It's a good spoons, overall with a younger crowd likely from Queen Mary university. Service here is very quick despite it being really busy on the weekends. Food is nothing to right home to but perfect to snack on with a couple drinks. The overall atmosphere is busy and chaotic but it is partly because I went on a Friday evening. I would definitely recommend if you want to just hang out after work .

Considering it's a spoons I'm actually impressed with the quality of some food served here Wednesday to Sunday. Kudos to the chef on those days. I'm a fan of the All day brunch and Curry Thursdays. Service can be slow at times. But ok overall. Atmosphere is questionable at times. Last time I visited I got assaulted by one of the drunk female customers...

I walked into this wetherspoon craving some beautiful and tasty curry chips. Little did I know that I would walk out with the best meal I'll ever have in my life. The sauce was creamy and smooth, the chips and it's explosive flavour melted in my mouth. The Half Moon Wetherspoons curry chips will be my last meal before I go to eternal sleep on my death bed. Those curry chips saved my life. I'm walking out this place as a changed man. A man with a broader palette and higher standards. I love your curry chips. From now on, the curry chips are the only thing I'm ordering from this establishment. Thank you The Half Moon Wetherspoon for this eye-opening experience.

Had a terrible experience here today. I've never had any problems with staff and have been nothing but friendly to them when ordering food, yet I felt humiliated as a customer. I felt like the victim of a distasteful joke. I'm even inclined to call this place racist/islamophobic. Please read on.<br/><br/>I went here for an evening of food with my friends. I'm Muslim so I don't drink alcohol or eat the meat/chicken here. Therefore, I ordered a soft drink and a vegetarian burger meal. Whilst ordering, the barmaid was quite cold, however I shrugged this off and smiled as I'm sure she's had a long day. After ordering, I forgot to take my drink, which she later brought to me with a comment along the lines of "you should pay attention and take your drink next time". Fair enough, I smiled it off and said thank you.<br/><br/>What happened next is what really bothered me. My plate of burger and chips came with a piece of bacon on the side. I look Muslim from my beard and brown complexion, and Muslims are known to not eat pork. I also ordered a vegetarian meal. So why on Earth was I served bacon? I took my plate back to the counter, and was offered a replacement. I was not given a formal apology from the manager, and my experience was treated as if it was another everyday occurrence for them.<br/><br/>I am a student at Queen Mary University and I'm extremely appalled that something like this can go on at a local establishment and in such a multicultural area. I know the faces of the barmen who took my plate back, and several of my friends were witnesses to my experience. I also know the name of the barmaid, but I will not share that here as I don't have proof she had any part to play in this. I will, however, be letting others know of my experience and of the fact that The Half Moon did nothing about it. It's 2019, businesses cannot be getting away with such ridiculous behaviour.

This pub is normally full of students from Queen Mary and some older people who live in the area. I used to go there all the time back when I was doing my masters and have some late drinks before going home or a full English after a big night out.<br/><br/>Being in Victoria Park for fireworks night I thought I'd come back to this pub because I haven't been in the past two years and I was happy to see that it hasn't changed. Despite being a wetherspoons I've always liked the food there, the Tennessee burger was one of my favourites and there are a lot of cheap drinks deals to cater for the student crowd.<br/><br/>In general I was happy I was back there and I still think it is a nice pub but the crowd does not match my current life stage (a bit over cheap shots and getting IDed). Also I would not travel an hour across London to get there on a regular basis. <br/><br/>However if you are a student and live in the area you should definitely make this your local.

The Half Moon aka Wetherspoon has such a great amount of space. I like the fact that there's an older feeling area as well as a more modern area. There's also an outdoor seating area which is excellent in the summer months!<br/><br/>My friend wanted to go there as she hasn't been in a while. We found a cosy table in a corner and then went to the bar to order. My friend ordered the lasagne which came with a side salad and dressing and a drink she also got a Baileys. Whilst I ordered the salmon fillet which came with hollandaise sauce, jacket potato, butter and steamed vegetables instead of the side salad and dressing as I just realised it should have come with. <br/><br/>Food came in good timing.<br/><br/>My friend enjoyed her lasagne, even though she reckons the portion has shrunk in size. Her Baileys however had bits in it, I took it back to the bar to let them know and one of the ladies sorted it out straight away with jokes about the one who made the mistake.. Aha ha. <br/><br/>I did not enjoy my food so much, the salmon was dry, the jacket potato was fine and the vegetables were nicely steamed. My first time having food there and I think I'll avoid it unless I happened to order the wrong dish (it was curry day as well).

I first knew this pub for its always busy summer garden. The price of the drinks here is quite inexpensive, taking in mind that this is London of course! You can have a massive selection of beers and wines at good prices.<br/><br/>Food prices are in line with those of the drinks, they also have deals that include burger and a pint for around £7, what a bargain!! I had nachos to share and chicken breast burger (for a change). The portion of nachos was quite big, a bit too spicy for some of my friends. The burger was juicy and came with a good amount of chips on the side.<br/><br/>Half moon is good for cheap drinks and good value for money food.
