I love this place. I’ve never had a bad meal. Always exactly as I remember, if not better. I always go to the Soho branch and can vouch for the quality there. Wilde Bock Roll is by far the best thing in the main menu in my opinion. Keep it up guys!

Made an emergency unplanned pitstop here before a show and having lived for 5 years in Germany our expectations were high and they didn't disappoint! If you're looking for delicious authentic fast German food and drinks with good fast service look no further. Would definitely make the effort to find again. 9/10 xx

After a few drinks in the Soho area I decided to pop in here for some grub.

I'm not a huge fan of hot dogs but my cousin kept telling me I had to go here to try the pomme frites and curry wurst.

So I ordered one meal deal with the sausage in a bun and another with the sausage cut up in sauce to share with my friend. Now a fight almost broke out between the two of us over the hot dog in the bun so that was the clear winner. The bun itself was so fresh and delicious and must have been homemade. I would definitely go back and get a whole hotdog (in a bun) to myself to avoid any future aggro!

This week’s blog is about our trip to Herman ze German. Situated in the heart of London’s soho on Old Compton Street. It offers traditional German sausages, imported from the Black Forest. Whilst the sausages were well seasoned, they did lack a bit in terms of grilled sausages. The good thing about Herman ze German though is that you can mix and match what you'd like to accompany your sausage. Be it carbs or no carbs. Everything has been well thought out so as to not detract the attention from the star of the dish. You can't really go wrong with a beer and hotdog and Herman ze German definitely has got it right!

Wurst & salad, the carbless option (£6.75) – simple side salad with apple pieces and a light dressing. We chose the chilli beef sausage which had a crisp skin giving a bit of a crunch as you bite into it. Well seasoned with just a slight hum of heat from the chilli.

Bratwurst hotdog (£4.45, no toppings): this comes plain, so you have to add toppings which come at a small price, although the crispy onions are free. We opted for the crispy onions and sauerkraut.

Currywurst roll (£5.95) – the sausage is sliced up for you to make your meal more managable. The sauce itself isn’t that spicy – more like a sweet, tomato, tangy curry sauce. The crispy fries were extremely yummy and perfect for dipping into the curry sauce.

This place is amazing. I love it. Such a fun place to eat. The place is small enough but there is extra seating upstairs (or was that downstairs?) They server traditional German food including schnitzel but they are famous for wurst! German sausage. You can choose from different types of sausage and toppings. I had currywurst chopped up and served with really good crispy fries. The also sell cool soda and German beer. Staff are super lovely too and the prices are so reasonable. Cannot wait to go back.

Had a really yummy lunch here - I went for the bratwurst in a bun with cheesey pommes, while my husband has curry wurst and chips, piled high with curry sauce, onions and jalapeños. Both choices proved delicious and were delivered speedily to our table - always a bonus when you're grabbing lunch of a workday. I've been told (and can well believe) that it gets very busy later in the week, but I wouldn't mind having to queue for a wurst as delicious as this.

The Bockwurst was hands down the second best sausage I have ever had in the United Kingdom (The first being at the german market in edinburgh). I was really impressed with the quality of food and will be back again

Cool vibe.
Reasonable prices compared to crazy atmosphere in Soho.
Serious dogs, really good sauerkraut.
Be sure to check out Fritz line-up, by far the best cola I encountered in a long time.

This is my go to place when I'm craving for a bratwurst and some fries. They do a good deal that comes with a drink too which always come in handy during lunch breaks.

I like the casual feel of the place and definitely think the sausages are all flavourful. The bun that comes with it is good too!

They also sell Fritz-Kola which is a soda I became fond of when I went to Berlin!

The second home of the best wurst in town, is a lovely spot in Soho, with a big street floor and even bigger basement, where is possible to go with a group of friends and enjoy all the delicious wursts, schnitzel and chips with your favourite toppings (crispy onion and cheese anyone?). If you love this establishment, you'll love this site.

German food is like Dutch food: Hearty and starchy aka sausages and potatoes. And that is exactly what you'll get at Herman Ze German. On the menu here it's bratwurst, bockwurst and the most popular sausage of all, the curry wurst. They are served on their own or snug in a bun and drenched in mustard or the tomato/curry sauce. You can enjoy them with Herman's fat-free chips, German potato salad or a side of sauerkraut and wash it down with Fritz-Kola or Paulaner beer. Herman Ze German is open for breakfast and lunch as well, but don't worry, it's not just wursts and spuds you'll get. In the mornings and at noon you can enjoy freshly baked pastries and brezels as well as muesli and sandwiches.

Best sausages in London!! Definitely give their spicy sausage a go! The best part, however, is their fries. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s just amazing. Definitely the best fries I’ve had in quite some time!

Food was good and they had a vegan sausage option made from seitan. The service was ok, waitress seemed confused about every order she was bringing out and initially gave us someone else's food. The price was ok for the location and there is seating available inside.

Always a favourite when I’m in London! Consistently delicious and some of the best currywurst outside Germany! Good quality sausages and love the fritz cola. Quick and delicious. Will keep going back, hasn’t let me down yet.

A really fantastic place! Me and my bf went here to get a 'real German taste' - and we got it!! The smokey sausage was really amazing, and so was the regular bratwurst. We didn't dare to taste the spicy one, even though we put chili in everything 😂 we are originally from Denmark and was surprised to SE remoulade on the menu, it tasted really good - but it wasn't like the Danish remoulade, but that was fine 👌👌👌 wish we had this in Denmark, I loved the atmosphere! And the manager was really helpful and so nice!

Selection of wurst and veggie options as well as a couple of craft beers with a range of Fritz cola. You can select different combinations to keep your costs low but whatever you choose you will not leave this place disappointed.

Only tried the Chilli Wurst after walking around the area. Was surprised that it was really delicious. Price was fair and would definitely come back for a main meal.

The food was good and reminded me of what I had in Germany. It is a little pricy. The decor downstairs makes me think of a 1960s beer hall, which is unusual but nice, with candles, benches, stylised wilderness and pop art. Quite an experience for London though not something I will do regularly.

Came across this place whilst trying to find a bar. The food was really good. Although what I ordered never arrived to my table. Still very nice though. Some nice choices of beer, although £5 for a small can seemed a bit excessive.

This place caught me by surprise, never had proper Bratwurst or curry sauce with chips, and I often don’t go out to eat in London due to things being too expensive but this place was great not too expensive, delicious and very filling. Definitely recommend!

Amazing vegan hot dog with curry sauce. Great price. Would definitely recommend a visit to any vegans. Best hot dog I've had! (The fries are delicious too!)
