Been coming here for years. A bit late for a review i know, but i guess i owe one. Food and staff has always been excellent. We booked our staff Christmas party yesterday in the private function room and everybody had a great time getting to know each other with the karaoke and delicous food/drinks. Great experience for everybody who loves good food and having a good time. Thanks again China Palace Excel. You guys have been awesome!

Good food and service recommend the duck and hot and sour soup. Didn't wait long for the food and we didn't need to reserve a table unlike other restaurants in the area

Nice spacious restaurant with excellent service. The food is brilliant and probably serves some of the best Guangdong style dishes around without the touristy crowds of Chinatown. Highly recommended!

My theory is that you can never go wrong with Chinese food. It's the same everywhere and this place is no exception. The food is good and liked the dim sum very much. The service could be better.

Missed the dim sum sadly, but as a group we order some nice Guangdong dishes to share. Food was good and I enjoyed most of the dishes we chose, tasted somewhat like what I had in Hong Kong Also, if you want to order a bowl of rice each for a large group, they recommend making it into one big bowl, it's better this way. I saw a number of other Chinese families and groups eating here. That speaks volumes.

ultra authentic cantonese food! the rice noodle roll (cheung fun) are so damn smooth and with delicate grains, the fried taro (41. Deep Fried Yam Croquette) is best in london, even finner than most place in hong kong. The pork intestine treated so well (12. steamed “Tai Cheung) exceptionally good

Great dim sum and awesome atmosphere and decor , warm welcome from the waiters and waitresses. If you want legit Cantonese dimsum and dishes, I'd recommend this place. There's free parking which is a bonus.

Sunday dim sum here is always a nice, chilled catch up with friends. We never have to wait for a table, the food always comes out quickly, fresh & hot.

A spacious restaurant located conveniently by the Excel centre. I’ve been here previously for dim sum and that wasn’t bad at all. While at an exhibition, l didn’t fancy the food sold inside the centre, l popped here for a 3 roast meat rice dish. It was pretty decent, enough sauce was given to blend with the rice. The roast pork and duck was ok, duck were tiny pieces and was given the parts that were just bones! The cha siu roast pork was the best and a good portion of it. I think the blanched pak choi needed some sauce on it as it is a rather bland vegetable. The rice portions was larger than some places in Chinatown so was surprised. Service was friendly. Had to take a long call after l finished my food and wasn’t rushed to pay. Overall l was satisfied.

Great service and dim sum. At the start we'd get a smelly waft of the toilets... we were sitting near the entrance and not toilet area...

Take out adventure, anyone? We drove over an hour (yup!) from Canterbury for this Chinese food and… it was worth it! I’m actually NOT a lover of Chinese food but my friend has spoken about China Palace, Docklands for years where he would go after work in this commercial district. Then today, on a whim, we hit the road so I could put it to the test. We didn’t order until we arrived, waited no more than ten minutes in the car, turned around and drove back home. Just over an hour later the food was still warm and fresh and yes, I admit, delicious. It’s the best take out I’ve had in ages, and better than any traditional Chinese food I’ve eaten in Canterbury. I’m surprised to see such a wide range of ratings and reviews here, and can’t imagine that this same restaurant could have delivered any food or service under four stars; though based on our experience today I give it five for take out. But this was only my first time, so who’s to say? I will for one, because it won’t be my last take out trip to China Palace!

The food was ok, service very quick and friendly. The restaurant itself is nice and large with plenty of space but still manages to keep a nice ambiance. Only reason for a 4 not a 5 star is I found they bring the food out a little quickly and this makes for a rushed feeling.

We were tentative about coming to this restaurant as thought being next to ExCeL centre it would be expensive and portions would be small and quality mediocre. Wow I was so wrong. Although it was quiet due to covid the food was so nice and fresh. We've been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and it exceeded our expectations. We thinking of cancelling dinner reservations elsewhere to come back again. Food was really reasonable priced considering portion sizes and I like my food. Thank you so much!!
