My family and I greatly enjoyed our meal at Kar Kuk. The staff is friendly, with lots of complimentary goods -- tea, baklava, lentil soup, etc. to bookend our meal Very inexpensive -- less than 20 quid for a full lunch. The food was authentic, all ingredients were very fresh, and overall everything was extremely tasty! I hope to come back very soon.
Delicious food served fast. Lots of freebies like lentil soup, salad, hummus with naan etc. Excellent value for money. For 5 of us the bill came to £62.50 and lots of food was left that we packed and took home.
Good food really nice lamb chops. Complimentary soup, salad and tea. Very filling. Authentic ambiance. Lovely fresh bread
Hawler Iraqi Kebab Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Iraqi cuisine in London. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly service that continued throughout my meal.
The menu features a wide selection of traditional Iraqi dishes, including kebabs, kubbas, and stews. I ordered the mixed kebab platter, which included lamb, chicken, and beef kebabs, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the accompanying sides of rice and salad were fresh and flavorful.
The ambiance at Hawler is cozy and inviting, with a comfortable seating area that makes for a great dining experience. The service was top-notch, with the staff providing helpful recommendations and attentive service throughout the meal.
The prices at Hawler are also very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and service. Overall, I highly recommend Hawler Iraqi Kebab Restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience on Edgware Road. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner with friends, this restaurant is sure to impress with its delicious food and excellent service.
What's there not to love about this place! As soon as I walked in and sat down, I was greeted with a complimentary house soup. Shortly after, I got a salad, a big platter of the flat bread, and what seemed like pickled carrots and similar veggies mixed in some curry. All these were complimentary. I've never experienced anything like this before at a restaurant so was a bit hesitant to eat them and then get a bill of stuff I didn't order; but they were truly 'on the house'. My main dish was tasty. After my meal, I was served with nice hot Kurdish tea. The servers were wonderful and the owner was super nice and helpful with explaining the menu. Food was served in reasonable time. If you're still reading this, check em out already. I'll be back.
Excellent food and service. They started by giving us free soup, salad, red beets, hummus, a greek sauce and a big piece of bread! Then we got our main meal mixed grill with a lamb chop skewer and chicken kofta with rice and salad. Big juicy portions. Finally, they gave us free tea. Everything was great!
My first time ordering online from hawler slemani kabab and grilled sea bass with salad the kabab good portion with grilled tomatoes, green pepper, onions parsley . Grilled Sea bass with salad as well and two iraqi bread , one hummus dip and other dip with dill with fresh salad these were extras by restaurant with the order
Personally I love Hawler. I read some reviews complaining about service. Fair enough, it is friendly but uneven. But food of this quality, at these prices, in Central London? I can forgive some slow service and don't mind waiting a little longer to eat here. It's hard to beat.
Lamb Shank and rice*
The food was good, not quite full of flavour as I am usually used to. Was sort of bland-ish but we were given 3 different sauces/small sides which you can mix, these were also lacking spice and heat! The food was very healthy though, it was a proper healthy filling meal! Went for Iftar with some friends and the quality of food and service was brilliant! The price is extremely reasonable too, my meal plus a coke (we also got complimentary lentil soup, baklava + tea) all for around ~£17/18. Would recommend.
The food is good and delicious
As we entered inside they served us with salad, humus/yoghurt dip with naan and Lentil soup on the house. We then ordered the kebab platter. At the end they provided Turkish kawa tea and baklava on the house. Waiter was friendly and warm. Not much of a wait either for food to be served approx 5 mins.
Hawler was an absolute Wow-ler. See what I did there.. erm anyway the review!
The service I received from the owner/ waitresses is by far the best service I have ever had.. as soon as I went in I was offered an absolutely fantastic lentil soup(free), soon after I got a salad along with some pickled vegetables (free yet again) and absolutely fantastic crunchy naan( Yes, free!) oh and also a scoop of humous and middle eastern raita..(Free again!) Like cmon?! Talk about hospitality!! I was absolutely gobsmacked at the sheer generosity!
In terms of mains we order Lamb Tikka with rice and lamb shank with rice and Okra sauce. Lamb tikka with rice. You just have to try it.. The tikka was cooked to perfection and the marination was something to cherish. The lamb shank.. this is what Hawler is most famous for.. erm it was O-K. For me its abit too bland. Cooking mind you is brilliant.. peeling of the bone, but for me just missed that oomph! Anyway thats just my Pakistani palette. Once we were done with the meal.. which only cost £36 with the tips.. we were given tea. Tea was £4.50, lol joke. That was free too. Blown away by the service, not too much by the food. If you’re around the area please visit this beautiful little restaurant! Its not too far away from edgware road station.
Great job guys.
Definitely one of the best middle eastern resturant in the area. Tasty food, good portion size and very reasonable prices. The service was great. The girls were very efficent in dealing with customers. They even served extra food for free.
Very tasty food and reasonable prices, service is quick and the staff is very friendly. They offer hot oven baked bread until you say enough! Their signature kofte kebab is best, it's almost like Turkish adana kebab but this is a lot tender and melts away when you eat it. They offer free tea and baklava at the end.

Food was so good and delicous
Service is a bit disorderly when it is a full house, but the staff is super helpful and accommodating. Food is just impeccable omg had the lamb neck dish with lentils soup and side dishes that meal was out of this world 🫡😻
