Mariage Frères in Covent Garden is a unique tea house with a non-traditional, Asian-inspired menu. The iced teas are particularly refreshing and flavorful, with the Havana and Tokyo Mojito being my favourites. The Flower Summer tea is also delicious, I recommend adding a bit of liquid sugar to it.
The scones are also delicious, but they are very different from traditional British scones. The Matcha scones have big chunks of ginger in them, which gives them a unique flavour and texture. The Cinnamon scones are also very good, and the Vanilla Raisin scones are perfect for those who like a sweeter scone.
Overall, Mariage Frères is a great place to go for a unique tea experience. The cool view overlooking Covent Garden is also a nice bonus.
I had brunch with marco polo tea and everything tasted absolutely amazing. Best meal I've had in London. I was quite full and took the dessert to go, which was also amazing. I'm very glad I came here for tea brunch and I would 100% recommend, especially if you prefer savoury food more than sweets!
A wonderful French treasure house in a Georgian townhouse in Covent Garden housing the world’s most exclusive of luxury teas, Mariage Frères, bringing the tea savoir-faire to the capital as well as instagram influencers and walking-in tourists for an exclusive ambience of tea decor, aroma and a taste of their extraordinary collection. We enjoyed the immersive afternoon tea experience along with the artistic patisserie served with utmost elegance. The pricing did meet our expectations. We enjoyed walking around the retail space at as well as Mariage Frères in London as well as the tea museum. This place also has private event spaces.
Thank you @mariagefreresofficial for this out if the world afternoon tea experience ☕️
Huge selection of teas. We had one high tea between two plus and additional pot of tea. The staff were helpful in describing the varieties.
Tea was excellent and food was ok - sandwiches tasty, scones good sweets very sweet.
A good experience.
Great place for tea and cakes. They have good desserts and a huge selection of teas.
An excellent tea house cafe. Seating outside near Covent Garden. Very extensive selection of teas. We didn't realise that there was a whole shop inside - lots of choice.
Had the afternoon tea set on Saturday and everything is tea infused, which is very interesting. Food is good, the dinning area is spacious and staff is friendly. Price wise is slightly expensive as the portion is a bit small. Worth to try if you are looking for a nice place for a girls day out.
Lovely food and experience for afternoon tea. The service was very attentive and the menus were quite exhaustive, with very prompt service. The interiors are stunning and the shop floors are gorgeous; the summer tea we were served was extremely good. The only improvement we could think of would be slightly more selections available in the afternoon tea offerings, particularly with the tea-infused desserts (most of which were amazing, but one was quite heavy on mint).
Salon de tea. Unbelievable selection of tea served in the most exquisite way. Scones on top of it and a charming restaurant garden in Covent Garden. Beautiful experience if you enjoy tea.

The first minute you walk inside you’ll notice the sheer opulence as the tea room is adorned with hundreds and thousands range of teas around the world. They mostly range from the Far East, India to Africa and South America. Downstairs is the tea boutique where you can buy loose tea bags from anywhere you’d like, even the tea pot comes in all shapes and sizes. It can be really pricey if you want to host a posh tea party of your own.
Moving on upstairs is the tea room where you can sit down and relax while you get a separate menu just for teas. Just to let you know it took me almost 10-15 mins to decide which tea I’d want because you’ll run out options. I think they’re over 200-1000 types of teas in the menu. I’ve never seen anything like this before. But of course they all come with a price, tea ranges from £8-18 and they will serve up-to 4 cups so it’s perfect for two people which I did as I took my best friend luckily. For the light nibbles to have with the tea can be expensive as it’s £9 for an eclair! But it’s totally worth it.
Would recommend to visit this gorgeous tea house for ardent tea lovers like myself. Please do check it out!
Stunning selection of teas! Very beautiful environment with lots of light! The Parisian Afternoon Tea was smoothly balanced and the selection of cakes exquisite 👌
Also a perfect source for high quality tea-related gifts (teas, pots, cups etc).
Finally, the staff was genuinely polite and helpful 😊
Amazing tea selection! Lovely service, would be nice if they had more options for takeaway though
Delightful Afternoon Tea, and love how creative they are with incorporating teas into all the savoury and sweet items. I particularly appreciated that the desserts were not cloyingly sweet, and had bright zesty elements to make for a pleasing finish. The jams that accompanied the scones were light and flavourful as well.
The Dreaming Sheep tea (melon, jasmine) had a beautiful floral taste.
Price at par with most other high tea spots in the area (£50 + taxes in March 2023).
Teas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great selection of teas! It’s a bit overwhelming, but the service is great and they’ll help you with your choice.
Desserts are very good as well. And they seem to have very interesting things for lunch, with tea-infused flavors. We need to go back for lunch some time!
Amazing tea INFUSED desserts. Frankly the best creme brulee I've ever had, really a tease on the taste buds. The dark chocolate mousse with Black Tea magic encased with 24k gold is such a decadent treat as well.
However, teas were a bit of a disappointment. Although the menu is extensive, the tea was okay. Not bad not good. The jasmine tea I ordered tasted just like water, it was pretty weird.
I have lived in London my entire life and visit the city centre every weekend and this has to be the best place to visit in the whole city! Absolutely beautiful decor, food, staff and tea selection. Paradise in a tea pot! Staff are connoisseurs and are happy to talk about tea. Feels like a celebrity 5 star experience every time I visit. Thank you for your excellent customer service..
