YUM!! This place is great the safe were lovely to fit our group of 13 in. Dumplings were very tasty and a great price! Will return very soon
The food was great and they are so welcoming great service perfect food great experience would recommend that you can also have such a great experience as I did.
Market Row in Brixton houses so many Restaurants, pop ups and street food dining that it’s very easy to just go for a place that has free tables and seats. This would be a mistake, forget the eatries and the well established chain restaurants and make your way too happy dumpling. They specialise in BBQ pork buns which are literally worth fighting your family for the last bite, which is often why they run out very quickly but do not despair other offerings on the menu include meat dishes, noodles, soups and of course dumplings in falvours you would expect to quirky ones like red bean dumplings for you adventurous snackers out there.

Happy Dumplings is a Brixton Market gem!
It's be easy to pass by when you see the boxes of tesco value tissues on the wobbly tables for use as napkins, but don't. Pull up a chair and order a mixture of dumplings, noodles and chicken skewers.
The dumplings were piping hot and cooked to perfection; not greasy, not soggy but crisp and full of filling and flavour. You can even choose to have them cooked three ways, steamed, fried or in soup. The portions are large and you definitely won't go hungry!
Next time you're in Brixton market give Happy Dumplings a go, I assure you you won't leave disappointed!
I Love the Prawn Coriander Dumplings, Cha Siu Buns, and the Duck Rolls. It look nice and tasted very nice, very good value for money.

This is not your high class establishment like duck and waffle this is your 'everyday' kind of establishment where you'll sit on tables not quite sturdy and plastic chairs but you'll keep coming back too because of the friendly service the down to earth and tasty street food and the environment that cannot be taken for granted, that just makes Brixton, Brixton.( those that love Brixton know what I mean by that).
An added advantage is that is fairly cheap, so be sure to share your meal and mix and match to try every little bit of the menu. I went with two of my friends who are not shy to chow down and we ordered 4 dishes and drinks and it only came to £13 each and there was food for tomorrow's pack lunch left over!
So for quick, easy and down to earth food, head to Happy dumplings!

