We had a fab meal and a lovely evening, celebrating my birthday. Avoided the 'Eat All You Can' option...went for the 'Sun Ya Banquet'...Splendid! Great service too.

The food was quite good. We had grilled pork dumplings, egg fried rice with the Szechuan Style scallops and Phoenix & Dragon chicken and prawns.The service was quick and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The only disappointment was the desert - coconut icecream which tasted fine but was rock hard. Had to wait till it melted so I could take a bite. Overall a nice experience. Will definitely visit again
I have used Sun Ya for over ten years now ever since I moved into Charlton. I normally use their take away service on a weekly basis and some times go in for a sit down meal on special occasions. They are consistent in terms of great taste and service.
My only gripe is that they do not do deliveries which means that I have to leave the comfort of my house!!!
Dont be confused by the fact that you have to walk through the Take Away to get to the Restaurant. Three of us went and had a great "old school" Chinese meal. The staff were exceptionally attentive, even showing our coeliac diner the ingredients that were going to go into his meal, bringing out the bottles of Soy and the like to show that they were gluten free. We had a vegetarian platter and chilli squid starter, Singapore mixed meat noodles, crispy Duck and mixed vegetables. All were really nicely presented and tasted great. With a couple if sift drinks and a half bottle of wine, the bill cane to £45.00. None of us do Chinese very often as so many places just turn out rubbish these days, but all three of us were delighted with our meal. Thoroughly recommend if you after a pleasant atmosphere and a decent no frills Chinese.
Love the food here, espcially the specialfried rice with some hoi sin sauce. Amazing!!!

I am a regular diner at Sun Ya. I have always been greeted with friendly, happy, attentive staff. The food is always amazing I would definitely recommend you try this restsurant

Not been here for a while, so was pleased to see they're taking a leaf out of the East London playbook and offering a lunchtime menu. They've put a lot of thought into this, and for 'round here it's nice to see a modern offering among the endless sandwich variants. Now the Rainbowl sitting on my cushion is pretty much straight out of the bag - the scallops and Thai lime sauce could keep you going for a week, they're that good. Salad is fresh and well balanced, not too much over-stuffing to pad out the bowl. For the ten odd minutes it takes to grill the salmon, it's worth the wait to take this one home.
Genuine Chinese cuisine served here, accompanied by a warm and amiable staff. The dining space is cozy and inviting, making for a pleasant experience.

The best Chinese take away in the area hands down. It is always busy at the weekend. The food is consistently good, with generous meat and prawns when ordered. They also have a restaurant with very good service from the helpful staff.
Everything is recommended. My favourite dishes are..... All of it.

Yesterday was the first time I had ever visited this restaurant. I made a booking very late via Google on Friday for myself and a few friends to go here for something to eat before we ventured down to The British Oak for their Ska night. The restaurant was empty when I arrived but it soon filled up - they were fully booked and even had to turn people away! The restaurant is very clean, decorated beautifully and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was faaantastic - very fresh and not at all greasy like some places I have been to. We really dived into the menu and the meal (for 6 of us) came to around £143 which divided between us all worked out around £23 each - and that included beer and a couple of bottles of wine. Very reasonable indeed. Certainly recommend a visit if you're looking for somewhere to eat. I look forward to returning there myself some day. Wonderful!

Location is unique due to easy local conveyance availability in all directions.
Full glass window allows you to sit quietly and enjoy moving traffic in nicely gardened busy square. Food is good and cordial and energetic staff helps you choose from menu to suit your tastes. Service is fast.and variety of choice to siute your appetite. Do visit once and try, i am sure you will visit again and again.
