchy and the cheese just makes them more tasty.<br/>If you have a sweet tooth try their shakes. I really like their chocolate and fair shake.<br/>Shake shack is the perfect meal for a cheat day.

Having originally visited the shake shack in New York before London, I knew what I was getting here and I was not disappointed. One problem was that it is more overpriced in London for what you get, but no one can deny that they make very tasty burgers which are washed down perfectly by a shake. As I said at ÂŁ5 per shake, it is pretty expensive, but very yummy indeed. I will be looking to visit again when I'm in the mood for a quick bite to eat.

So for me a burger is the go to food when you're insanely hungry. Most satisfying meal after a good workout at the gym (the irony). <br/><br/>The shake shack burger has great flavours and tasted really good, being moist and soft, so it kind of melts away in your mouth. However, I was mildly disappointed by their proportions, which classifies the burger into the smaller burgers category.<br/><br/>It's situated in covent garden, which is always lovely, and has a nice outdoor seating area on the inside and outside of the jubilee market, so if you're roaming around covent garden and looking for a bite to eat, this is how you do it.

I happened to visit this place a couple of weeks ago with some of my friends and had an amazing dinner. We called for some Potato rolls and some different kinds of burgers, both of which were nicely prepared and was truly delicious. The prices were pretty reasonable as well and we had a nice overall experience.

I am a huge burger fan and this place that I visited last month was just near perfection. I loved the burger that I ordered. The bun was fresh and the sauces added just enhanced the flavour. I ordered a mushroom burger which was a little disappointment in terms of being not too fresh. The strawberry milk shake that I ordered went very well with my burger and was just the perfect one. It was neither too sweet nor did it lack any desire. Be prepared to wait for a while before you get to gorge on your meal!

I visited this place last year thinking that it must be resembling the one in US. Sadly it wasn't even close to that. I wanted to grab a quick snack and was disappointed with the burger bun itself to begin with. They were not freshly baked and were just hard to bite. The patty was over cooked and I would call it oily too. The only good thing is that the operations have become faster which has avoided the hassle of standing in large queues.

If you are looking for a shack that serves amazing beverages then this is the place for you to be in. Ever since I had visited this place for the first time, I have been a regular at this place. The pricing as compared to the food and beverages served is really cheap and affordable. They do justice with the milk shakes they have to offer. Recommended.
Alfie Wallace
If you happen to be a burger junkie then this is THE place for you. By far one of the best burgers I have ever tried. The pricing as per the portions served is excellent. The staff is very cooperative and very well coordinated. I would definitely recommend the Cheese Burger. It tastes ecstatic. Recommended highly.

This place has left a great impression on us and i am sure of more visits in future. This places makes into the top eight burger joints around. Cheese fries are to die for. Frozen custard is incredible. On the downsides, hog dogs are passable. The seating is limited and it can be extremely busy at times !
Nathan Nelson
This place turned out to be a big disappointment for us. I got a cheese burger for myself and it was incredibly greasy and the bun was very soggy. Also the chips that came along with it were not crispy and very oily. I would come back again to try their shakes and hot dogs but burgers are definitely a let down!
Evan Shepherd
Lovely place with damn nice food . The burger was a bit unhealthy , the shakes really nice. The location is wonderful. The place is generally crowded but the service is quick and efficient and so it's alright. Would recommend to everyone. Would visit soon.
Logan Burton
We weren't expecting much from the place went we went , but were pleasantly surprised with what we got . The food was nice , the burgers were good and so were the chips . We enjoyed the experience and would recommend to all . Looking forward to going there again.

I was extremely hungry when i went to this place and after a quick glance at their menu i simply ordered their double burger and it was huge for my appetite and also very yummy. The hand cut fries that came as a side were good but they came without any dip which was a downer. They also do some pretty good shakes.
 Elijah Schofield
I recently visited this place and am quite impressed. Even though it is always packed, the customers are handled in an organized way which is a good thing for a small place. The food was excellent, especially the burgers and were cooked to perfection. Even the drinks are quite good. I would love to visit this place again.
Elliot Peters
This place is really hyped and i have heard they have really really good burgers who are much better than what we are served at McDonald's or Burger King. However, the burgers are no doubt extremely tasty but slightly on drier end and was crumbling as well. I felt the seasoning less for my taste buds as well. No award winning quality rosettes either. Try it though but not with too high expectations!
Finley Greenwood
This place offers decent food, Nothing over the top but good enough and satiating! Coming to what we ordered, had a shack stack, a a cheese and mushroom burger. Simple, palatable and satiating. Also ordered, A stick toffee concrete which had really good vanilla, caramel and chocolate flavors. It is a dessert with a salty edge.
Ishika Chander
I went to this place with a certain standard of expectation for good burgers but i was really disappointed. The bun was a tad bit sweet and sticky, cheese seemed stale and the burger size was very meager. To add on to it, the burger was accompanied by gherkin chips which were too salty. Would not recommend this place!
Sunny Dasgupta
The location of this cafe is amazing and pretty convenient. Since it is a pretty popular place, you will always find large crowds queuing up outside the joint , but that is hardly a concern given the absolutely quick and efficient staff which means that you will get your order in appropriate time.<br/>I recommend trying the strawberry shake which has just the right amount of sweetness. The burger was not impressive.
Frederick Preston
There are a lot of burger joints coming to this city, most of which are simply gross. Messier and bland in taste with few hand cut fries is what usually every body serves. So i was not expecting much from this place that i went last night. But it turned out to be simply a delightful experience. Nice burgers full of flavors with equally appetizing hand cut fries cooked to perfection. Service was efficient and prompt.
Seth Curtis
The burger at this place was really yummy . It was not huge though , and didn't fill me up as expected . Everything else was good too, nothing exceptional . The desserts weren't very interesting either , they tasted like something you've already had before . Good place but don't expect anything more than the usual.
Samuel Lawrence
This is my favourite place in London to have good and filling burgers. The place is mostly crowded with patrons, however the management is extremely efficient in managing them well. Insanely wicked, their burgers have a juicy meat filling and make the overall experience all the more sumptuous and memorable. <br/><br/>You must give it a visit!
Rosie Harrison
Honestly, I came to this place looking to try a new burger and a better off burger than McD's or Burger King, but to my utmost consideration, the burger was very dry and too hard on throat. The burger I had ordered was not really very well seasoned and the garnishing part sucked. Average.
William Griffin
The place is nice with some good food , which isn't remarkable by any means . The burgers were good , and filling , nothing great about them though , and so were the desserts . Good portions , and filling , worth your money , but not the kind of place you'd want to go on a special day .
Edward Whitehead
Burger was disappointing here the bun was overcooked and was very thing too. The cheese was not goof , it was tasteless. The only think that i liked here was salty chips. They really should do something better with the food. <br/>I do not think that I will be going here again for a while.
Reuben Morrison
Decided to try out this very popular burger joint after hearing some rave reviews and was disappointed to find that the burgers there were really tiny , and the patty dry . Don't know why the place is so hyped , definitely not worth the time and money you spent there .
Skye Lloyd
You must visit this place if you are bored of the regular tastes of the fast food joints as they mostly taste very drab. <br/>This place offers its patrons yummy burgers which are served with some wicked crinkle fries. <br/>Even though I would prefer normal fries with the combination, I must say that I devour the burgers every time! <br/><br/>You should definitely give this place a try if you are craving for some wicked burgers!
Jasmine Griffiths
Two of us went to this place, ordered one burger, one medium fries and one drink each and it cost us ÂŁ35. However we left completely unsatisfied even after shelling so much money out of our pocket. The burger was okay in terms of taste. The cheese on it though seemed stale.
Theodore Burgess
This joint basically provides, up market fast food and is a bit overpriced for what what it serves. As a frequent visitor, I don't complain too much. However, over time the quality has begun to drop with the buns often tasting soggy and stale. The burger doesn't lend a fresh taste and gives out the taste of old oil. The chips ares till good to go and so is their frozen custard. <br/>If you fancy a burger it is still worth paying a visit, if in that area!
Kate Wood
The ordering system at Shake Shack could take some ironing out: queue up, order, take a little do-hickey that'll buzz when your food is ready, and then find a seat in one of the many, badly signed seating areas (there are three: two outside, one inside). There are a lot of staff milling about but somehow it's still not clear where you should be or what you should be doing. <br/><br/>However - once you get your food, you're gonna know why it was worth all that faffing. Take one bite out of your burger and you'll be glad you did. A well-informed friend of mine tells me that in Australia you can order your McDonalds burger steamed, where they compile it, and then put a dome over the top for a couple minutes, meaning that the whole thing kind of decompresses into itself, the cheese will melt and the whole thing will be deliciously gooey. I think this is what is going on here. It's a guilty, fatty, sort of squashed delight.<br/><br/>The cheese is American, bright yellow and glorious. The bacon is thick and crisped on the edges and melts in your mouth. The patty is on the thin side (we're taking fast food style) but still thick enough to just be cooked medium rare. And that's all there is folks. The bacon cheeseburger is exactly that: bacon, cheese, burger. No lettuce, no tomato, no sauce. And it's pretty perfect. And as for the bun, well, it's a greasy brioche number and the slight sweetness is just right next to salty innards of the burger.<br/><br/>As for sides, fries are crinkle cut, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I finished the whole thing off with a fifty/fifty (iced tea and lemonade). But a side note: my friend ordered just the iced tea and was warned that they do not sweeten it, if you like your iced tea sweet then go for the half & half.<br/><br/>Overall, I wasn't into the ordering/seating situation - especially not now the weather is getting so much colder and they don't have outdoor heaters - but the burger was something else.
Grace Kit
Having visited Shake Shack in New York a few times, I'd say the burgers taste exactly the same - which is great, because they are really delicious! The only difference is that the American Shake Shacks seem to have a greater variety of custards.<br/><br/>My only complaint about Shake Shack is general is the quality of the chips and their milkshakes are slightly overpriced. <br/><br/>A good option if you want decent fast food around Covent Garden
Ana Pombo
I am definitely not the biggest fan of fast food by any means, in fact, I can't remember the last time I went to a Mccdonalds. However, considering this place is fast food, it really is not bad at all!! The location is amazing, in the heart of Covent Garden, which just cannot be beat. The burgers I think are slightly overrated, they're decent considering it's fast food, but they don't blow other burgers I've had out of the water, mainly Patty & Bun. Considering there are better quality burgers in London, I think this place is quite expensive, especially when considering its marketed as fast food. <br/>However, it is good, it's a decent burger at a decent price. Great for when you're in a rush and need a quick recharge of food!

