I've had take away meals from Rajah Rowing Team a couple of times since our friends who live in Dulwich really like the place. They reckon it's the best Indian food restaurant in the area. I haven't tried any other so I cannot confirm that.
The food at RRT is of course refined to the British palette and I suspect the chefs may be from Bangladesh hence the taste of the food is not very traditional Indian. That doesn't mean it's bad.
I quite like their biryani and prawn poori (a dish I have never heard of before in India). The curry that is served with the biryani is ok. The chicken tikka was slightly bland but that could have been an off day.
Overall decent food. I think it's priced higher than the other Indian restaurants in the area. I would recommend the place.
Have been collecting my order from here for a few years now and it has been consistently excellent. All very fresh and authentic, recommend prawn saag and lamb lasuni - both excellent.
Have been ordering from rajah for a few years now. Hands down the most authentic Indian food in London that I have tasted. Everything is on point. I have nothing bad to say and really recommend trying - you will go back
We've been going there since they took over from the previous Indian takeaway. We've moved house within the area three times and tried a couple others locally but still rate them highest.
Delicious food
Brilliant delivery service
Now has online ordering.
Always friendly.
My favourite Indian take-away. I've been using this service for the last 3 years although it may be longer. I love the dishes. My favourite regular dish was the Butter chicken but recently I've had to stop eating gluten and dairy. I've tried lots of other dishes and they are all delicious. I usually have a delivery and can't fault the service. Yum!
Well tested local place for that time you just wanna grab some comfort food. They are always ready for you within 10 minutes. Food is very decent, staff is super friendly, very respectful. Kitchen is open plan so you can see how they prepare your order. Mind that you can not sit inside. It is a take away/order place only. Recommended.
As far as Indian takeaways go, Rajah Rowing is up there with the best. Always fresh and delicious food, with friendly, professional, speedy service.
Often you walk by in the day and can see the staff cleaning the kitchen from floor to ceiling – it’s refreshing to see an Indian takeaway with such an obsession on cleanliness and quality.
The menu includes all the classics – it’s a real treat.
Best Indian takeaway I have had in the area, quite easily. Interesting and subtle spicing. Tastes like a great deal of care has gone into its preparation. Even the bog standard (i.e. chicken tikka masala) dishes were a cut above the usual. Ganapati (nearby) is also pretty good, but this seems like far better value.
Fantastic food. The best Indian food I’ve tasted outside of India. Highly recommend. All the food is cooked fresh to order (you see them cooking it if you go to pick up your order) and is absolutely delicious. They are also always friendly and helpful.
This place definitely rivals other SE London favourites. We come back here for takeaway time and time again, often picking up because they're so quick. The flavours are great and it always tastes so fresh and never greasy.
Best proper un western Indian food for miles! I’m Indian, gujarati and live locally. Western Indian food isn’t my thing really, it’s an occasional indulgence, but my boyfriend introduced me to this place and said it was good Indian food and I doubted him before trying it and it’s incredible. Close to my mother’s cooking, the staff are lovely, everything’s made completely fresh to order from scratch - i’ve seen it and unfortunately can’t comment on delivery times are we’re so local we pick up.
