Winmills is well located and on the side of the commons, ideal for large gatherings, indoors and outdoors. We tried the steak and roast chicken, everything was brilliant

Cute little pub off of the common. Great in the summer months and their garden is always packed! Nice selection of drinks and a good location. Would recommend!

Definitely worth a visit!. Fantastic old hotel that has been mostly kept in original condition on the inside. Lots of different rooms and areas to explore, and they decor is nothing less than quirky and original! Very cosy and homely feel, but still buzzing and exciting!

This is a popular spot in summer for drinking outside on the fringe of the common. Slightly pricey for drinks, but food averagely priced with the benefit of outdoor seating, albeit facing the road rather than the common. Plenty of space inside too, with tasteful interior decoration, notably the lighting in the main room. A TV room offers sport viewing too, so all bases are covered.

I had a lamb roast which was pretty good - good portion of lamb done well. Not the best roast, but did the job and at a fairly standard price of about £14. We had 20% off with a mates Soho gym membership though, which made it even more palatable. However, my friend says the Abbeville is the best roast in the area and the Rookery over the road is perhaps a nicer spot for indoor drinks.

We had a big table allocated for our family in the bright airy restaurant , which consisted of a high chair and pram space, which was lovely. The menu gave a good variation and the children's Sunday roast was great for my grandson. The food had big portions and was very nice. Everyone enjoyed it. The location is great with parking outside and the staff friendly and helpful. Lovely place to eat with the family, including the family dog.

Absolutely amazing hotel, café & restaurant! Super dog friendly and made myself, my partner and my dog feel incredibly welcome and the room was impeccable. Couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed and the whole place is absolutely stunning. Special thank you to Lola who went above and beyond making sure we were all comfortable and having the best experience possible. The food is on a whole other level, by far the best roast I have ever had!! Highly recommend to anyone, dog owner or not, a truly incredible place and we will certainly be back😊🐾

I’m visiting London from Australia and have thoroughly enjoyed two lunches at The Windmill on Clapham Common. The venue is very well served by public transport and it took less than 20 minutes to get there from my hotel in Battersea. On both occasions we dined in the lovely beer garden to take advantage of the balmy summer weather. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast which was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection! On the second occasion I ordered the fish pie. This was fantastic too, tasty and very generous! We received excellent customer service from the bar/restaurant staff who were all friendly and very obliging. I highly recommend The Windmill and would definitely dine there again!

I came here for a birthday dinner and I have to say I've never come to the Windmill for food before, but I have stayed here and the food was really good. Both my mum and I had half roast chicken and they were really nice and also the portion sizing is really well done, it seems as though you get a lot of value for money. I would definitely come back again.

I came in after work today with a special friend, and my gosh what an excellent time we had. It has really set a positive tone for the rest of the weekend! At first I was a little nervous, as I was trying to impress said 'special friend' for our first date. The bartender Joe was extremely charming, charismatic and helpful in suggesting cocktails and food. His Australian accent also made me and my date a little excited... All in all had a wonderful experience, great pub! Will be recommending highly to my friends.

We loved our stay here. The rooms are lovely albeit having signs of wear and tear such as painting coming off the walls. The breakfast and the pub was a delight with excellent food. Will definitely recommend

Went for dinner. Came without reservation and easily found a cosy spot for two. Ordered 2 starters (beautiful presentation and super tasty!) as well as 2 mains which were very delicious 👍🏼 👍🏼 Staff is attentive and quick service, so definitely will come back and recommend to others 🌟

Really lovely interior, roasts were huge and well cooked , seasoned well, service was friendly and quick and attentive, had to ask for condiments so would be nice to have them on the table , pork was inconsistent ,one plate had the stuffing the other didn’t , saying that it was still delicious. £25 bit spenny but seems to be the going price for the area , so a rare treat unfortunately. The interior did make it feel special , especially for an occasion . Will be back for sure absolutely love this pub .

Our family including a 2 year old went for Sunday Lunch. We all had very satisfying roasts including beef, chicken, pork and vegetarian. The service was very good and we were well looked after by Bronte.
