Kupp. Paddington

A very very disappointing experience! As a Swede living in London I’ve been excited to try out this place. I went today with my sister + my kid and we were at first impressed by the greeting at the door and the decor of the place. Unfortunately it quickly went downhill from there!! We must’ve sat waiting for 20 minutes until someone took our order. With loads of staff around and barely any customers you would think service would be quicker! We ordered the meatball sourdough sandwich, the skagen prawn sandwich and a latte. My coffee arrived cold so had to get up to get a new one. Food arrived quick-ish but my goodness that £15 meatball sandwich was not quite what we expected. Some sort of radish(?) mess was on a third of the plate, possibly the least appetising thing I’ve ever seen! The water/vinegar from this mess was all over the plate making both the fries and the toasted sandwich soggy. The skagen sandwich was ok but for £11 we expected more than ok! No one came to check in on us, to ask if we wanted anything else or to get our bill. In the end we got up and walked up to bar to pay. Two staff just standing there doing nothing. Will definitely not come back nor recommend to anyone. Going out to eat should be a treat, unfortunately all we felt leaving was irritation and disappointment. Whoever is the manager needs to seriously sort this place out.

Very unimpressed. Arrived for a business lunch and were told to sit wherever we liked. We were then forgotten. The waiter came up after 15 mins to ask what we'd like to order so we pointed out that we didn't have menus. He went to get some and never came back. So, I went to find him to remind him we needed menus. He came back with one menu - apparently there is a shortage of them. The food came - it was pretty good. We then ordered a second round of drinks - this arrived twice. I ordered a soft drink and this never turned up. I then had to go to the bar to pay as the staff all seemed to have vanished (again). I left with the feeling that this wasn't a series of unfortunate events but a broken business model. By the looks on other people's faces who were waiting at the bar to order in a table service restaurant, I wasn't alone.

It's the perfect location for Spring! Love a visit to KuPP. I've been enjoying food and drink here for a long time. The location on the canal side is great and when the doors open in spring and summer it's a perfect location. The venison burger is so good, but so are the bords. Really enjoy sharing those with friends. One of the things I like most about it, is that you can start your day there with brunch, then come back after work for a beer and it feels like the vibe changes. On my last visit the music was great too! If you like something familiar, but with a few twists, this is a great place to try.

We had brunch on Sunday. The food and the coffees were delicious. The staff were very friendly. They were unfortunately understaffed. Apparently some staff members failed to turn up for work on this lovely sunny day. This meant that they really struggled to get orders out in good time, which is a shame. But as I've said the people working there were lovely and we're trying their very best. I would definitely eat here again!!!

The restaurant was extremely understaffed. There was one (very lovely) waiter serving the whole restaurant by herself. Therefore we waited a very long time for food/drinks and even water for the table. We were not impressed by the food either and will not be coming back. Please staff your restaurant correctly and maybe play some music - there was 0 ambience. I feel for the staff so much when this happens. Either man the place efficiently or you could even reduce the menu if you are struggling during covid-times. But basically unacceptable.

Probably the slowest service I’ve experienced in London. We waited an hour to get our starters… and it wasn’t even busy, many tables were empty. Make sure you order two drinks every time or you risk running dry. Food is decent but not worth the wait. Location is great and staff was friendly, we felt sorry for them having to bear the consequences of what is clearly poor management.
