Queen Boadicea - London - Photo album

A truly lovely pub in Clerkenwell, just south of Islington. Very close to City, University of London, so lots of students and academics. A friendly clientele and great bar staff. Good chat with Charlie, the Manager, who explained the history of the pub’s name since new ownership (just before the
Charmaine is probably one of the nicest barmaids I’ve ever come across! She welcomed our group with open arms and she felt like one of the family! Such a laugh reason to return when we’re next in town!
Once again Mr Google has fallen short on the number of stars available, six or seven needed! The feeling and attitude of the crew really makes this place. A fine pint of keg enjoyed. A bit thin today on the cask front, cider also available via the pump. Excellent place for a beer and company.
A great pub minutes from Angel tube. Large variety of wines (for me!) & weekly changeable ales (for the other half!) Friendly knowledgeable staff introduced me to a delicious Azulejo white wine which is now my summer fav 😍 (also vegan🙌🏾)which went deliciously with their vegan mushroom pizza. We'll d
Whoever took over the pub recently is doing a great job. Also busy, lots of friendly staff so you always get serviced quickly. Pizza are great.
Cute and vibrant corner terrace in the sunshine. Great energy at the Dame Alice Owen Pub for after work drinks. Tasty vegetarian bar snacks (we loved the roasted cauliflower and falafel!), will definitely be back to try the pizza!
their limoncello spritz is a must, as it’s homemade! the atmosphere is so great on a sunny evening with many many benches outside. never had their pizza but my friends swear by it, a great local option!
Stopped in for a pint, staff was friendly and the place was nice! Beer was cold and I would come back again for sure!
Super nice local pub in St John Street with a good selection of small snacking plates and pizzettes. Shame is closed during the weekends! But great after work vibe during the week.
Lots of interesting whiskeys on offer. Dropped in after riding the tweed run. Great place to stop to eat and drink.
We recently had our wedding party at Dame Alice Owen and it was perfect from start to finish. Charlie managed the event excellently and the rest of his staff where very helpful and attentive. Such a nice laidback venue which is exactly what we were after. Food and drink on the night were great too.
I always get the lunch menu which is £7 for the food, really recommend it the food is amazing and it changes daily, one day having pasta with a venison bolognese sauce to a chorizo, egg, hash brown and all sorts of great things salad. Best place to eat near city university by far.
Dame Alice Owen pub or Dame Alice Owen's school? We poped into this lovely pub out of curiosity, our child goves to the same named school. Warm welcome, very homely and friendly staff. Great choice of beer. We didn't have any food but it looked very tasty. Many different pizzas. (Margarita for 9£).
We had our wedding party at the Dame Alice Owen pub this past weekend and I couldn't recommend it more highly. A few highlights I want to draw attention to: 1) The staff were amazing. The managers, Charlie and Alastair, are exceptionally nice and went out of their way to make our night exactly how w
I held my baby’s christening here in June and the team were absolutely amazing. From first conversations, to being helpful setting up and that excludes the actual event! The food was beautiful and the team made sure everything was going smoothly throughout….I’m already finding my next event to hav