The burgers are fantastic. <br/><br/>I ordered the double shack burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was however a bit on the small side I could have easily eaten two!<br/><br/>Â The fries are excellent too, crispy and golden just perfect .Try them with cheese sauce-delicious<br/><br/>Great quality food - and a lovely location. A must try for those who enjoy burgers.<br/><br/>NB frozen custard dessert... divine
Andrea Trinchero
Basically was 5 or more for the food taste (not for the beer), but you can't spend 10 pounds for a child size burger.. I'm sorry but is TOO EXPENSIVE!!
Cecilia De Conto
FOOD: Absolutely so good. Food is awesome, I think is one of the best hamburger I had in London. Chips are quite good, the beer is not so special.<br/>PLACE: It's always overcrowded, except Sunday night :-) especially this time of the year is perfect.<br/>COST: Well, the food I said is very good but a bit too expensive, from the picture seems like you're gonna get a massive burger, it's quite normal size, and you're not gonna be seated in a normal restaurant but more in a poshy fast food place....<br/>Overall worth a try but too expensive to be the "usual burger place".
Nouha Louedi
Every time I craved fast food, I used to go to McDonalds or Burger King. But ever since I discovered this place, I don't go anywhere else. In the fast food category, I thing this is the best I've ever had. Even though it is fast food, it doesn't look or feel as unhealthy as the other ones do. Their burgers are delicious, the bun in itself is delicious, and the way they don't split it from end to end, just to leave a connection between the top one and the bottom one is genius, that way it's much easier to eat a burger. They can seem small, but they are so delicious and very satisfying. And you absolutely have to try their fries, their zigzag-shaped fries. They can be regular fries, or you can add melted cheese on top. Both are amazingly good, but when I get a burger I prefer the plain ones, otherwise it's too heavy. They are also very famous for their milkshakes, I tried one once, but I didn't think it was that exceptional, just good. Their burgers are a bit more expensive than a McDonalds' though, between ÂŁ5 and ÂŁ10, and the fries come separately , but they are totally worth every penny.
Dana
Dissatisfied completely. Long waiting time, very small portions at a high price for a burger and the chips were a let down. The burger was good but very small. <br/>I will not go back there again as I think there are better burger places in London than Shake Shack
Karan Gupta
Shake Shack is my favourite burger joint in London, and is absolutely perfect for a decadent meal. <br/><br/>It's location is fantastic in the heart of Covent Garden, a short walk from my university, so I tend to visit quite often. There is a great outdoor eating area, which is rare for a fast food restaurant. <br/><br/> I had a burger, the cheese fries, and to top it all off, a large chocolate milkshake! The burger was simply phenomenal. Although it was very heavy (and unhealthy), it was a fantastic meal and I will definitely return soon.
Meryem
Truly American in the heart of Covent Garden. The first I noticed was the friendly welcome from the staff. And for sure tasty burgers and chips.
Esha Bhivandker
Shake Shack at Covent garden, a beautiful location. The centre of attraction and a good food joint for tourists and fast food lovers. <br/>The shake burger with cheesy fries and mayonnaise is a mouth watering combination. They have a good system of ordering and collecting ordered food.<br/>This place is usually crowded at any time of the day. Surprising but yes people wait in the queue without any complaint.<br/>The food is worth the wait and time spent.<br/>Any age group of people would love this kind of food. An entire meal along with wine or a cold beverage. In frozen custards the Union shack is a must try

I know this might seem like a Bold statement by Shake Shack really is the best burger place in London ! Located in the vibrant gallery in covent garden, Shake Shack will offer you the best quality burger  in the entire city!<br/><br/>The way it works is simple: <br/><br/>- You order your food<br/>- You receive your vibrating remote<br/>- When your food is ready, you simply pick up your meal and enjoy it !<br/> <br/>I recommend trying the beef and bacon burger, the cheesy fries and as a side. Although you have to consider about £30 for two people, It is definitely worth it. This place is the closest to what real american burger experience is.

