Amazing food and Great Service! Great selection of wine as well!
Increadible choice for those seeking to experience extraordinary mediteranian dishes. The atmosphere, the quality of the service, as well as the vibes you get when visiting life goddess can only be compared with traditional deli cousines in Greece or with the memories you created in your last trip to Greece. Excellent!!
Υπεροχο μαγαζι... Γευστικο φαγητο... Κατι απο Ελλαδα
Excellent food and lovely restaurant . Like the warm approach only the door open sometimes was bit cold other than that great
Πολυ ζεστό περιβάλλον εξαιρετικο φαγητό και άψογο προσωπικό!!
Fantastic in every way. Modern Greek. Definitely a must try! We will be returning very soon! Thank you so much for a great time and delicious food!
Amazing food and atmosphere!!!!
Had some great food, service was spotless, would def recommend. Tried the Greek soil salad first, then the lamb souvlaki - lamb's best end with mustard and mint on a skewer, sensational.
A hided gem at Soho !
Start with a Greek meze or the meat plater and then continue with sexy lamp chops and the delicious lamb shank!
Beef cheeks with homade papardelle it's a must !
Excellent wine list
Don t forget to finish with greek traditional chocolate mosaic!
Yammi !!
Definitely recommend!!
Amazing food, top quality wines straight imported from Greece. The street food section in the menu is extremely interesting. A bite and a sip and it feels like you are in Greece. Totally worth it!!!
It is a place you wish to find in Greece and enjoy hospitality and proper Greek food. Must try the moussaka and the street food. We tried the Assyrtiko wine and tsipouro at the end. Lovely orange pie.
'Yumm' is the word. We wandered in here after a long afternoon of shopping. We ordered the Greek Soil salad and an orange pie with ice cream. The sale was fresh, abundant, authentic and most importantly so delicious. The orange pie had a lovely texture and was light & fresh. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
Having began as a little deli on London's Store street, supplying fresh and authentic Greek delicatessen, The Life Goddess recently opened up a restaurant in Kingly Court, Carnaby. After hearing rave reviews about the place, I decided to try it out to see if it lived up to the hype. Outside, up on the second floor of Kingly Court
Crete is one of those places high up on my bucket list that I haven’t quite got to yet. I have family on the mainland of Greece so my trips there tend to revolve around seeing them. But I often hear my cousins and other Greek friends talk about how wonderful the food is there. It’s an idiosyncratic cuisine with fantastic produce and in ‘raki’ the Cretans have a drink that makes ouzo taste like your mother’s milk.
This place is such a lovely little find in Kingly court off Carnaby street. The food is traditional Greek and the chef here it's amazing, that paired with the quality ingredients made for a lovely lunch. To start with we both opted for a Greek salad, amazing feta, sharp dressings & juicy tomatoes made for a gorgeous combination. For main I opted for chicken stuffed with feta served with Greek pasta, an unusual unique main. My other half opted for the moussaka which for me was a little sweet but he loved it. We shared a very big cherry chocolate cake which was a lovely end to lunch though it was £8 which seemed overpriced to me. All in all of your looking for traditional Greek food in a cute pretty little restaurant and you want a quiet spot away from crazy Oxford street this is your place.
We began the evening with cocktails. I opted for a whiskey based delight with chocolate, orange and maple syrup to sweeten things up, while my guest chose the rose bitters with grapefruit and orange. Both were beautifully balanced but with one-hell of a kick of alcohol. Though perhaps not the best accompaniment to dinner, these cocktails were as lethal as they were delicious.
Nikos, the co-founder of The Life Goddess, generously took the time to talk us through the menu and make recommendations, thus we ended up with a table-groaning amount of food. To start we shared the Greek burger (massive), octopus cooked in red wine (monstrous), smoked eel salad (beautiful), classic Greek salad (fresh) and prawns in a tomato sauce (rich).
For me, the burger was the real star of the show. Made from buffalo meat that was 'milky' (meaning under six months old) and served inside a brioche bun, this burger was a delight to eat. Although it was massive for a starter, it was a great option to share. The salad was completely unnecessary but the zingy dressing was a gorgeous way to cut though the richness of the meat.
That said, the fish starters of octopus and eel were both exemplary too. The octopus had a beautifully soft texture thanks to its three hours of cooking in red wine, that worked wonders with the fava bean (split pea) hummus. Again the salad was unnecessary but this beast of a starter was a great choice again to share. The smoked eel, which is one of the most expensive smoked fishes in Greece, was beautiful. The smoking was quite light but gave a richness to the fish, not unlike smoked mackerel. The salad here helped to balance the rich flavour which I would definitely order again.
The prawns were nice and correctly deveined, but the sauce was nothing impressive. The Greek salad was dotted with the freshest, most soft feta I have ever eaten. The cheese, according to Nikos, is made in a small farm in the north of Greece and has earned three gold stars at the Great Taste Awards. The soft cheese worked beautifully with the fresh vegetables and the oil dressing was very light.
I know, I'm overwhelmed with food too; but seriously there's more! The main courses all came out together and were a celebration of the best meats available in Greek cuisine. We shared a buffalo chop served with rosemary and black truffle oil and mini roasted potatoes. I would have liked my potatoes crisper (but I'm British so there you go) and the dressing needed a bigger punch of truffle as it was pretty invisible. The meat was again very tender but I'm unsure if the chop is the correct cut to be served alone.
