South Pole Saloon

This is quite a trendy place and gets especially busy in the summer when they turn it into Brixton Beach. Each year it gets bigger and better with great music and food options. If you don’t like sand in your shoes, this is not the place for you but go and check it out in the winter instead when they do a complete refurb for a winter theme.

Went here a couple of weekends ago and had a lovely time. Pictures looked like it was outside so wrapped up really warm to prepare for a col evening ahead - turns out it's mostly tented and there's heaters all over the place so it's really snuggly! Good food, reasonably priced drinks, good music and even a glitter bar where you can have your face/beard glittered up! Really good night, only problem was the benched area where people are sitting is a little too loud. You can't really hear each other talking! Perhaps turn the music down for the area and crank it up for the dance floor area to create some different vibes? Also, my friend queued for ages at a stall for mulled wine, only to discover they don't serve it. Was told to go to the other bar, where he queued for a while there, only to be told again they don't serve it at that bar either! He got a beer in the end. Maybe a little more communications between the stalls? Minor things really - had a really good night!

Now that rooftop parties are all the rage I had to check this place out. Fun beachy theme with the sand. Very young crowd felt somewhat soulless but I still had a good time. Most of the staff were friendly. They have a free photo setup that will take your pictures and email them to you as a gif which was a fun touch. A fun way to spend an afternoon but I wouldn't pay more than a tenner to get in.
