This is a brilliant pub / restaurant. The food is extremely high quality and incredibly reasonably priced. It's got a lovely atmosphere. The staff are all lovely and friendly and helpful - we had exceptionally good service from Clement tonight and could not believe it when we found out that it was his first shift. He did a fabulous job and has left an incredibly positive impression, but the whole team is great. We are very lucky to have this as our local pub and will be back again and again. Very highly recommended.
I had an amazing time at the Starting Gate pub! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the exceptional chef. The dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The attention to detail and the quality of ingredients truly shone through. I can't wait to return and savor more of the culinary delights prepared by their talented chef. Highly recommended!

I went to check out the place the week before, then i decided to go this wednesday, finishing work early made it possible to treat myself to a lovely burger with free glass of red Chiraz wine, I also ordered the apple & gooseberry crumble with vanilla icecream, a beauty. Beautiful pub. I emailed the photos to my family in France too .
Great food and kind staff. Sunday roast was amazing. Service a bit slow despite it not being super busy at the time, but overall staff were very helpful and the atmosphere at lunchtime was great.
What a gorgeous pub! Lovely staff, we had Sybil, who made us feel very welcome and catered to. Great place for a meal as the food is delicious! And great atmosphere also for a good night out in one of the liveliest parts of north London.
I was starving and thought let me go in. Lovely n clean. Staff friendly. My steak was just delicious. Chips were nice. Lovely glass of wine. I wanted to sit for ages an relax. It was peaceful. Had to go as my phone was charging. But would definitely return
Very well lit pub with a nice vibe and good comfort food. Our server Aggie was very attentive during our visit. She made sure we always had drinks and was hospitable and friendly. Would recommend

I had a wonderful dish of beer battered fish which I enjoyed very much. Great batter and very fresh fish and the Ales were great too.

I visited with a friend and had a long leisurely lunch with drinks. The food was great, as was the wine. It’s a very attractive pub so was perfect for a relaxed catch up.
We like the pub. There’s a good selection of beers and food on the menu. Last night was disappointing however because we showed up intending to take advantage of the free beer with a burger Wednesday offer. After our bill came, the server had charged us for all beers and the manager wasn’t initially willing to honor the Wednesday offer.
