Desi Khana

A very wholesome food place with a quality to fulfil one’s appetite with a variety of delicious food options. From lamb chops to chicken tikka masala, everything is well cooked. The exclusive sweet options including kheer, matanjan and gulab jaman is very well made with the exact amount of sweet in them. I would recommend everyone to try the Lamb biryani. I could eat it any time all days throughout the month. The ambience is very friendly and one can have a whole lot of Desi touch in Desi khana.

For taste, portion size and price, I have to give this restaurant 5 stars. Even the staff were so down to earth and humble that the eating experience felt like I was eating with family. I didn't when know this restaurant existed among the high profile and over priced restaurants in the tooting area, but it surprised me when I visited it today. Will definitely recommend and come back again. The lamb nihari, chicken biryani, fried fish and freshly made naan were all great. Service was very good, and my family loved it.

Last night I visited Desi khana with my friends. The staff was friendly and hospitable, especially Manpreet her Punjabi is so sweet. She helped us in ordering food. We ordered daal channa and mutton curry plus naan and roti. The taste of the food was delicious. We enjoyed the food. They offer samosas, kebabs, veggies and sweet dishes.

The food here is some of the best in Tooting. So authentically Pakistani. You can taste the time and love gone in. No corners cut so the flavour is amazing. Some of my faves are the lamb or chicken karahi dishes. But all the curries are great. Today we got the lamb liver and heart curry which was delicious. Not as fancy as some of the places further up the high street but definitely more tasty and good value in comparison too.