Another infamous American export, Shake Shack is known for two things - their burgers, and their frozen custard creations. The burgers are best described as drool inspiring, perfectly cooked patties with just the right amount of toppings and sauce, sandwiched into a soft bun.<br/><br/>The frozen custard, which is their alternative to ice cream or froyo, comes in a range of guises, from milkshakes to 'concretes' which are sort of like sundaes. I opted for a plain vanilla custard, and it was creamy, rich and a nice change from usual frozen deserts. As someone who doesn't like normal custard I was pleasantly surprised. <br/><br/>Overall the setting and quick service make Shake Shack a great place to get a quality burger at a fairly reasonable price, but people stay for the custard.
Manuela Fumarola
I love Shake Shack! Among all the high-quality fast-food is doubtlessly my favourite.<br/><br/>Firstly, it is located in the heart of Covent Garden, then, both if you go in a sunny day or during winter you can enjoy your meal outside- they put heaters - in a suggestive location.<br/><br/>Secondly, I love the way it works. You basically go order your meal and they give you a remote which vibrates when your order is ready and you go to collect it. Very innovative and efficient. Then, great service and amazing idea.<br/><br/>Last but not least, the food is really good. Burgers are tasty but not that heavy that makes you regret you ate it. But their forte are "Shake Shack" sauce - I have tried to reproduce it at home but it was not even similar - and the fries. I am a potato lovers and I genuinely believe, they have the most delicious fries. They are also nicely cut, perfectly golden and you can have them with melted cheese - and you really should.<br/><br/>It goes without saying that I recommend Shake Shack and that I would go there again, and again.

Ive tried Patty and Bun and many other burger joints but nothing topped my experience when I tried for the first time a double shake shack buger with extra shake shack sauce. Its true that Patty and Bun offers better fries than Shake Shack and not to forget it has the best chicking wings I have ever tried in my life however burgerwise Shake Shack in my opinion is ranked the best Burger in London due to its juiciness and top quality taste of meat.

Food: American<br/><br/>Price: Around £20 for two people<br/><br/>Atmosphere: Fun, Busy, Friendly<br/><br/>Review: I really love Shake Schack, the size of their burger is great and their french fries are funky. Even if you have to queue for 10-15 minutes, when your order arrive you really think that it was worth it. <br/><br/>The restaurant is always full and busy and it is very rare to go to this place at a "quiet time". I will not recommend this place for an on-the-go meal, as you might wait a little bit and the size of the burgers does not able you to eat it quickly.<br/><br/>The waiters are quick, like any other fast food, and very nice, just the appearance of their burgers is very appealing and encourage you to try everything. Their milkshakes are really nice for the dessert.
Fiona Lord
This is probably the closest thing there is to the best fast food ever. They make amazing burgers! Really good! Perfectly cooked and seasoned! For a burger eater who always eats burgers with ketchup; I promise you, that with these ones, ketchup will not be needed. If you havenât been, go! Definitely recommend this place! The little patio in Covent Garden is really cute and you even get this little buzzer that lets you know when your food is ready.
Shruti Shetty
One of the best burgers in the town . The place situated in the midst of Covent Garden is a very busy burger joint. Very often there are long queues to place the order itself. But it is totally worth the wait. The Smoke shack  burger is highly recommended .One should NOT MISS OUT on the cheesy fries. This combination will definitely be a treat to all the foodies out there.

When Shake Shack came to London, to say I was excited is an understatement. I couldn't wait to get my hands on a burger and their legendary cheesy fries.<br/><br/>Located in the heart of the Covent Garden Piazza, this branch is easily accessible for Londoners and tourists. You can choose to sit in the Piazza or in an indoor area - depending on the weather really!<br/><br/>The moment your buzzer lights up signals that your order is ready and I run to the counter every time! <br/><br/>The burger is perfectly seasoned with sauce and vegetables, the only thing is it's slightly small. However, this is made up by the large portion of cheesy fries they offer. So after having both, you definitely feel full.<br/><br/>If you're a burger lover, go, go, go!!

Aconselho!

With a lovely terrace right in the centre of the Covent Garden Market, this dynamic restaurant gives us the opportunity to eat great fast food with and not feel guilty about it.<br/>Its successful story began with a food cart inside Madison Square Park and now is growing worldwide.<br/>It is hard to decide whats to choose in the menu, everything seems divine  and teases you with some kind of food extravagance that is necessary once in a while in our lifetime.<br/>The chosen meal was the Shack Stack burguer with Cheese Fries: a sandwich that brings together veggie burger with the classical angus burguer... a little bit of everything because yes, there we can have it all. and it was just like being hugged by my mom and dad in a cold winter night.<br/>Plus they have good choices of beer which is a nice thing for everyone that wants to skip the diet in great style!
Rob King
Massively disappointing if you're expecting this Shake Shack to be anything like the version you tried in NYC. Burgers lack flavour, fries different, milkshake less rich. Very expensive when you put it against MeatMarket nearby, or Tommi's etc. Staff were absolutely appalling eg needed a well done burger for my pregnant wife (burger craving!) which was served medium rare - the spotty kid behind the counter laughed and didn't get it at all. I'll never return and suggest you don't bother.

Iâm pretty glad I waited until the insurmountable marketing machine that was the launch of Shake Shack UK subsided until giving it a go. Because it made me appreciate just how farcical an anti-climax the whole experience was.<br/><br/>Itâs difficult to not make comparisons to fellow patty peddler Five Guys down the road. Shake Shack is definitely a classier act, at least from a glance. The logos are tastefully designed, the colours less brashly American â but the setting is ridiculously grandiose for what youâre about to eat. Listening to a string quartet bash out Mozart is lovely, but is it the best soundtrack to throwing a burger and chips down your chute? That would be a negative.<br/><br/>The kitchen also seems an altogether smaller operation. I wasnât exactly sent reeling by the service mind; the till girl, unsure whether she had captured my name for the order, hollered, âdid I arks you that already?â Iâve no idea my dear, I donât speak Dappy.<br/><br/>The burgers were nice enough. I canât muster up enough enthusiasm to say much more than that. Vâs âshack burgerâ (cheeseburger) was flat even for a single, and much like my smoke shack (as above but sans lettuce and added bacon and cherry peppers) it took less than a minute for it to disintegrate in her mouth. The âshack sauceâ on both was pretty tasty though, and the chopped peppers are a nice touch.<br/><br/>Fries comes crinkle cut which means theyâre overly crunchy; I normally like a bit of softness to my chips but these were actually very moreish. I wish Iâd stuck to the plain rather than cheese variety though â the cinema nacho snot that covered my portion was rank. If thatâs a âcheddar cheese blendâ as the menu says then Iâm Roy Walker with a strap on. Itâs a great answer but itâs not right.<br/><br/>Those with a sweet tooth will be loving the frozen custard range on offer. V and I shared a âunion shackâ concrete and I have to say it was mighty fine. Thanks mainly to St John Bakery chocolate hazelnut brownie lurking within choc ice cream and gooey fudge sauce. But again, the cynical part of me thinks itâs only as good as Ben and Jerryâs out of the tub at a fraction of the price.<br/><br/>Months of Twitter buzz, weeks of stencil art advertisement, hours of queuing; it all boils down to maybe 20 minutes of alright tasting, over-priced food. Iâve deliberately rated Shake Shack lower than Five Guys as the gap between what this place aspires to be, and what youâre actually getting, is light years apart. The fact that a month ago people were camping out to get this stuff says more about a certain type of Londonerâs desperation to find The Next Big Thing than anything I can think of. Worth a venture only if youâre passing.

