Exactly what you want from a local Indian restaurant. Friendly staff who remember their regulars, a good variety of freshly-cooked curries, and big portions at very affordable prices (impossible to spend more than £15 without bursting). It's not a fancy place, but we love it for what it is. (EDIT: since this review, it has been completely transformed into a much more modern and less traditional place, a bit more pricy but still excellent)

This is one of our favourite and relatively unknown local gems which has continued to go from strength to strength since the current owners took over several years ago. Last night was one of the best meals ever. Highly recommend king prawn curry and lamb rogan - lovely fresh ingredients not too hot and delicious flavoursome thick sauce. Lovely vegetables too - cauliflower and okra last night but aubergine is also a favourite of ours Always greeted with a warm welcome if we chose to dine in - clean and freshly decorated premises. The owner is also head chef and loves to try out new recipes but right now this is at its best. Well done Chef!

Sunday 29/12/19. We thought that we would give it another try, now that it's been refurbished. Haven't been here for many years. The food is ok and arrived quite quickly unlike other reviews have state. And like other reviews state, there is nothing to tell you that they are going to change you 85p for each of the chutneys that they bring to the table without being asked. This just seems quite mean, and creates bad will with customers. Just include them for free as a good gesture like every other Indian restaurant does. Such a small thing makes a big difference. When we mentioned it when we got the bill, we were told that Indian restaurants in central London do the same thing. I've eaten at a fair few Indian restaurants in town (and around the world), and never seen this before. Besides, this is not central London. On an aesthetic note, I think that the restaurant would benefit from a more modern approach to lighting by making it brighter and add a touch of colour.

The place to be! Super friendly staff and a Chef who delivers the dishes himself. Had way too much on the table and the waiter offered to pack a takeaway bag for us. We had lunch from the dinner leftovers and it was nothing but gorgeous. The meat is beautifully cooked and the sides very well flavoured. The house wine, both red and white are pretty nice. Not being cheap, but I though the bill came a bit higher even with their discount, however overall, was a very pleasant experience.

The food was superb. Beautifully cooked and, as far as I am aware their own speciality. The Chicken Bahdam was a lovely big dish with fresh ingredients. If I lived closer, this would be a regular stop. I will definitely come again.

I have been to Kiplings several times recently (more than once a week now) and I have been very impressed by the way that standards seem to be soaring here. The food is generally good to very good with some special dishes which show a real desire to offer a creative slant on Bangladeshi cuisine. Last night, I ate the King Prawn Mooli "King prawns cooked with coconut milk, ginger, curry leaves, green chilli spices and served with fresh coconut bottom.a very unique dish.worth a try." The description is from the website. Delicious prawns, but a little bland for me. Gorgeous-looking, though (see photo)! The lemon rice is absolutely great and the standard English "Indian" classics are absolutely spot on. My partner had Chicken Passand (sic.) last night and comments 'just what I wanted'. Another couple left singing the praises of the restaurant so fulsomely that it was almost embarrassing. The service is absolutely impeccable - extremely nice people who are eager to please. So, four stars. Downsides? Hesitations? Well, there are some inconsistencies. Last Thursday we (three of us this time) had some poppadoms, three spicy, two plain. One of the plain poppadoms tasted extremely stale and the other was not much better. Sometimes the dishes change in size, particularly rice. When we first went a single portion of rice was quite small, now it is vast. Wine - we are always drinking them out of Muscadet! Perhaps we are the only wine drinkers among the clientèle who buy anything other than the house wine? The ambience is relaxing and has been improved recently. Some tables are more pleasant to eat at than others - I wouldn't really fancy eating at the centre tables in the evening as the lighting isn't wonderful there. Also - the aluminium foil effect on the wall behind the bar really has to go. It is grotesque. So, all things considered, out of 5: service 5*, food 3-4, ambience 3. That's really not bad for a local restaurant in Hendon. Recommended.

The food was absolutely exquisite. Gordon Ramsay would love this representation of this top quality Indian restaurant. My tastebuds are still tingling, took me all way back to the age of 12 when my dear mother cooked a fine dish of chicken jalfrezi, if you can still hear me mother all the way up there, this restaurant reminds me of you. I felt each mouthwatering bite I took it levitated up to the heavens. On a serious note, it’s a great restaurant! Great food.