One visits this particular restaurant just for the view and nothing else. the food is mediocre at best. You are allowed to bring in your wine which is superb. The view of the city and the market place is spectacular. The staff is helpful and courteous. The prices at the restaurant are also reasonable.
This place serves some of the best and authentic Chinese food I've had in my life and I've been a regular visitor to this place. Some of the dishes served at this place that I love are their Crispy duck with pancakes and their steamed dumpling. Also, the prices of this place are pretty reasonable and the staff is quite friendly as well.
I recently tried this place and had a wonderful time here. The food was just fine but somehow it did not meet my expectations as I think the dumplings could have been better. The ambience was wonderful with beautiful decor. The service was pretty efficient. There was a wide range of options on the menu and I still feel that maybe I should have tried more options and I would be more experimental on my next visit.
The food of this place justifies its name. It was a happy place. Really like their Chinese dumplings. Full of flavors and perfectly steamed. Along with serving some authentic dim sums, they also provide a course on how to make them which is a really good thing i felt! Highly recommended!
The setting wasn't great and the staff wasn't up to the mark but the dumplings and soup were both delicious and well served. Sometime later I came here with my partner for dinner and had steamed and fried dumplings with soup which we shared. The food was amazing , and we were allowed to take in our own wine which was a good thing because we had a great wine merchant just down the lane.
We decided to have traditional Northern and Southern Chinese style dumplings. We ordered Xiao long bao and Pan fried noodles. Prior to the food arriving, a basket of prawn crackers was given on a complementary basis. We shared a pot of tea between 3, which came in a beautifully adorned transparent glass pot. It had a burning candle keeping the tea warm, which was rather thoughtful.
I went last night with my girlfriend, and I had a remarkable experience. The service was very good and food was excellent. I ordered ribs, chicken dimsum, prawn skewers and BBQ pork buns as starters. For main, we had tomyum rice noodles in soup to share. We also brought our own beers. We had plenty of food, I would definitely come back with my friends.
One of my favourite restaurants in Brixton. The staff are wonderful and provide a really personal touch. The food is excellent, full of flavour, very generous portions and cooked beautifully and with love. We visit often and are never disappointed. Also great vegan and vegetarian options!
We turned up late on a Friday, we were informed that they were really busy but decided to stay and wait. Definitely worth it. Service WAS slow, we expected that. But the food was worth waiting for. Very hot, very flavoursome. We really enjoyed ourselves and absolutely would return. We recommend it to passers by who turned up later than us when the kitchen was closed.
When I asked to take home the left overs, they topped up the pot and pretty much gave a full extra portions. Mamma happy dumplings made our night and was very accommodating. Check this place out!
I can't recommend this place enough! I went with a group of friends just gone 11pm, mainly because it was one of the only places still open for dining in. Was so pleasantly surprised by the experience. The food was great - generous food portions, decent prices, and everything seemed to have been made fresh. However, the star of the show is the amazing, accommodating, generous lady whom I assume (co-)owns the restaurant. She was so sweet to my friends and me. I hope their business is booming, as she and her partner/colleague truly deserve all the best, and I can only imagine the strain it must be to have such long opening hours. If you happen to read this, thank you so much for a great evening, it was the highlight of our whole night :)
One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in London. Both the food and the service were hearty and felt very authentic. A joy! There wasn't a dish we didn't love. The people managing this small but sweet establishment were so kind and generous they made us feel at home instantly. A gem.
We went as a group of three and one of us (who had lived in Beijing for 10 years and spoke fluent mandarin) felt that this place was bringing him back to China. The service is super friendly and try to recommend you well, the food is lovingly made (the dim sums I can't recommend enough, the filling was super tasty, not just some tasteless meat with spices to cover for the lack of quality). I would happily go back.
Amazing little restaurant with incredibly friendly staff and food that tastes authentic and prepared by people that really understand it.
The crispy pork belly is one of the best ones I ate since visiting Hong Kong and the buns were soft and tasty as they should be.
The place is moving in the new year and I’ll be sure to visit again as soon as they do.
Sat pavement-side under an awning on a spectral evening. Charismatic and heartfelt service from their spectacular matriarch. Mixed fried dumplings a solar system of deliciousness. Cucumber salad a rainbow of umami and invigorating spice, like showering in a glacier. Please go to this restaurant.
SO good! Authentic dumplings, generous portions, the braised aubergine was incredible. And just lovely, friendly service from the lady that runs it. Already planning when to return!
Chaotic but in the best possible way, generous portions, braised aubergine was a highlight. Got slightly overcharged at the end but didn't mind as we enjoyed the experience so much.
The Food was absolutly delicious!! The Woman who served us was incredibly kind and we even received chips and wine on the house for no reason ! I can only recommend this place if you‘re ever in Brixton!
xiaolongbao is fresh and succulent, aunty very friendly also
SERIOUSLY good food in a relaxed, cosy setting. thank you to the owner, we had a really great time!
So pleased to find this gem in my neighbourhood. I ordered the cucumber salad which was the perfect mix of salty and spicy, alongside a selection of steamed and fried dumplings. These were the best I’ve ever had anywhere and tasted really authentic. Loved it! My favourite part of the experience was the friendly, polite service we got from the owner - she made our day! Be sure to visit if you’re in the area, it’s amazing value to boot.
Had takeaways, good portions for a good price. Lady who owns the shop is lovely and will likely shove you some Cha-Siu buns at some point (for free).
BRING CASH, that catches some people off when they go to pay at the end
New location, same food and service. The mixed happy dumplings is THE order to get. At its price point it's great, just don't expect Michelin star food.
Absolute pleasure to have come to this restaurant, the lady was super friendly and the food was very delicious 😋
