Great Place with lovely decor and nice to know theirs a halal Vietnamese place in the area. good food too. seems like a nice quiet place just off brick lane and they're not like the other local restaurants who beg for custom. keep it up HOI!!

It's hard to believe that it's been over two years since I visited Vietnam, but on of the things that I do remember is how easy we had it, food wise. I'm not that much of a fussy eater but with that ingrained preconception of far east food those of us who are Muslim or Pakistani (or both) have, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the cuisine we came across during our tour.

Which makes me wonder why it's taken so long to find Hoi An, a halal Vietnamese joint right here on my front step. Now if I'm totally honest I can't really make any claims to the authenticity of the place - I'm far from discerning enough to specify that - but the food tonight was just as good and enjoyable as I remember it being. I stuck to the relatively simple prawn pancake and chicken curry dishes, and they were both sublime in their simplicity.

If there was one complaint it was that of the price: £20 quid a head put today's food miles away from what we had in Vietnam as part of the fun of eating there was the embarrassingly low cost to eat. I guess it was cheaper than a plane ticket, but I can't help but feel it could have been more appropriately priced given the experience. Still, I would go back and I suppose in that sense Hoi An is recommended.

Went here on a Saturday with 3 people, atmosphere was nice and calm, and service was polite and speedy. I ordered the shaking beef on salad, with a side of noodles and stir fried bean sprouts. The food was all well-cooked and tasty, and didn't feel too light or too heavy - it filled me for the rest of the day, but didn't leave me feeling stuffed at all. It was reasonably priced, something like £8 for the shaking beef and £4.50 for the noodles. A pot of several cups of decent jasmine tea, enough for everyone, was only £2. I can't comment on how authentic it was since I've never had other Vietnamese food, but it was certainly good food and good service for a reasonable price - and halal too, which is rare among decent East Asian food places.

This place has quickly become my favourite place to eat in in London. It's not fancy and it's not trying to be either. It's just authentically Vietnamese. Every time I go I always get the same thing, the rare beef pho and the prawn pancake. Both items are so delicious I find myself dreaming about them!

Visited the Hoi An on Saturday with a few friends as it's the only halal Vietnamese food in the area. Food was lovely and definitely worth a visit. Also had a lovely baby turtle in the fish tank. My personal favourite was the hofun and the chicken corn soup!! Highly recommended!!!

A great halal Vietnamese restaurant. The pho, Vietnamese noodle soup, is delicious and the broth is tasty. The location is a walking distance from overground and tube stations.

The waiting time to have our starters was quite long (about 35 minutes) as it seems the take away orders were prioritised at that time, but the food and waitress were very good!
