VALUE FOR MONEY & LOVELY STAFF
This little breakfast (&lunch&dinner) joint can cure hangovers and fill the biggest gap in your tummy.
The laid back retro diner interior makes you feel all relaxed as you tuck in to one of the biggest breakfasts I have found on the triangle. The Man had 'Set 3' with a lemonade (weirdo) which involved sausage, beans, perfectly fried egg, bacon and THREE black puddings. His mountain arrived first and I anxiously gripped my Cappucino wondering if we'll manage it all and if we'd get toast included ;) then my 'Early Starter' turned up and I abandoned all need for toast. I had a plate full of bacon, scrambled egg, hash browns, beans and tomatoes. It was delicious and just what I needed on a Saturday mid morning.
I would rather it came with a bit of toast but to be fair it's only £1 if you want to add 2 slices to the table.
The service was fast and friendly and the Man was super happy that the waitress called him gorgeous, darlin, sweetheart etc..... I think she has a different term of endearment for the end of every sentence.
The whole shebang only set us back £15.15 and we had more than enough so if you are going with people that have smaller appetites then it would be even cheaper. It's a nice atmosphere, good for children too with yummy looking milkshakes and burgers on the menu.
I feel bad we didn't go sooner because I judged a book by it's cover and thought from outside it didn't look great as it looked a bit dated but I really love it. Could just do with a bit of music and it'd be the perfect go-to breakfast place.
My family and i had a very good experiance at Alistairs. The service was friendly and welcoming, As soon as we walk in where made to feel like members of the family. The waitress had a warm and caring smile, making us feel totally relaxed and that is. when the food arrived, i couldn't believe the size of the portions, needless to say we left content and a few pounds heavier.
I ordered the southern fried chicken and pancakes the chicken was excellent crispy and tasty the pancakes where a little bit dry could have used a bit of butter but overall pleasant experience.
Love coming here. The guy who runs it with his mum is a legend. I've been with my work colleagues and my family too, so show these guys love and give them a try 😉
Great place only thing is not many tables
This has become one of the few places we visit repeatedly, it's excellent value for money with big portions and a varied menu, fast and friendly service and often quiet. We've had the mac n cheese several times and the oreo milkshakes are insane!
No nonsense greasy spoon food (I mean that in the nicest possible way) with an American twist classically large portions great for anyone who enjoys a proper stuffing. My favorites are the milk shakes with a choice of all the toppings you could possibly imagine and a calorific meal in their own right. Friendly and helpful staff always up for a banter
Second year running I've visited Alistairs and again was not disappointed.
Working nearby we went for breakfast and lunch.
Great food, huge choice and fantastic milkshakes.

Me and my daughters ate here today..the food and service was amazing and the diner was spotlessly clean as was the toilet..will definitely come back when in the area
Ordered a steak with salad & chips and a relative ordered a full American breakfast. Our jaw dropped in awe when we saw the fantastic portion sizes. The food was tasty and we left with huge smiles on our faces knowing we had an authentic US portion-size experience and filled stomaches. Will spread word about this cafe and will be back, that’s for sure.
This is a fabulous cafe. The staff are extremely friendly and humorous. Ideal place to have a really nice meal or a quick snack. Oh by the way, they do excellent Milk-Shakes and Fantastic Banana Boats and cuppas.....Well Worth A Visit
I had the chicken and pancakes; absolutely sensational! I wish there was more chicken haha, but it was so nice. Laaarge portions, rich milkshakes and I can’t wait to revisit. The owner and waiter were also very patient and kind.
Great place. First time here. Decent food, really nice decor (if you like American diners!) And the service was friendly if not amazing.
Absolutely everything you’d want from an American diner, pancakes were delicious and milkshake was great too. Prices amazingly reasonable. I will be coming back.
One minor issue the coffee frappe was basically just a cold latte with ice cubes in it? All it needed was to be stuck in a blender and would have been lovely.

Possibly the nicest waffle I've ever had! Got the waffle special which has hot berries and pecan nuts, whipped cream, ice cream scoop and maple syrup....not for the faint of heart, this is one huuuge waffle! And only £7!

Great food and great price! Nice ambience and good service. Portions are ginormous, we normally go there for brunch and order two set breakfasts plus a waffle to share and can barely finish... but we can’t go without the delish waffle! Pancakes are also delicious as an alternative. We’ve also tried salads and hot dogs and they are pretty good as well! It’s definitely one of our favourite brunch places and we will keep paying a visit every time we go to Crystal Palace!
Very welcoming diner-style café with good service and large portions. My teenage grandchild really enjoyed themselves!
Fantastic American Diner! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food. Very helpful when catering for my gluten/dairy/meat-free restrictions. I'll be back!
