Still Life

A great cafe to chill out in, friendly staff and a very cute dog in residence. We just had tea but the food coming out of the kitchen looked awesome so will be coming back for brunch for sure. Dog friendly and menu adaptable for veggie / vegan. A great local place that deserves support! Update - we went back Sunday 27th Oct 2019 and had brunch, plenty of veggie and vegan options and the food was great, a bit different and very delicious with lots of flavours. Not entirely sure what the story is behind the stuffed animals, we didn't ask

A destination for the decor alone, you will need time to look at the beautiful museum/art/fossils in the lovely old restored white cabinets built into the walls, original I think (it is a cafe/museum/still life gallery after all). Going to try its monthly Thursday? evening still-life drawing classes where model interacts with the amazing surrounds, £10, 7-9pm. Very friendly owners and staff. Just had a couple of great coffees and delicious vegan banana bread with butter?AND peanut butter surrounded by delic. sweet drizzle, a complete meal's worth! They use lovely enamel cups etc and recyclable takeaway and good wifi. Had to have a second great coffee. A relaxed place to work, laze or chat.
