A typical bar with their beers on tap. I think to really add value to these reviews, I need to start keep track of the names of the beers and try 3-4 different ones.
In any case, busy place with not too much sitting space. Found ourselves here 'cos Dishoom had a long queue outside.

Yum. Popped in for dinner last night and loved it. Upstairs had a fantastic menu and thee downstairs pub had a really buzzy vibe. Would go back again!

Another friend chose the chicken roast and couldn’t be disappointed – it was so big! It was like half a chicken served with carrots and duck fat roast potatoes. The perfect meal for someone very hungry. She actually couldn’t finish it… but did enjoy it. The only little disappointment being she thought she would get a Yorkshire pudding too. But generous friends like us obviously shared those huge Yorkshire puddings served with lamb roast.

Really lovely atmosphere, exceptionally friendly, accommodating staff. Starters are gigantic and tasty, and although the main course involved a slight wait, it was absolutely delicious. Well worth many more visits.

Who knew such a lovely little proper pub existed so close to Shoreditch? Well, quite a few people, evidently, as it was pretty busy in The Owl and the Pussycat and it was only a Wednesday. I heard about this place through Secret London and popped it on the List. I was going to Deviation at Concrete which is just around the corner so thought this would be an ideal place for a couple of drinks first.

This place goes in for big communal tables that you have to try to nab a place at, ending up potentially sharing with another group or two. The pub itself is quite small but it has a sizeable (heated) courtyard at the back to squeeze some more people in, and it has a separate restaurant upstairs for people who just want to eat. Prices were quite reasonable. A normal-sized (ie not the 250ml bucket) of wine was under £4.00 – which is becoming increasingly rare these days.

The crowd was pretty typical hipster – I don’t think there was a single girl in there without a flat fringe- and it was mostly groups of people. But the pub’s low lighting and woody décor also made it quite a romantic pub (I think the poetic name helps) and I can imagine going with my boyfriend for a few drinks together and some tasty sounding bar snacks – duck’s egg, chorizo and garlic frites, mmmm!

Decided to call here for Sunday lunch as it was just around the corner from where we were staying. We were greeted by a lovely young lady in the restaurant upstairs and she seated us by the window which was nice. I ordered a Bloody Mary which she made just to my liking that I had another. The pea and broad bean scotch egg for starter was beautiful and the Sunday Roast was hmm hmm. There were 4 of us in total each having 2 courses. Drinks wise we had 2 bloody Mary’s, a lime and soda, 2 lager shandy’s, 2 coca cola’s and 2 large wines. The bill came to a total of £195 inc service charge which I think is pretty good in the City.

Great place for a Saturday afternoon booze - also dog friendly! Frozen margs were delish and the food was top notch. We'd already scranned half of it when I took the pic, Cliff waiting patiently for a nibble. The croquettes and the chicken tenders really were boss.

My husband and I went there for dinner. It was kind of slow, for not being a busy night. However, the food was very tasty and delicious. We had gammon steak, meatloaf and fish and chips.

Wow, what a roast! 10 of us went for a roast and a catch up yesterday here and had a great afternoon. The roasts were superb (from the first mouthful...I had the nut roast), the staff were really friendly and helpful and the communication when I was booking for a big group was spot on. Would recommend to anyone 🤩

Cute place. Easy to find seating. Back patio was great and they had a net sitting over it to keep birds out which was nice. The drink of choice their seemed to be aperol spritz lol but they definitely had other stuff.

🚇 Shoreditch High Street 🍺 £6.35 Estrella ❤️ An attractive Shoreditch watering hole. . This pub is located in a quiet side street in the heart of Shoreditch and is just a few minutes walk away from Shoreditch High Street station. . Original name The Crown, this is a Grade II listed boozer and its a bit of a stunner. . Inside, the ground floor has a rustic old-world feel to it. Upstairs there is a dining room for those who fancy donning the nose bag. At the rear of the pub is a compact beer garden for the warmer months or if you fancy a snout. The stand out feature is the mahogany back bar which dates back to Victorian times. . The beer choice was straightforward and price point was to be expected, my Estrella was nice enough, my son was on Camden Hells which he said was also good. The food menu was full of classic pub fayre, fish and chips costs £17. . I visited with my Son & Daughter on a hot Saturday in August and the pub was busy in the back garden and around the front. There was a nice atmosphere with a younger crowd in attendance. This place can get very busy after work and late on at the weekend. . The @theowlpubshoreditch is without doubt a beautiful looking pub and is very popular with a younger crowd. If you don’t fancy the hustle and bustle then I would recommend a visit during the day. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 20/08/22

Booked a large table in the upstairs area for drinks. The upstairs was fairly quiet with just a couple of chairs and tables pushed to the side for standing, so we ended up just moving down into the beer garden where it was much more lively :) Us moving was just personal preference however, and staff provided great service and food was very good. Would definitely go back again!
