Hoang Lan

Hoang Lan is a lovely family restaurant which I love to go to with my children. Delicious fresh food cooked really well, and fresh green coconut chopped for you on demand. I recommend the Beef in black bean sauce, but my wife would recommend the Sea Bass, but my son would recommend the gluten free noodles with prawn and squid! We always get too too much so that we can have a takeout of the next day.

Amazing food and amazing pho (noodles with soup and beef brisket or prawns)! Hot and tasty, just what you need on a cold day. It's low calories and healthy too, so highly recommended! Worth noting with COVID they are open for takeaway and the soup is perfectly served in takeaway. It's served in separate containers as well to make a big portion (which is amazing), broth on one big bowl and the garnish, meat and noodles on another container and so you can prepare it nicely at home or whenever. Food is served in plastic bowls with plastic cutlery (and wooden chopsticks). The food was really worth it though at an amazing value, so I will definitely return!

Probably the best pho in the UK. The clear broth was sweet and appetising while the fried rice has a very Chinese take to it. The curry we had was really good as well although I'd hope for it to be a little more spicy (because I'm an Asian) though it's still really fragrant nonetheless. Bottom line is, it's a place that I would return with more friends.

Had the most delicious meal here. The papaya salad was exquisite and so was my tofu pho. My partner wasn't feeling well as so the delightful and friendly person who served us got an off menu tofu soup made for her. She said it was delicious and made her feel so much better. It was a quite night at the restaurant, but the hospitality and atmosphere was amazing - and the food even better. Will definitely be coming back!

Hoang Lan is a local gem! The food is consistently fresh and delicious, plus they have some really interesting dishes on the menu. The staff are very friendly as well and the service is good. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from on Askew road, and this is up there with the best in my opinion. I don't understand why the Thai next door is often busier, as the food there is very average. Please support this local restaurant!
