As soon as news was received that a prospective new member of 100 Black Men of London, Damian George, had a connection in a roti shop, President Elect saw it as his urgent duty to find out if the roti shop was worthy of a Presidential stamp of approval... Despite it being over 1 hour journey from me, I took on the epic challenge to reach Hilltop Roti in West Ealing. And fortunately for me, it was not only worth the journey, it meant my weekend started with a fantastic Friday! From the minute I walked in, I was warmly greeted and felt instantly at home, like I was dropping in on family. Although no doubles were available with pholourie on the menu, for me it was to be the perfect starter. Worth the wait as it was cooked, this version with extra spice in the tamarind sauce was truly exceptional and full of flavour. My ginger squash to wash it down, was the perfect accompaniment. As I enjoyed the very generous portion size, little was I to know that it would affect my ability to manage my Ital roti... Whilst on some occasions in life Size 'May' Not matter, when it comes to the art form of eating roti, especially after one has had a generous portion of pholourie, size DOES certainly matter! Especially when you factor in the E-P-I-C size of the rotis at Hilltop!!! So my Ital roti was presented and to say it packed a punch would be an understatement. Callaloo, channa, pumpkin and potatoes are the usual ingredients, but President Elect asked for shrimp to be added (as they ran out of channa). So my Ital became a bespoke item worthy of any President! I have had many a roti in my youthful life, however, I can honestly say I have not had one so full of FLAVOUR! Right through! And with a portion of delightful pepper available, I was able to regulate the heat on my roti, as and when I wished! This epic roti was twice the size of rotis I have previously bought! When I got half way through with a smile on my face, I was fully satisfied and content, but what kind of MAN only eats half a roti? So with another tasty ginger squash for assistance I attacked the 2nd half of the roti and also sampled some of the tender full flavour of the mutton roti of my dining partner! In the end I decided to graciously accept defeat with a very small peice left on my plate. So I guess I will be obliged to return to prove myself! Minor flaw: there was no soca playing when I visited! Overall summary; Hilltop is a place you can sit down for 2 hours and enjoy delicious, fresh, FULL FLAVOUR Trini food, excellent value for money, with excellent customer service, (plus, you can bring your own alcohol, too!) A MUST VISIT place, thoroughly recommended by 100 Black Men of London President Elect! #HilltopTopClassRoti

Limited seating available so recommend to call and reserve a table of eating in (they mainly do takeaways via Just eat and Deliveroo). Staff and owners were very friendly. We ordered mutton, chicken, prawn dhalpoori rotis. Everything was cooked well, well seasoned, rotis were stuffed and not stuffed with cheap filler like potatoes. Most important of all it was very tasty, not Laden in salt and not oily. We also tried macaroni pie which is recommended, plus a coconut drop for dessert. Happy to recommend and will be coming back here again. They also do catering for small parties.

Got there by a chance. Great food! Tried mutton roti. One of the best I have eaten. Very homely and attentive people. They cook and serve the food themselves to you. Lots of original Caribbean soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. All types of malt drinks there :) Would recommend!

Had a mutton roti. The place is simple and friendly, with carribean music. The roti was fresh and handmade in house. The stew with mutton and potato was perfectly cooked. Very tasty. Only issue was price £7 which I found expensive for a take away and for the area.

Best roti I've had in a long time. We ordered the chicken, the mutton and some callaloo. Really impressed. The food is fresh, tasty and they are not stingy with the meat or the portions. Will definitely be ordering again.

I had the best service an Caribbean restaurant had to offer. The food was on point tasty, fresh and the staff welcome you like family. Really loved this place. The ambiance and music was sweet! Would travel an hour from home to go there again. Lovely!!! The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 but would give them 1/2 if I could is because the buss up shut was a little salty for my taste and I like salt

First visit and wont be the last. Staff were really lovely and child-friendly. Curry chicken rotis tasted amazing and big enough for kids to share. They loved the vanilla cake too! Thank you ! X

Went to Hilltop at the weekend w/ a friend, on the recommendation from another friend and also, surprisingly, from a member of staff from another local Caribbean restaurant. Tried both the chicken and mutton dishes. Great service, great staff, healthy sized portions and dishes exceeded, quite frankly, expectations. Needless to say it's now a new favourite.

Friendly staff, good customer service. The sweet lady explained to me everything as I was a complete novice, she was very helpful. Nice atmosphere whilst eating in and I felt like I had some nice warm home cooking. Absolutely fantastic will go again it's a shame they don't deliver where I live. 😊