I was urged to visit Shack Shack after hearing great things. Visited here for lunch on Monday and wasn't too busy - only few people queued (mostly tourists). To be honest I was disappointed with ShackBurger and Shack-cago Dog. I'd rather have a burger from Burger King. But I loved the chips as they were hot and crispy! :)

Who doesn't enjoy a nice juicy burger with the most perfectly shaped, cooked and seasoned fries? Shake shack is one place where the quality of food will never fail to disappoint you. Their perfectly cooked burger patties, with caramelized shallots is truly a mouth watering experience. Located in the center of Covent Garden, this restaurant is a must go! The long queues and limited seating can sometimes be a problem, but the end outcome is definitely worth the wait!<br/><br/>Even though they're well known for their burgers, the decadent milkshakes are a bonus that one should never miss out on! Friends that shack together stay together being their motto is something my group of friends abide by! Weekly visits to this calorie filled restaurant is something we can never cross of our list and never will! To those who love this kind of food, i would recommend Shake Shack without even thinking twice!

I was very excited to try this with the bf. After all he was the one who suggested it since he is the true foodie fanatic. <br/>First we went after work when the whole world wants to eat. We queued for a good 20-30 mins which was fairly annoying since it was quite cold outside at the time. After we made our order we found outside seating and tucked in. <br/>The burgers I loved. The chips I loved. The milkshake I loved. I really really enjoyed it. However the bf didn't find it satisfying, in fact he was disappointed. <br/>I still haven't found a burger better than Patty and Bun.

YUM! That's all i have. If you loves carbs and mouth watering and having sugar high. Go to this place. They got excellent services, yummy food, and don't forget to order fries with cheese and they got the best milkshake evuhh

I was really disappointed with Shake Shack, maybe it just did not live up to the hype. 8 of us went there after hearing so much about this new burger joint and although it was busy we had no trouble getting a seat.<br/><br/>I had the SmokeShack Double with Cheese Fries and a Milkshake. The burger was pertty basic and what seemed like a cheap bun you can buy from a supermarket. If the prices were similar to McDonalds I can understand the value of Shake Shack however you are paying similar prices to that of GBK and Hache which serves superior burgers. Â The burgers and fries I can deal with but what really bothered me was that the only straw they provide for the milkshake was so thin it was near enough impossible to take a drink. This should be a very cheap burger joint and at ÂŁ20 for a meal I rather eat somewhere else.
Sunny In London
If you havenât been to Shake Shack in London yet, Iâm sorry. Iâm just sorry. You really donât know what youâre missing.<br/><br/>Sunny friends, let me give you 5 reasons why you must go to Shake Shack. Now!<br/>1. Shake Shack is the best deal for a burger.<br/><br/>You may remember the Burger and Lobster review I wrote a few months ago. I was very impressed by the quality of the burger. However, the price tag is a whopping ÂŁ20. The Double Shack Cheeseburger is ÂŁ7.50. Itâs 100% Aberdeen angus beef, which is grass fed on Scottish pastures. Itâs damn juicy.<br/>In fact, itâs served wrapped tightly in paper. By the time you are finished, the paper is soaked, your hands are gooey, and your stomach is full!<br/>Mr. Sunnyâs Smoke Shack (Cheeseburger topped with British free range Wiltshire cure smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper and Shack Sauce)<br/>2. Shake Shack has beer.<br/><br/>Unlike typical other street burger joints, Shake Shake also has beer and wine (white, red and rose). Although I skipped the wine options, Mr. Sunny was very excited about having beer with his beefcake. He happily washed them down together. Ahhhhhh!<br/>3. Shake Shack has custard.<br/><br/>For the month of April, Shake Shack featured these flavours:<br/>- Monday, Honey Roasted Peanut<br/>- Tuesday, Arabic Coffee Crunch<br/>- Wednesday, Chocolate Mint Fudge<br/>- Thursday, Strawberry Blonde<br/>- Friday, Malted Marshmallow Milk Chocolate<br/>- Saturday, Salted Caramel<br/>- Sunday, Red Velvet<br/>Custard is always a great way to get a scoop of inner sunshine!<br/><br/>If youâre curious about May, keep an eye on their Custard Calendar.<br/>4. Shake Shack is in Covent Garden.<br/><br/>Sunny readers know this is my favourite place in the world. While Iâm not a fan of the constant flood of tourists, I adore the charm of this London area. Shake Shack is located in the heart of the historic market building.<br/>They offer you the option of eating either inside or out. <br/>And, they do a really fabulous job of monitoring the queue. Mr. Sunny and I got lucky the day we visited. However, donât be surprised if you have to wait for your juicy adventure in theseâŠItâs worth it. Trust me.<br/>5. Theyâre very active on social media.<br/><br/>As a blogger, I pay close attention to how a company or small business engages with followers on social media. Shake Shack is a sure thing!<br/><br/>They seem to follow back and retweet everyone who reaches out to them. I love that. Theyâre one of my favourite Twitter accounts to follow.<br/><br/>They make following them worth your while by having promotions you donât want to missâŠ<br/>Finally, theyâre truly marketing geniuses. With the most photogenic burger in the town, Shake Shack rocks the mother of all Instagram accountsâŠ<br/>So, thereâs 5 solid reasons why you need to shake, shake, shake your booty on over to Shake Shack. Iâve also had the pleasure of enjoying Shake Shack at the JFK airport in New York City. The quality of food and service is equally as outstanding.<br/><br/>Get thee to Shake Shack, Sunny friendsâŠ
Maybe It's Because
By Esin Huseyin<br/>You might be thinking to yourselves; "does she eat anything other than burgers?" The answer is of course, yes, but i choose to eat mainly burgers - they've got your carbs, protein, and vegetable intake all in one sizeable meal.<br/><br/>So of course the #burgertour continues and we decided to pop our little heads and large appetites in to the Covent Garden branch of Shake Shack.<br/><br/>Shake Shack is essentially Mcdonalds/Burger King in a prom dress; not because of the quality of the food, but because of the service. You're given a laminated menu, queue in this tiny room, place your order, and then you're given a buzzer and asked to wait until...well...it buzzes. There was no character, or much of a personal feel that you would get at a restaurant, just a fast service.<br/><br/>I ordered the SmokeShack (Cheeseburger topped with British free range Wiltshire cured bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShakeSauce) as well as the cheese fries; I was a bit hesitant about the crinkle cut chips, because I always feel that they're super soggy, and that is just nastaay. But, one thing I will tell you is that these chips... oh my... a crispy exterior with an incredibly soft centre. Absolute perfection.<br/><br/>Now, the cheese on these chips deserves it's own paragraph. I don't know whether it was cheese sauce, American cheese,or some sort of cornflour concoction - but, I don't know how I feel about the cheese, as it genuinely didn't taste of anything. Absolutely, nothing. I might as well have eaten the carboard along with the chips. Next time I'll most definitely be getting the plain fries - lesson learnt.<br/><br/>Now on to the main thing, the burger, I genuinely found the portion size rather small (truth be told, I felt like a giant handling a child's burger) but I did purchase the single - you can opt for a double if you want. The beef patty isn't your usual uniformed circular shape, but I quite liked that, it felt more fresh and handmade, not as processed as other fast food joints.<br/><br/>The patty itself was moist (God, I hate that word), but I felt in comparison to some of the burgers I've tasted, it did lack seasoning. However, the cherry peppers gave it that beautiful amount of spice and crunch that it craved. I like the idea that this company has come across the pond to grace us with their culinary delights, and has actually adopted things like Wiltshire cured bacon as part of their menu; it makes for a great talking point, and in today's market where everyone wants to know where things are sourced, it's great to highlight local ingredients.<br/><br/>You'll often find people queuing, or going out of their way to park their bottoms over at Shake Shack. But, I feel that whilst this brand attempts fast and tasty finger food through their own personality and ethos, they're not as individual as they think - the ShackSauce was essentially just burger sauce.<br/><br/>My negative comments aside, it was fairly reasonable in price (about ÂŁ12ish), and the food was pretty tasty - it just wasn't the best I've ever had.<br/><br/>If you want to see our other non-food related reviews and features please visit our site.

