Cosy, homely place that feels like a little piece of France.

This is a delightful family run local bistro similar to local restaurants you find all over France. I'm not giving 5 stars because there's always room for improvement and maybe after my next visit I'll up the stars! Food is excellent and service is charming. Go there and see for yourself!

A small but very cosy restaurant! Really enjoyed the chill atmosphere there. We went there for dinner before we move of Penge, and it turns out to be a good choice! P.s. onion soup could be more oniony 🧅

We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Exquisite food served in a friendly and homely atmosphere accompanied by a great selection of French cidres and wines. Book in advance as this place is (deservedly) very popular.

Support local! It's only for the best, where amazing put their heart and soul into beautiful and traditional cuisines. Thank you for an amazing experience, we had a lovely 3 course meal. Excellent value of money. The steak tartare was done to perfection. I will definitely be coming back !

I really like this hidden gem in Penge. It's a small chic place with just a handful of tables so definitely get a booking ahead. We went there on different occasions and tried quite a few bits of the menu. Staff is nice and really helpful if you have any questions.

Excellent food, great menu, great service and good value for money. The restaurant is very authentic. It feels you are in France as soon as you walk inside. They use very good quality product, fresh vegetables, homemade fries. I would highly recommend. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and great French music playing in the background with all the classic French tunes.

This was second time visiting here and food was amazing both times! As any restaurant in France would be, Bistro chez Yves is also dog friendly :) I was so happy to find out it was dog friendly as I really enjoy the authentic French dishes here.

A really lovely French Bistro, reasonably priced with mouth watering food, unexpected quality in Penge! This was a really nice surprise to discover in Penge. Tucked away in a side street, just off the High Street is Bistro Chez Eve. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look like much and it doesn't reflect the quality of the restaurant. Inside the restaurant you are transported to France. There is a great selection of proper French food offered inside a dimly lit open space with a few rustic tables to sit at. We were served by a lovely French waiter who was very attentive and yet unobtrusive. He was very helpful in recommending appropriate wines to pair with meals. The food that we had was exquisite. The duck was so tender, slipping off the bone easily and full of flavour. My potato's were crisp and also full of flavour. The turbet was served with a sauce that complimented and didn't mask its flavour. I didn't get to try the third dish. All of the food was presented well. The improvement that could be made here is the addition of better toilet facilities. In covid times an addition of paper towels in the toilet and working taps is a necessity.
