My go to place to get my coffee beans. Have been going for a few years now and the quality never disappoints. I agree with one of the other contributors that its hit and miss to get there when George is open. But he is a Camden gem, so cut him a bit of slack for his age. Its like a museum for coffee roasting.

Good quality Freshly roasted coffee beans for a very reasonable price for London. I've now been here twice, about 5 years between each visit. After 5 years (thereabouts) I can't believe George is still there, he's still roasting the cheapest coffee in London. Choice isn't what it was, but kudos to him for keeping going when others would have retired.

This place is a hidden gem! I’ve been walking passed it for months now on the way to ballet and I decided to stop by today. Continental blend is £9 for 500g! Mountain Blend is £13.50 for 500g. I just made a cuppa with my moka and it’s amazing! I can’t drink any other grocer/ Amazon bought ground coffee anymore. I’ll be back to try the rest of the blends. Looking forward to trying santos dark. And to the people complaining about the 70 year old man, he’s just doing his best. We all are. It’s cash only btw! George is getting a card reader sorted but please give him time x

George is such a lovely gentleman, he knows coffee inside and out, ans roast package all by himself. The shop is like a museum, definately worth a visit even you are not a coffee person. If you love coffee, then more reason to come and buy some freshly roasted beans from him.

A no-nonsense kiosk-sized very 'old school' bean shop with an irresistible aroma wafting down the road. A Camden landmark; same bloke, same stock, same quality, same good price. Dependably the same.

Excellent old style coffee roasters. Very traditional and good for tourists and locals alike. They don't serve prepared coffee if that's you're after. It's a roaster that sells whole and ground coffee beans. Roasting is done manually using traditional kits. There's a limited choice of coffee beans but that's more than enough for coffee connoisseurs.

Whoops! Accidentally "liked" Javad's comments. Of course he's completely wrong - Camden Coffee Shop is a gem, and in Japan or China George would be a "living national treasure"! His Santos Dark and his Mocha blend are both delicious. The aroma that fills the street when he's roasting, on his machines which are genuinely 100 years old, is fabulous! It's a tragedy that George hasn't trained up an apprentice... Luckily he's still a young man (in his mid-70s, I think). Long may he continue! PS: That framed photo of him looking like Boris Karloff, which hangs behind the counter, is by me.

Everything about this small coffee shop is simply wow and magical. I remember my first experience 6 years ago was mesmerising. The best freshly roasted coffee beans in London. And George, the owner, is just amazing, he’s had this store for over 40 years. The roasting of coffee beans goes in small batches and than you can grind it to your liking. I would recommend Kenyan or Ethiopean beans. For true coffee lovers this place is Mecca, the coffee is superb. And that coffee smell.. ufff.

My daughter asked me to take her to Camden Market and I thought, I haven't been to the Camden Coffee Shop for over 6 years so I'd go there and see if Mr George was still roasting coffe. Surprise surprise! Not only was the Shop still open but Mr George was there in good health and roasting away. I asked for coffee beans with the highest caffeine content and lo and behold I walked away a happy man. Mr George is a legend.