The vegetarian burger is great as is the peanut butter milkshake. Quick service and great location.

Shake shack deserves high praise for its role as one of the restaurants leading the way London's recent boom of burger joints. Shack shack provides delicious bugers at a rapid place in a buzzing location, and though somewhat pricey, is still certainly worth trying!

And another blah burger. Had to check again if I had mistakenly walked into Five Guys.<br/><br/>It was a burger - had lettuce & bacon and of course the patty itself. That's pretty much it.<br/>Disappointment also stemmed from the fabulous location they have taken up within the old market and then just another fancy McDonald's burger being served.<br/><br/>Thumbs up for the cheese fries though!

I know Iâm a bit late on this one, but youâll soon forgive me as the food porn is well worth the wait.<br/><br/>Shake Shack finally floated across the pond and swung open its doors smack bang in the middle of Covent Garden early July this year.<br/>Londoners & expats alike queued up for hours, desperate to get a bite of New Yorkâs famous burgers.<br/><br/>I was away in America at the time, but as soon as I returned, I was determined to size up Londonâs most recent burger addition.<br/><br/>Now I know what youâre thinking, another bloody burger restaurant!?<br/><br/>The critics and bloggers went wild for the much anticipated arrival, not all of which particularly enjoyed their bite of the American style burger.<br/>Yet, Shake Shack soldiered on, with their Covent Garden venue being complately packed out everyday.<br/><br/>When I finally got the chance, I marched my way down to Covent Garden ready to well and truly tuck in after all that pre-holiday healthy eating. <br/><br/>I perused the menu before making my choice.<br/>I of course had to go for the classic Shack Burger, a cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce.<br/>Whatâs ShackSuace? you ask.<br/>A crazy combination of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, dill pickle, garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper which is then slathered all over your burger like frosting on a cake.<br/><br/>Since this was a celebratory feast of sorts (celebrating the opening of Shake Shack, obviously) I also decided I needed to try the SmokeShack Burger. This is an utterly filthy cheeseburger topped with a glorious combination of British free range Willshire cure smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers and ShacksSauce. <br/><br/>To accompany the burgers, a mandatory order of crinkle cut fries was made.<br/><br/>The burgers themselves were great, chips were crunchy and delicious, but I realised what has all the criticsâ knickers in a twist.<br/><br/>Londonâs recent burger blow up has been all about the gourmet burger.<br/>Shake Shackâs fast food contestant doesnât fight at the same weight as Londonâs other competitors, which is why there has been a little let down amongst diners.<br/>It is however, a delicious fast food burger made from good quality ingredients, served in a darling atmosphere.<br/><br/>Now for you Shake Shack virgins, I have one final tip.<br/>Order a concrete.<br/>Whatâs a concrete you ask? all bright eyed with wonder.<br/>A concrete is a heavenly dessert of dense frozen custard ice cream that has been blended at a high speed and is served with your choice of mix-ins.<br/><br/>Chocolate and vanilla custard with marshmallow sauce was deliciousâŠ<br/><br/>The chocolate and vanilla custard topped with peanut butter and gooey chocolate hazlenut brownies from St. JOHN Bakery.<br/>Swoon! <br/><br/>Now if youâre still reading and havenât immediately run down to Shake Shack to join the queue, just remember to gauge your expectations.<br/>The burgers are great and venue is perfect for a group meal with friends or fun date.

Had my first Shake Shack experience and was impressed, although not blown away. The restaurant in Covent Garden piazza had massive queues when it opened, but was easy to get served and find a seat when I went there last week. They have loads of tables on both sides of the restaurant, inside and out. <br/>When you order you are given a pager that goes off when your meal is ready and you collect it through a hatch in the side of the restaurant.<br/>Having eaten a shedload of beef burgers of late I decided to order Shake Shack's vegetarian option, the Shroom, which consists of a crisp-fried crumbed portobello mushroom, with tomato, lettuce and the restaurant's signature ShackSauce. It looked kinda small compared to some of the other burgers in town, but was delicious. Melted muenster and cheddar cheese oozed out at the first bite, and combined with the really thick mushroom and ShackSauce for a great overall taste. For vegetarians, who are often paid lip sevice by eateries, this is a cracking, tasty option and I'd recommend it to anyone - carnivores alike.<br/>I was less impressed with the cheesey fries. They look good but the cheese goes cold and hardens pretty quickly, and they're not as tasty as I'd hoped for.<br/>I also ordered some Jungle concrete - a tub of frozen custard with marshmallows. This was incredibly sweet and not really my thing, but would be perfect for children and sweet tooths. In fact Shake Shack in general is a good family restaurant your kids will get a buzz out of.<br/>All in all it was pretty good - the burger was fantastic - but the sides super-slick on a par with big, established fast food franchises. The ingredients are all premium and the price (ÂŁ5.25 for the Shroom) good value compared to a lot of its gourmet burger rivals.<br/><br/>For my all-round comparison with some other top burger joints read this article: http://www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/going-out/shake-shack-vs-patty--3583246

Been here twice now and both experiences were pleasant. The first time I went, there was a long queue for the food and it wasn't the easiest of tasks to find somewhere to sit. However the queue did end up moving along quite quickly. The second time I went, there was no queue and my friends and I managed to get a comfortable booth inside.<br/>During both if my visits I had the portobello mushroom burger (the only vegetarian burger) with the cheese on fries. The burger is definitely tasty but in my opinion it contained a bit too much cheese. So the second time I went here, I just shared the burger with a friend, who is also vegetarian.<br/>The cheese on fries, on the other hand, were simply amazing! The best cheese on fries I've had anywhere. The fries are crinkle cut and are light and fluffy and the cheese was so tasty and definitely not too much in terms of taste. It was the perfect combination and you don't feel like you've just eaten a block of fat! I almost got up to order another dish!<br/>It's definitely a top end fast food restaurant, where the food is of great quality and taste....I would recommend going to Shake Shack if it's a quick and easy, yet tasty meal you're looking for.

Wow wow wow!<br/>Shake Shack is up there in the top five burgers. Had the Shake Stack burger which took me for surprise when i bit into the breaded portobello mushroom. Cheese just burst out all onto the burger, which for me was a great shock to the taste buds so that topped it up for the day. Also had the shack cago dog (hot dog) which was also a good touch but not being a fan of celery should have gone for something else, such as another burger. All in all it was one of the best burger experiences to date and would be visiting more regularly.

