The Eltham GPO (General Post Office as that is what it used to be) has been recently renovated and they have done a good job too. There is plenty of space inside, as well as outside, but it's advisable to book as many tables were reserved when I visited. Only three stars for service as the gentleman that served me wasn't very jolly, didn't smile and made me feel that I was inconveniencing him by asking for a drink. Maybe he was just having a bad day. They have a good range of beers and wines and it is well located in the centre of Eltham. Well worth a visit.

Had the most incredible roast yesterday, was great value and really tasty. Lots of really nicely cooked veg and the pork was delicious - not one complaint from our table. There was a DIY Bloody Mary station which was ideal when feeling a bit ropey on a Sunday! Staff were all super friendly and generally a nice atmosphere in there with a great selection of beer too. Highly recommend.

The food was very nice. I believe it's only been reopened for a couple of weeks, so a few teething problems. Food did take rather a long time to come out , a bit loud, but that's not the restaurant/ pubs fault . My capachino was cold but they changed it no problem and even put a small chocolate brownie on the side 😊 . I think they need time to settle in and would definitely give it another go .

Had a lovely Sunday roast today with my family. The new refurbishment looks amazing, kept the old style that we loved, kept the lovely fireplace but added much needed space. Good vegan options and gluten free on request. The servers were lovely and chatty.

The pub looks so beautiful after its refurbishment, it's a fantastic place to meet with friends and the pub quiz is great! Fantastic selection of drinks including a wide selection of non-alcoholic beers, which is always a bonus. The food is fantastic and the staff are all super friendly. Looking forward to trying the Sunday roast!
Also it allows dogs and has a selection of treats available!

Brilliant little pub, cozy, clean and friendly staff - worth a visit. 2 pints of wiesbeer £10.80. Various options from London breweries too. Food was good for nibbles. Nice decor all around except the men's toilets was a bit strange, it looks like the walls are all wet with condensation so enhances the "toilet vibe", not entirely sure it's a great thing haha. Otherwise nice pub worth stopping in!

Very recently refurbished, the GPO looks as good as it ever has. We visited on a Monday evening when it was reasonably quiet, but there was still a good atmosphere. They have an excellent choice of drinks, all served by friendly staff.

5/5 on everything. Why?
If you knew this place before, you are aware the food is above averagely priced. But the thing is… it’s worth it. It’s way above average food. Delicious.
Then there’s drink selection, which is clearly tried and tested. Awesome.
Loved it before the refurb. Still love it now.

Thank you

Came here with my wife for a Sunday roast. The pub was very nice, the staff was very courteous, the food was really nice and a pint of lager was under £6. Facilities were well attended too and overall experience was 5*

Preslie did a fantastic job organising my engagement do! I wanted something low key but also make a night of it and Eltham GPO totally delivered! Food was fab, we got the meat platter, veg platter and sausage roll platter (not your standard sausage rolls either!). We also got the tab deal which made our night even more special for ourselves and our guests. No charge for booking tables, so don't sleep on booking the GPO for your next event, big or small! (Also they allow doggies so that is always a plus!)

Pub in old post office with its unique atmosphere. Have various drinks and very good food, especially on weekends when you can come with family and enjoy your time. The issue is only when they are overloaded you have to wait your turn.

An old post office turned into a lovely pub.The brick external is really beautiful.Quite spacious inside & has a lovely outside seating area.Very busy, lots of chatter which can get a bit loud but not rowdy. I was here for a work colleague's leaving do.We ordered drinks, skinny plain fries & skin cheesy fries. The fries were absolutely delicious.😃👍

Love this pub. By far the best in the Bexley-end of Greenwich and in Bexley, and one of the best in the south east. Nice selection of beer, great size and atmosphere, lovely shabby-chic-industrial look, both child- and dog-friendly, and the current bartending staff are just great - really lovely and friendly. We come here often and it’ll always be one of our staple pubs :)

Eltham GPO is such a fantastic place for a casual lunch/dinner or a gathering. The food is incredibly delicious and I would wholeheartedly recommend their fish and chips, fried chicken burger, steak to anyone! Staff are so friendly and make customers feel very welcomed. 5 stars!!

Normally we love going to GPO for great service and good food and dog friendly. Yesterdays service was extremely slow. Sometimes they offer table service, sometimes you have to beg for it as was yesterday for Sunday roast. 1:30 booking with no hot chocolate, coffee machine broke according to staff and limited choice of gin. Asked for extra gravy and got none and very limited on plate, normally gen portions, barely got a skinny leg quarter for chicken and duck roasts, limited veg we asked for rarer roast beef, it was very thin, well done and dry. had to chase down staff, no one checked on table unless WE asked staff and when we finally got to pudding, all that was left was ice cream or sherbert and that was with a 1:30 booking. Will have to start looking for a new Sunday lunch spot.... :(

We and our Abba, the dog have been supporting you from the start when there was hardly anyone in your pub but tonight when we walked in we were asked to leave because apparently“our dog is too big”. Are you dog friendly as advertised and do you care about your regular clients?

Great room hire. Helpful staff and good priced food

Waiting for our Sunday lunch took ages ie over an hour. And arrived for different people at different times. When we told the waitress at the end of the meal how was lunch, we said the food had been slow, she rudely replied I got that vibe off this table, despite doing nothing about it during our 3 hour stay there...

Great service great food wonderful atmosphere. Covered a group of 21 dinners with ease. Would highly recommend.

Stopped in for a relaxing midweek dinner. It was quiz night!
Food was good, staff very pleasant, atmosphere was really very pleasant, a good crowd.
The quiz was great fun - I would recommend it.

Some mains came out before our starters. Then the rest of the mains came out when half had finished there mains so we didn't actually get to eat together. They seem to under some sort of gravy rations as they put none in the roasts and then they give you a thimble full when you ask for more. I asked for my burger without mushrooms and it still came with mushrooms leaving the burger smelling like feet.
Nice pub, live music, food is a let down.
