Our team works nearby and we come here all the time because the food is filling, delicious, and great value. Service is low-key but friendly, same goes for the atmosphere - for veggie food in the area, this has been a great find!

It's true, the service in here is barely service at all and the ambience is entirely nondescript. BUT I eat here, or get takeaway, very often because the food's tasty and incredibly cheap. There *are* better Indian restaurants (Rasa in Stoke Newington Church Street, N16), but not at this price - and there are also many worse ones that are more expensive. As long as you don't expect fawning waiters, and you're happy to write down your own order (and possibly take it up to the counter!), you can have a really nice meal here. I recommend the mixed bhajia, masala dosa, paratha, uthappam, chana masala, rajma paneer... I'm working my way through the menu, and the only dishes I haven't enjoyed so far were mogo chips, and chilli paneer. Four of us ate there together last week, and for starters and a large main course, plus chutneys etc, the entire bill was £31.50! BYOB (off license on the nearest corner). If you sit down and don't get served, take some initiative and go to the counter! Front of house is bad but they know what they're doing in the kitchen, and that's why I'll keep going back.

We had a lovely experience at this restaurant.  We were planning on going to Karamel  but they were closed for a private party.  We found this restaurant on the internet and were very pleased.  Both being vegan, we were happy with the selection of food offered,  Our waiter was extremely polite and helpful.  The food was very good and reasonably priced.  Will definitely go back.

The atmosphere is a bit basic, not especially plush, but the focus is on the food here. They give you the menu and you write down what you want yourselves (unconventional but it works to a point) the food is all veggie and all great. Fab value as well. You're not expecting gourmet presentation here, but the tastes are worth the trip.

Wonderful Indian vegetarian Restaurant. The food was very good and the wait time was very less. Everyone is friendly. The prices are very reasonable. Perfect place for anyone who misses veg Indian food. Must try Masala Dosa.

Amazing homemade Gujarati food served for the most reasonable price. A lunch thali for £5! Did not disappoint. No frills but hygienic and tasty food. Love it. Felt like home :)

Love this place. Not that often you can get thoroughly stuffed with really tasty food for next to nothing. You can feed four people for the price of one in most other restaurants. Premises are basic but that's a fair trade off for the price. Will continue to go back here and exhaust the extensive menu. If you want a drink it's BYOB and they charge a small corkage fee. Can't recommend it enough. Very nice staff.

I love it here. The food is sensational. It is great value. The service is friendly. You bring your own booze (corkage is around 40p for a beer or £1 ish for a bottle of wine). Fully vegetarian menu.

One of the most authentic Indian restaurants I've experienced outside of India. They food is simple but delicious and the prices are extraordinarily low. Don't expect a fancy restaurant and decor, it's super simple but that's the real Indian experience and you can tell the food is made with love. If you want amazing food and like very good value and don't mind a simple looking restaurant, you can't beat it.

I've been a regular here for several years and always appreciate the home cooked style delicious veg curries and lively atmosphere. It's one of the most enjoyable places to come with friends and bring a bottle too. I am always surprised when the bill comes, I am completely stuffed, and it is never more than £10 a head!

The staff were very helpful, telling me everything on the menu that was vegan friendly. Also the food is amazing every time, service is quick and friendly, price is FANTASTIC. BYOB is also useful as drinks are usually so expensive at restaurants. Generally lovely place to go. Thanks for your vegan options!!

My manager informed me about this place as he was a vegetarian, too. I used to have takeout for my lunch break. The food quality is very nice, not long queue. Later they used to deliver the food once I go and place the order for lunch. Very helpful staff and good price. We all liked the food from their restaurant.

I eat here all the time, the food is glorious! The service is very relaxed but once you get used to it this place is a dream come true. Order from the menu, take your order to the desk (they will come over eventually but this speeds up the process). Every mouth full is delicious but the best part is the bill, never spent more than a tenner and its BYOB. Might go again tonight now I've thought about it :)

Food delicious and authentic. A good varied menu. Very good value for money. Service very gentle and friendly. Surroundings are basic and shabby around edges but everything else makes up for it. Also as they don't serve alcohol you can bring your own. Definitely recommend.

I've been a regular here for several years and love the food. The service is pretty terrible (there's one younger waiter who's much better but he's not always there) but the delicious food and very low prices make it worth overlooking that - I just choose to be amused by it rather than annoyed. Other reviewers are also not being unfair when they say the place is shabby and occasionally sticky in places... But again, all worth putting up with for the great food and amazing value for money. If it really bothers you there's always the take-away option (no delivery). Some of my favourite dishes: kachori (my sister loves the kachori chaat), patra, mixed veg bhajia, masala dosa, uthappam, chana masala, rajma paneer, green beans curry...

The food here is excellent and I've returned many times. There's an interesting way of ordering where you're given a pen and paper with the menu. You write down what you want and bring it to the counter. I recommend getting the Mango Lassi or Pistachio Lassi to drink. The special for 2 is also great for 3 people or 2 if you've skipped a meal! Great value for money.

Great, family owned, unpretentious, authentic and delicious vegetarian food. We are a family of vegans and they were more than happy to veganize all the meals, including breads and rice. We love this place.

Lunch today with my Rajasthani meditator friend who guided our choices: we focused on the south Indian offerings and had delicious, authentic food. I had Patra for the first time, fried here rather than steamed, and LOVED it. Also Dokra and Idly Sambar. We also had the Benghan Bhartha from the more north Indian part of the menu .... sooooooo good. The coriander based sauce served with a few of the dishes was also to die for. Atmosphere is basic and the price is right (£25 for all that). Be careful of lunch hours ... kitchen closes at 2 pm so get here early!

Food is great.. Good people! The whole environment is too positive! I've decided I'll be coming here very often.. It's not at all close to my house but it's worth coming to a restaurant where I feel good!