Just as the Shake Shack & Five Guys burgerbuzz was starting to die down, some numpty wrote an article in The Sunday Times on 2013 food trends, thanking the two American chains for bringing great burgers to London. I never got round to writing up my trips as I was pretty underwhelmed, but now seems the right time to put it up. <br/><br/>One can only assume this "expert" was living under a rock for most of the year, and somehow failed to notice the pre-existing London front-runners (Patty&Bun, BBQ Whiskey Beer, MEATliquor, Tommi's Burger Joint, Dirty Burger, Honest Burgers, BOOM Burger, Disco Bistro and more). I appreciate that the average person may not have heard of many of them, but the average person isn't writing a foodie article for a national newspaper. Surely Byron (who continue to do great things) and GBK deserve most of the credit for pushing burgers forward here a few years ago? It was a lazy, ill-informed piece of journalism that hopefully won't influence too many Londoners looking to get on board the burger train in 2014. Anyway, here are my thoughts:<br/><br/>Wednesday 17th July - Back in July, we needed to see what all the fuss was about, though not at the expense of 90 minutes of my life on the opening weekend when Murray was powering through his Wimbledon semi-final. We went along a week or two later, and bravely decided to go to both burger joints in the same lunch time.<br/><br/>First up was Shake Shack in Covent Garden Piazza. Will and I were ushered into the fast moving queue and given some menus to peruse. We discussed our eating tactic for the day ahead, and were joined by Taro just as we made it to the front (15 minutes queue at lunch time). Shake Shack is a well oiled machine, and we were soon handed our food collection buzzers before going off in search of a table.<br/><br/>The collection system works fine until you order alcohol, which they have to serve to the table themselves. I therefore had a fairly awkward walk to my seat carrying my burger on a tray whilst a waitress brought my pint of Shackmeister Ale, a tasty draught lager brewed for them by Brooklyn Brewery. There are other interesting bottled beer options too.<br/><br/>The SmokeShack burger (cheese & bacon) was pretty tasty and disappeared within a few seconds. The meat was nicely cooked, the buns were pleasingly squishy and the mysterious ShackSauce held its own. The simpler Shackburger (cheeseburger) also got a thumbs up. The Shack Stack sounds interesting with both a cheeseburger and a crisp-fried portobello mushroom stuffed with cheese inside. The burgers are fairly good value (ÂŁ4.75-ÂŁ9) though they are on the small side. They also have a range of hot dogs, all under ÂŁ5. The crinkle cut fries are disappointing, but don't spoil the meal.<br/><br/>On the dessert front Shake Shack put in more effort than most, serving up a wide range of ice creams ("Frozen Custard") in milkshake and "concrete" formats with some tempting varieties such as the Union Jack - chocolate custard, St.John Bakery chocolate brownie, fudge sauce, Paul.A.Young chocolate chunks and sea salt. We happily shared a large double (ÂŁ6.50) between three. Bizarrely, they also sell dog treats!<br/>

When youâre chatting to a member of staff at the one of the most eagerly awaited restaurants to hit London, the last thing you expect them to say is âI donât really rate the burgers, I prefer GBKâ. This guy seemed genuinely flummoxed at Shake Shackâs popularity. We were mildly amused, but also saddened that the staff may not be as passionate as the customers.<br/><br/>More than a week late to the party, the huge Covent Garden site was still heaving. Meanwhile, a (passionate this time) member of staff flown in from New York admires the building crowd. He said the queue waiting time has been a steady 45 minutes since Shake Shack opened their first UK site on July 5th. But we know for a fact that the queue has been longer â a group of âfriends of friendsâ bought a box of lager and âmade a night of itâ, such is the appeal of this burger mecca. Sat in the piazza while opera booms out from below us we felt like tourists in London, in a good way, not an eating at an Aberdeen Steak House sense.<br/><br/>For the full review and more pictures go to http://welovefood-itsallweeat.com/2013/07/28/concrete-garden-where-dreams-are-made-of-shake-shack-24-market-building-the-piazza-london-wc2e-8rd/

I recently got into Shake Shack. Their burgers are yummy and juicy and their crinkle cut fries are delicious. If you can get there at a time when it's not crowded, you can grab a nice seat in the middle of Covent Garden and the line shouldn't be too long. Their frozen custard is well worth trying but it is their burgers where they win - small but delicious meat.

Yes, it is true! Shake Shack, the upscale fast food chain from the US, has crossed the big pond and opened its first London shack!<br/><br/>My friends in the US are constantly raving about Shake Shack burgers. I had never tried one before so couldnât wait to see what the hype was all about.<br/><br/>Opened earlier this month on American Independence Day, Shake Shack has a spectacular location in Londonâs busy Covent Garden Piazza Market.<br/><br/>Pictured here is the Shack Shack seating area in the middle of the market.<br/><br/>The bad news: the dreaded queue (or line!). We Brits love to queue which means that the Shake Shack queue is long and often spills out of the market on to the street.<br/><br/>The good news: the queue looks worse than it actually is thanks to a super quick and efficient order management process.<br/><br/>Hubby waited patiently in the queue while I grabbed the first table in sight. Order was placed within 20 minutes and ready for pick up in another 8 minutes. Not bad, considering we expected to be waiting for at least 45 minutes in the queue itself!<br/><br/>I ordered the single ShackBurger (Cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and Shack Sauce), hubby went for the double SmokeShack (Cheeseburger topped with British free range Wiltshire cured smoke bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce). We shared the Cheesy Fries and the Frozen Marshmallow Custard & Brownie with our hungry toddler!<br/><br/>To be honest, I expected a giant, sloppy mess and was surprised by the relatively dainty burger placed before me. One bite, and I was sold! It was as gorgeous as it looks. What I liked most was that I didnât feel uncomfortably full after my meal â it was the perfect size.<br/><br/>The crinkled, cheesy fries were the right balance of crispy and gooey. I fought my toddler for these!! Truly drool worthy!<br/><br/>I didnât care for the frozen marshmallow custard too much but the boys seemed to enjoy it!<br/><br/>Shake Shack prides itself on its high quality food, made with premium ingredients and sold at fast food prices and they most certainly get it right!<br/><br/>In addition to burgers, the Shake Shack menu also includes a variety of hot dogs and shakes. The veggie option, aka Shroom Burger (Crisp fried portobello mushroom filled with melted cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce) seems quite popular and looks fabulous too. I definitely plan on ordering the Shroom Burger next time!<br/><br/>Loved my first Shake Shack experience and will be back for more as soon as the burger craving strikes again. Definitely the best high end fast food burger in London town!!

I love the branding; itâs cute, simple and inviting.<br/><br/>The Shack stack is a cheeseburger, stuffed with a huge crisp fried breaded mushroom stuffed with cheese. Topped with lettuce and tomatoes, shack shake uses Martin rolls, toasted in butter to give it the soft texture and sweet flavour. The mushroom was absolutely gorgeous, meaty and tasty, and the beef had a good intense flavouring.<br/><br/>The cheese fries, had a nice runny sauce and hand cut, twice fried with a crisp like texture. It was the highlight of my meal. Avoid the fresh brewed ice tea, it was watered down and had no flavour whatsoever.<br/><br/>

Better burger than Five Guys I think and worth going there. Nice fries and OK priced. I'd put it among the top burger places in London

Good 'smoke shack burger, decent fries and a tasty vanilla malt. Only complaint: burger could have been cooked a bit less. Until Umami Burger transplants themselves over here, it'll have to do.

In New York, I tried my first Shake Shack and so added my name to the thousands of Shake Shack fans around the world. Our first Shake Shack outing was in Manhattan's Madison Square garden on one of the hottest days of a New York summer.<br/><br/>My 2nd outing was in a Christmas setting at the outlet's new London opening in Covent Garden. Festive baubles and a mulled wine on the side and we're sitting in open air seating surrounded by festive shoppers.<br/><br/>The menu comprises of burgers and hot dogs in the meat category and frozen custards for dessert. I want a cream soda float, but for some strange reason despite the menu saying Cream soda, what the Covent Garden outlet actually serves is Fanta. Not cool.<br/><br/>I order the Shack-Cago dog, a standard hot dog with all the best of the American condiments arranged on top - onion, mustard, relish and all that is good.<br/><br/>The fries are pretty standard fare, but the dog is one of the best. Good quality meat, no nasty gritty bits and the toppings seal the deal.

