Haru Xpress

This place is brilliant. I'm so happy that Ealing in general is welcoming Japanese culture to our borough. Haru Xpress has the best delicious food available to order and collect in store or delivery. However I would like to put out that the opening times for the restaurant is quite limited, especially for a college student like me. I would like to be able to access the facility from the afternoon till evening.

Under New Management - so this place still has the old Haru sign above the door, but it's been taken over by a couple of young guys setting up on their own, and it's absolutely fantastic. New name is Umami (I think - forgive me if that's not correctly spelt). We got takeaway from there the other day and it was really good, so we decided to pop in for lunch one day. The seating is basic - just bar space and stools (not unlike many of the best sushi places in Tokyo) and everything is freshly prepared in front of you. The guys are really friendly and offered to make any kind of sushi we fancied - so we just asked them to surprise us. What a good decision. Some absolutely outstanding sushi followed - tuna, with a hint of spice, and then classic nigiri mix. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Fresh, beautifully presented and prepared. We also had some karaage chicken (also great) and the gyoza are fantastic. These guys really deserve to be successful - we'll be back.