We also opted for the classic moussaka. Unlike most versions were the vegetables and fried and then added to the dish, the potatoes and aubergine were actually baked before being added to the dish. This avoided the dish having too much fat and therefore a greasy texture. The cheese on the top was really light allowing us to enjoy the mince below as an individual flavour. It would have been nice to have a green side for the moussaka to help balance each mouthful.
Whilst predominantly tourists eat here, it’s still somewhat off the main paths for most, making for a calmer atmosphere compared to the high street. Food is quite good, so is the wine, but setting you back around £60 for a decent bottle. A can of beer comes at £7.50 and the mains at around £20-£25 are a good value.
Excellent experience, superb service and delicious food! Great vegetarian option (highly recommend the sharing mezze latter too!).
Friendly staff that were quick and helpful, combined with tasty authentic Greek food - makes for an excellent
experience 🎉
We found it a little pricey for the portion size but the food was tasty and they let us sit without a reservation so we were happy to stop by. Servers were friendly. The potatoes were also the best side. So delicious.
We had a lovely evening here. We were told it would be a 20min wait on a table, however the staff offered us drinks to have while we waited which was very nice.
Our waiter was super passionate about the dishes, particularly the mezze platter we had to start. It was fantastic, along with the Feta rolls - a must!!
For mains my friends went with the Gyros which was apparently lovely, while I went for the beef Orzo which was really tasty.
Again staff were lovely, food was great and a lovely atmosphere. Would come again.
Small Greek restaurant in Carnaby St....I went with two friends for dinner and wine. Lovely service and OUTSTANDING food!!! Great portions and so much flavour. I had the "fish of the day" and risotto- which was seabass.
I'd really recommend the food here. 👌🏼🐟 Standard London prices - recommend to book, as gets busy.
Had a lovely spontaneous lunch here at around midday on Friday, our host Eleni (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) was fantastic, really friendly and helpful with the menu. Me and my partner had tzatziki, pitta, king prawns, beef meatballs and orzo seafood pasta to share - we were very full! Portion sizes are great and the food was very very tasty. Thank you!
Myself and my partner came here for a meal for my birthday last week. The restauraunt and building was very busy but the waiter managed to find us a table sat looking out onto the balcony in about 20 minutes. We ordered a jug of the rum punch which was lovely, a starter of the feta spring rolls on the recommendation of the waiter (which were a taste explosion!) and the chicken gyros and lamb leg for mains. The food was absolutely brilliant and we thought that the bill was reasonable at around £100 including the service charge. Would definitely recommend to others!
Food was really good, especially the pork steak and lamb shank.
What a lovely place! First time going with a girlfriend and we had a great time! The food portions are big so come with an appetite! We had the feta spring rolls and humous with pitta to start. She had the chicken gyros and I had the lamb souvlaki! It was all so flavourful and well presented. The cocktails were great too! Honestly a great evening. Thank you so much! Service was great too.
Do you want authentic gourmet Greek food? What about a great selection of Greek wines? And excellent service? This is the place then. Life Goddess is where you eat like a Greek God.
We didn't planned this dinner out but was a really good dinner. Staff was really friendly we chose an aperizer they have a few nice aperizers. Then I got a salad which I was surprised for the size and how good was it. Then me and my friend got a main I took the moussaka which was delicious and My friend took the lamb also was good portion and extremely nice.. I wonder how the test of the menu is? I guess everything is nice ..you definitely should go and try.
Located in the lively and energetic Kingsley Court, this restaurant is located in a nice 2nd floor corner away from the noise in the main outdoor seating below.
The decor of the place (including the toilet 😊) has such a nice authentic feel to it that does take you away from the London scene. The service was polite and expedient.
The food was very nice, starting with the mixed starters dish that did produce a mix of flavours I hadn't come across before which stood out and along with the olive bread provided a very nice start to the meal. Also had some meatballs as starters which were very tasty (although watch out for small bone fragments). And the mains were very decent portions, I had a beef in orzo stew and my friend had the calamari. The beef was nicely cooked and not chewy like other places with the sauce providing good taste ontop. And the calamari dish had a generous good value for money amount.
Definitely recommend
Lovely Greek spot for lunch perfectly situated on the second floor of the food court area. We sat at an ideal bar spot looking out the open windows. The food was delicious— splitting the shared meze plate, the smoked aubergine (my fav), and the prawns — in addition to my cocktail, which was just ok. I’ll definitely be back!
Amazing Greek food and service. The waitress Eleni was fabulous. Friendly lady with a massive smile who accommodated all are requests. The food was delicious. The only thing missing was the beach. I highly recommend this place for lunch and will definitely be going there again!
Location being Kingly Court that gets a 10 on 10. Compact little greek restaurant with good food options. One thing I did really like was that their cocktail options were very limited and the one I had wasn't really great. Staff was polite and kind however it took a good few looks over the shoulder before we could grab their attention. Seating is bit tight but it's a good place if you there to have good food and a long chat.
We love this cozy restaurant. It’s right in soho, perfect location to grab dinner while out shopping. The food was really good. It
was one of the best Geek meal I’ve had for awhile. Cocktails were ok though, nothing really special to write about. Service was great. The waiter was supper friendly and helpful. One downside is it’s kinda pricey and the portions are kinda on the smaller side.
We came here on a Sunday afternoon for a pre theatre lunch and had a delicious meal. We had the Lamb Souvlaki and Chicken Gyros to share between 2 but there was easily enough food for 3! Deliciously cooked, very friendly service, great atmosphere and a nice location with the buzz from the other restaurants around. Highly recommend if you're a fan of proper Greek food. Will be back! X