Great burgers, great shakes but not too big on the crinkle fries.

Having heard a lot about Shake Shack I finally decided to give it a try this weekend. This is of course one of the many burger joints which have recently became the rage around town. And just like me I am sure you know someone who has claimed that this is the definitive best amongst the lot - so I really wanted to know what the fuss is about !<br/><br/>The thing I noticed when I got here was the size of the place. There is a lot of seating ! This is a good thing as it is generally quite annoying to go to one of these famous burger places only to have to wait in queue for 30-45min just to get seated (think meat liquor or patty & bun)<br/><br/>I also appreciate the fact that menu is small and succinct. There is no fuss about creating 10 or 15 burgers and a myriad of choice of sides. They keep it simple. There is basically the beef burger and then the vegetarian shroom burger or a combo of the two. And on the side there is either the fries or the cheese fries. <br/><br/>Now the important bit - how does it all taste then? I mean there is little to fault to it, the burger is good. But at the same time I would not go all ga-ga about it neither. It is NOT some magical burger which makes you crave for more and NOR is it the best burger you will ever eat. It's just a very good burger- done about right the way it should be done. <br/><br/>I'd probably come back here just for the convenience of being in the middle of covent garden and knowing I'd probably not need to queue up long for food. And also that the food is decent. But don't go here thinking it's gonna change the way you think about burgers or give you some amazing culinary experience. <br/><br/>It's simple<br/>It's efficient <br/>It's good<br/>And also it's inexpensive!

I do a lot of things âas a matter of principleâ. Often a guise for what is essentially my unequivocal stubbornness, wave a âprinciple counterâ over me and my reading is click-clicking off the chart. While this may initially sound like a virtuous trait, it really isnât. <br/><br/>For example, when driving, I will continue ahead in my correct lane even though I know the cretin next to me in the wrong lane also wants to carry on forwards. By neither of us dropping back, it is inevitable we will bump cars. But I am in the right, he is in the wrong. I am therefore exempt from any bolts of wrath and misfortune from above. And so I donât move, as a matter of principle. Personal beliefs still upheld, but car bumped (true story). <br/><br/>At few other points in life do I flex my muscles of principle more than when the latest fad is sweeping the nation. Fifty Shades of Grey, Angry Birds, Harlem shaking, planking are all examples of crap crazes I have refused to entertain, as a matter of principle. If it pleases the masses, the bitter cynic in me makes the immediate assumption it wonât please me. Turns out my theory doesnât have a 100% success rate; who knew.<br/><br/>The American burger chain Shake Shack opened its first set of doors on UK soil earlier this month, specifically on Covent Garden soil and only a week apart from one of its largest American competitors, Five Guys.<br/><br/>They, and others, have been riding the crest of the wave that is the recent and all-encompassing UK burger resurgence. <br/><br/>With PR machines and social media working overtime to create trending hashtags and an Instagram meltdown prior and during openings, launches of these fast-food-with-finesse joints have seen early adopters queuing for tens of minutes at a time to be one of the first to get their chops around the newest best burger in town.<br/><br/>As a matter of principle, I have refused to be swept up in these initial fanatical flurries of overzealous and disproportional activity, whilst at the same time reading reviews with the simultaneously furrowed and cocked brow of a sceptic. <br/><br/>However, I did eat in a Shake Shack in NYC a couple of years back. And I do recall it being very good. And on that basis and that basis alone, in the name of objective comparison, I saw it my duty to see what this Covent Garden store had to offer. That was definitely my soul motivation..<br/><br/>Situated in the old Market Building at the centre of Covent Garden, Shake Shack comprises of the premises housing a band of cash registers backed by the kitchen and only al fresco seating (although dining areas are covered by the Market Building roof). <br/><br/>Along with your name, you give your order to the well trained and smiling till staff and a buzzer youâre handed makes a racket once the food is ready to collect from the pick-up counter. We were a party of three, each ordering the double Smoke Shack - essentially a bacon cheeseburger with two beef patties. I also ordered the Union Shack concrete (ice cream) and there were a couple of portions of crinkle cut chips on the table.<br/><br/>Burgers Iâm used to are an assembly of quite separate components. Two halves of a well structured bun with a pattie betwixt and toppings involved somewhere in the gathering. It is easy to separate each piece out to decorate your plate and systematically work your way round the constituent parts if that's your thing (I have actually witnessed this method of eating a burger). <br/><br/>But at Shake Shack, you are presented with a single soft mass of yielding savoury and juicy wonder. The patties, cheese and bun unite into palate coating mushy magnificence rendering them impossible to dissect. <br/><br/>In one mouthful you can enjoy an amalgamation of meaty grease from the smashed patty, slight sweetness from the toasted bun, a whisp of heat from chopped cherry pepper, oozing American-style cheese, saltiness from the crisp bacon and tang from the signature Shake Shack sauce (like a piquant mayonnaise); together they send the pleasure receptors into a manic frenzy.<br/><br/>Shake Shack are not quiet about all their ingredients (bar the buns which are flown in from America) being carefully sourced from UK farms and suppliers. The beef is 100% raised Aberdeen Angus, grass fed on Scottish pastures and they refrain from ever using hormones or antibiotics on their cows. <br/><br/>The meat is ground daily and burgers are cooked to order rather than left drying out under a heat lamp. Each patty consists of 1/4lb of this beef smashed onto the grill for an intensely flavoured and slightly caramalised crust. Yes please.<br/><br/>Bacon is free-range Wiltshire cure smoked. The imported buns are typical of an American burger (as opposed to brioche or posh bread options often found in the UK) and similar to Martinâs potato rolls with the inclusion of potato flour - an excellent choice for absorbing dripping goodness. <br/><br/>In a moment of madness and excited anticipation, we all completely forgot to request any toppings and in fact failed to even notice them on the menu. The one thing I felt was missing from the burger was only absent due to my lack of attention - pickles. A good enough reason to return for me.<br/><br/>Chips were sturdy and crisp on the outside with fluffy middles and essentially pretty good (Iâm not the worldâs biggest fries fan). The Union Shack concrete that rounded off my meal consisted of frozen chocolate custard, bites of chocolate and hazelnut brownies, fudge sauce, shrapnel of bitter dark chocolate and a touch of sea salt - a thick, dense and very chocolatey ice cream with lots to bite down on and served in a cardboard drink cup.<br/><br/>My verdict here is that despite the irritating initial fanfare, I really enjoyed this meal. Compared to other burgers Iâve eaten in this country, Shake Shack offers something quite unique - itâs just not like any other Iâve had. In all fairness, I havenât eaten at enough of the competitors to form an entirely informed opinion based on adequate comparisons, but who the hell cares. <br/><br/>Shake Shack burgers are so good I could easily eat one for breakfast. No doubt that says more about me than the burger.<br/><br/>Liked lots: burger, chopped cherry pepper, nice staff, location, covered al fresco dining, concretes, a short and quick queue <br/>Liked less: slightly confusing entrances and exits to the queue and ordering<br/>Good for: a quick bite, al fresco dining, significantly exceeding your daily intake of saturated fat, jumping on the bandwagon<br/><br/>My rating: 5/5
Foodie And Fabulous
I went on a saturday with three friends.<br/>We had to queue for about 15mins which wasnt too bad. <br/>It did feel a bit like an upscale mcdonalds/fast food restaurant..<br/>You weren't seated, you have to order first and then find a seat. It was busy and this took another 15mins to do.<br/>The staff were very friendly, accomodating and helpful.<br/>The burger was nice. Kind of small for the single burger. But good meat. All the burgers came with cheese. I would have prefered salad in the burger and the chips we alright.<br/>This restaurant is average. Id go again but i wouldnt be running to try the restaurant again.

