Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The price for the food was also quite cheap considering the atmosphere and location. I also love the idea of having the skewers cook in front of me. There were five of us and in total we spent about £126(after discount). Because it was my birthday and I booked the table in advance, they offered me a free bowl of noodle and a discount. Would recommend it for people who is looking for Chinese BBQ near Chinatown, or a BBQ party with a group of friends
Personally I didn't like the beef tripe skewer and the pork kidney with fat skewers. They have a weird after taste to it.
Food I really like
-belly slices skewer
-glutinous rice cake
-beef tendon skewer
-beef brisket skewer
-lamb skewer
Also tried a range of different skewers, they are alright.
It is a very decent chinese restaurant, fresh ingredients, good flavoring and very modern setup.
Maybe due to the location, the price is amazingly high comparing to the amount of food you are getting. But the flavoring has nothing to complain.
The waiter put the table number as the amount of guest on table, so there is a unbelievable overcharge for the side ingredient but it was quickly fixed when they are informed. They offered you the order details printed after you order, so you can control it easily so I think it is just a small operational mistake.
It probably gonna cost about 80 pounds each if you want to get well fed in this restaurant, but for the location, the food quality and atmosphere I would say it worth it.
the food was good and fresh, the price is alright for 2 people. i got 30 skewers something, 2 drinks, 1 noodles bowl, and 2 oysters and the total bill is £60. 1 skewer is just about £1-2. recommended. the cold noodles here was so good
The food was good, authentic Chinese barbecue flavour and the dipping.
You should order everything at first round, waiting time a bit long. Highly recommend to try the Chinese sausage and the oyster, they were very nice.
The price overall a bit pricey. The service need some improvement.
First time visiting (bbq skewer lover here), really glad I tried it despite reading negative reviews. Firstly the cost of skewers, despite being located in the heart of london, their prices are very similar (if not less) than other skewer places outside central london. I especially enjoyed the pork belly skewer (usually a huge lamb fan), it was so juicy and tender.
It was a nice surprise to see they had crayfish on the menu, which was delicious. The cold noodle dish was very refreshing and full of flavour, really enjoyed the texture of the noodles itself. I will definitely be returning
I honestly don't understand why this place had that many bad reviews. The food is definitely super tasty, slightly on the pricer side indeed, but comes with really good quality. The staffs are friendly and constantly coming around to help check if the skewers were cooked. I have been there multiple time and will definitely come again!! One very close friend told me this is actually authentic and if the staff doesn't speak perfect English (still could communicate perfectly with them) that is only a stronger argument for authentic food!
The only negative thing I have to say is that the bathroom could be a bit cleaner but apart from that this is one of my favorite places to go in London!! I, personally, strongly recommend this place.
Awesome skewers (串儿) spot, has lots of traditional Chinese food dishes. Worth a visit if you want to try proper Chinese food rather than the western equivalent. The 羊肉串 was a particular favourite and the staff were super friendly which made the visit even more enjoyable
staff are very helpful and friendly and service is really good. not to mention the food is also so good! very nice and retro atmosphere
Pretty straight forward. This place is all about skewers and beers lol.
We didn’t have beers so I’ll stick to the skewers.
You know a place is good when you see locals visiting it. This place was full of Koreans. FULL.
For a Korean bbq place I must say they had a few vegetarian options. So points for this.
My friends loved the meat. They particularly liked the steak ribs (they ordered extra). The skewers themselves were kinda small so make sure you get enough to fill you up.
Service was not their strongest suit but it was very busy when I went so maybe it was just a bad day.
Overall very polite staff and interesting experience of us grilling our food.
On the downside, at some point I really felt my face would burn from the grill placed in the middle of our table. But I guess I’m just a shorty. The others had no issue. Lol.
IT was really fun and enjoyable ! the staff were very helpful - giving out more napkins and taking the skewers off when they were done. I had 10 + skewers and fried rice. I was happy with all of my choices. Many of them were marinated - so u don't need to use the spices they lay out for you. The beer was a little flat. They didn't add on any service with the bill, so I left the staff a tip. They deserved it.
I had a great time and the skewers were delicious. The oyster and scallops were particularly yummy, as were the fried noodles and cucumber salad. There's only beer in terms of alcohol, but your first clue is in the title ("Skewer & Beer") - oh be warned, they play quite loud euro trash, pop techno, dance music which is quite grating, but other than that it was great. Be warned it was cash only when we went, which can be difficult as your bill can add up quite quickly!