It was ok, but nothing special. I was expecting a lot more, especially when I have waited in the queue for 40 minutes.

Not worth the wait. It ain't Shake Shack NYC, that's for sure. All hype, no substance.

The battle of the burger is becoming super competitive in London⊠With the arrival of Shake Shack from the US, I just have to give it a tryâŠ<br/><br/>The reason why I try it so late is because I want it to settle down properly, to really see the full potential of Shake Shack and You know what, its pretty good<br/><br/>I heard of Shake Shack first from my good friend uploading a photo of it in NYC and it made me hungry⊠Thanks to Daniel Young from young&foodish i was able to realise that it was coming overâŠ<br/><br/>So then let see what I think is a pretty decent burger<br/><br/>First the ShackStack, cheese, single patty, lettuce, tomato, Shack sauce and crisp fried cheese stuffed portobello mushroomâŠ<br/><br/>The mushroom was the bomb! Explosion of cheese and earthy sweet flavours of mushroom and the coating was crispy that it gave a nice crunch!<br/><br/>For me a good burger joint is judged by how well they make their cheeseburger and here its pretty good.. The bun was sweet and chewy and doughy may feel abit junk but it was pleasurable, the patty may not be so fancy but it still delivers.. May not be as artisinal as Patty & Bun or Honest or Street Kitchen but it still pretty good!<br/><br/>Shake Shack for me is pretty good, ÂŁ5 for the single ShackBurger and ÂŁ7.75 for the ShackStack.. It may not boast the highest quality of ingredients but sure it was damn comforting!<br/>

Shake Shack made the headlines in July with its grand opening and supposed competition with Five Guys. Unfortunately it didn't exceed expectations and was a thoroughly average dining experience.<br/><br/>My girlfriend and I both ordered their basic cheeseburger with its standard contents to give it it's best chance at wowing us with the 'Shake Shack Sauce'. It failed, as yummy as the burger was, it didn't reach it's high value price tag in terms of taste. <br/><br/>As Five Guys main competitor, I think I'm firmly on team Five Guys, they provide a huge quantity of fries for a similar price as Shake Shack's small fries option and offer unlimited refills at the same price as Shake Shack's small cups of Coca Cola.<br/><br/>Worth a visit, but with regret I must admit I shan't be running back for seconds. Five Guys on the other hand....

With anticipatory previews being written at length during the run up to the launch of Shake Shack's London venture, I can't say that I wasn't looking forward to it myself. Having sampled it when they opened up in the Middle East, I wasn't big on their burgers, but their fries and concrete shakes were something I had on my radar. I saw the huge queues coming at its launch and decided to skip that ordeal altogether but two weeks from the launch, I decided to give it a go. And none of the reviews I'd seen so far were singing praises. But even then, surprise surprise, the folks of London decided they still needed to queue up for an hour to try the 'great American burger' and at my friend's insistence and against my better judgement, we stood in line while I kept mumbling that it wasn't worth the hype. <br/><br/>Suffice it to say and forgive me for repeating myself but it isn't worth the hype. The burger looks appealing but stops far short of generating any sort of burgasm but does a decent job nevertheless, the fries were a disappointment and the Union Shack concrete was anything but concrete and tasted like any other generic custard. I have to say the Middle East special 'Desert Storm' leaves the 'Union Shack' in a cloud of dust. Shake Shack had better step up their game or else Covent Garden will not be seeing crowds lining up for a bite.

Originating from a mere hot dog cart in Manhattan, New York back in 2004, ShackShake has taken the US by storm and is now slowly trying to take over the world; one city at a time.<br/><br/>How did ShakeShack fare in London?<br/><br/>For ÂŁ5.00 I went for the ShackBurger (basically a cheeseburger), plus crinkle cut fries at ÂŁ2.50 and a caramel frozen custard shake for ÂŁ4.50.<br/><br/>Armed with my Shake and my Shack Burger I was ready for my experimental testing.<br/><br/><br/>Sex Appeal?<br/><br/>The Shack Burger is essentially a cheeseburger and was pretty damn alluring since she was presented to me half naked peeping out of her paper wrap.<br/><br/>Look at her.<br/><br/>Posing like that.<br/><br/>....Skank.<br/><br/>Burger Strength?<br/><br/>The burger was smaller than I had anticipated.<br/><br/>The bun was lightly toasted, a necessity to ensure that it keeps its integrity and helps to avoid disintegrating after the first bite.<br/><br/>The patty was cooked well done unfortunately, and another niggling factor was that the cheese wasn't cooked WITH the beef but was just topped on the burger afterwards; which meant one thing. It wasn't oozing all over my fingers. :(<br/><br/>YEAH-O-METER?<br/><br/>The beef lacked in any true flavour, and was on the side of being alittle too well-done for me.<br/><br/>Personally, I like to have burger juice dripping off my chin (uber sexy), with the right ratio of salad/pickles and sauces giving it that crunch without being too soggy.<br/><br/>I was alittle disappointed that ShakeShack failed to deliver that to me.<br/><br/>However, you could argue that she was a more refined lady of burger I suppose.<br/><br/>Shake Shack - 5.5/10 Yummei's - visually appealing, but unfortunately I wasn't blown away.<br/><br/>For the FULL review with all the awesome photos - VISIT http://yummei.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/shake-shack-vs-five-guys.html
Food Over London
The opening of Shake Shack has been much anticipated with the well traveled amount the twitterati at fever pitch drooling at the prospect of not only their burgers but their infamous shakes and concretes, a dense frozen custard mixed at high speed with fine add ins from St.John's and Paul.a.Young's chocolates. Nearly every one I've met who has been to their NYC branch goes into long lengths describing how good it is. It's no mean feat they've managed to mix great fast food with a classy joint that will no doubt will a destination for many.<br/>Shake Shack have gone to great lengths to source all their ingredients properly, with their beef chosen from the highlands, Aberdeen Angus, bacon from Wiltshire, and their collaboration with the highly regarded St.John's and Paul.a.young is assurance of very high standards. For the me the SmokeShack (ÂŁ6.50) is definitely my burger of choice, fantastic hit of flavours from the cherry peppers and the sauce, encompassed within a soft potato bun<br/>Without doubt the concretes are well worth any length of time queuing. As desserts go I'd have this breakfast! This is more than just a shake and definitely not straw-able. There is never any time to get bored of them due to their 'Custard calender' with a flavour for each month.<br/>Shake Shack will do well as it caters for everyone, even dogs (not joking, they have dog treats on the menu). With a great selections of wines and beers, including Meantime brewing company. It's perfectly situated for the pre/post theatre dinner crowd. Whats more the staff have brought with them that first class american hospitality, hopefully the UK staff will be well versed in this, rather than the miserable spotty teenagers that grunt at you from other popular fast food joints.<br/>It appeals to suits, tourists and burger fanatics alike, no doubt it'll be rammed for now and the distant future.<br/><br/>Read more at: http://www.foodoverlondon.com/2013/07/the-us-burger-invasion-honest.html
