Fantastic food! Not cheap, but worth paying that little bit over the odds for a quality meal.

Couldn't fault it. Waiter explained the menu and gave a few recommendations. Nice cocktail to start, lovely fresh dishes. Looking forward to going back with company to try more dishes as I was on my own on this occasion. Waiters were really helpful and although food was quick I didn't feel rushed.

Tried this place for lunch and thought it was a successful meal. I ordered their Don Ceviche, it was really nice and very flavourful. Also, tried the Seabass Croquettes which was a good idea as a starter. Tasted the Cassava fries from my friend and we both agreed that it was great.

Ceviche Old St has launched a new series of monthly limited edition burgers for its lunch menu this summer. I dropped by the restaurant earlier this week for a taste. They may see me drop back by again for another. First in the “four month, four burgers” series is the Nikkei: a salmon patty with avocado-wasabi burger on a squid ink bun. It’s available through the end of May and as will be the case with subsequent burgers it costs £8.

The 1st encounter with Peruvian cuisine has been a sound miss, to my dismay. So my friends booked a table for us to go out and let me give it another chance. Well done, friends, well done. Ceviche's food is very enjoyable, packs some serious flavour and made me become a fan. The stone bass ceviche was a hymn of taste, and the pastel de choclo (sorry for the spelling mistakes) was incredible as well. I found the pisco sour very good but for some it may be too much, as the "sour" bit is not a naming subterfuge. Since we were a group of 12, we managed to try pretty much everything on the menu, and it is very recommended. Because we were 12, we also were insanely lucky to have a table where we all fit, as out original bookig was for 2 tables of 6 (for some strange reason); the place is busy, book in advance. The venue is nice, which some odd paintings fusing Andean weaving and painting. The price tag is on the high side, but I believe you do get what you pay for.

I recently dined at the former Alexandra Trust Dining Rooms that were taken over nearly a year ago by Martin Morales and became his second Ceviche restaurant in London. We were offered a table at the back of the restaurant which offered a direct view on the kitchen and the impressive rotisserie, where a few chickens were being slowly roasted.

Dieting can be exciting, can’t it? The rush of seeing all those salads on display, the thrill of counting up your calories for the day and seeing if maybe, just maybe, you can squeeze in an extra slice of lean chicken breast with dinner. No, it’s awful and horrible and I want a cheeseburger.

Sister company of Andina Hoxton and since I loved Andina I decided to give Ceviche a go. The menu of Ceviche in comparison to Andina has more of a fine dining feel. We had the Huevo Criollo which looks like a gourmet scotch egg. We ordered three classics Pastel de Choclo (corn and feta savoury cake), Chancito (pork belly) and Adobo de Pato (roast duck) The two meat dishes are a must but the corn and feta cake is mediocre. Lastly the dessert we opted for the Sueno de Lucuma and this is a little strange but it's ok. I would definitely come back again and try the other dishes.

I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this time I had Peruvian food at Ceviche. One can't help but notice that Peruvian food is really hot right now, so me having it was long overdue. Ceviche Soho and Ceviche Old Street are the two little sisters of Martin Morales' restaurant Andina, serving great food and drinks from the Peruvian Andes.Ceviche Soho was booked full on the night I wanted to go, so we opted for the one in Old Street, which had plenty of tables available.

Great atmosphere is what you are paying for! The food was average to good, but expensive for what you get. Because they managed to write 'cassava', it does not mean you can be charged £4.50 for 4 fat chips. After spending £75 for two people, I found myself hungry after two hours.

If you like peruvian food this is the place to go! Or if you never tried it and like vibrant and fresh flavours for sure you will love it! I recommend to start with a pisco sour cocktail ( amazing! ). Then go on the starters guaca with yuca bread - combo that cant go wrong. Then try the tuna Nippon and seabass ceviche, the delicious corn cake and the lomo saltado, a gorgeous beef fillet ( this dish comes with chips :) ). To finish, if you are feeling the need for something sweet and love chocolate please order the chocolatozo...soo yummy!

Tip: be aware if you dont like noisy places dont go on fridays and weekend! The music if kind of loud and it is surely going to be packed.

As though Peruvian food wasn’t trendy enough already, the latest restaurant on the scene boasts a separate pisco bar too, and has just set down roots in the heart of Shoreditch… With all the ready ingredients for a good night out, my gal pals and I headed East to Ceviche Old Street (sister to Ceviche Soho) for a much-needed midweek rescue.

The Vibe

Martin Morales brought his Peruvian dining concept to East London with Andina and now his original food baby, Ceviche, has opened near Old Street. Goody, Tech City has yet another reason to be smug. But it’s high fives all round as Ceviche is a beautifully executed dining concept; from the shadowy, film noir door sign to the spacious, casual dining room littered with bright Peruvian artwork. The building itself, built in 1898 by Sir Thomas Lipton, of Lipton’s Tea was originally a place for East London’s working class to dine with friends and family and some of that casual post-work dining atmosphere remains.

For dating, it’s dangerous. Small plates arriving speedily only to be inhaled alongside reasonably priced bottles of red. It’s Pisco Sours and a good looking, young crowd – the sort of place you’ll return to with the same date to make it your local. Routine forming heaven.

The Order

Oh it depends. The sea bass ceviche is citrus-y, punchy nirvana. Light, fresh, gone in seconds and a #cleanlean Instagrammer’s dream. On a date, do get meaty. Fluff around with a Pisco Sour but then go in hard with a bottle of red and several grill items. Sugar-cured pork belly on corn cream, bavette steak with egg and plantain, and divine octopus with potato and an olive mayo. Be polite with a side of beans. Finish off with a salted caramel ice-cream.

The Game

Old Street station – no matter how many trendy pop-ups it attracts – will never be good-looking. Meet them at Shoreditch Grind just outside and have a little beaker of red. Then pootle on down to Ceviche and claim your place at a low table (the bar is for 3rd dates). You loosen up here pretty quickly so make sure your chat is a happy mix of playful and deep. Immature kicks under the table, corn tossing and a warm repartee with waiters will go down a charm. By dessert, you’re merry and flushed. Spoon fight over the ice-cream (we should have ordered more) then fix your face in the bathrooms and split the bill. Hug the staff goodbye, then kiss your date in the alley outside. Grab them by the hand and run to the Hoxton Hotel for, yes, more wine. This was fun.

The Faults

You can rack up quite a bill on small plates. But this is counteracted by reasonably priced wine and, frankly, it’s worth it.

We went to the soft launch.  Service was actually quite good for a soft launch.  Only one of our orders was delayed.  If I had been paying full price, I would have considered it rather too pricey.  The waiter advised us to order 3 to 4 dishes per head.  Sebastian Law  and I were greedy, so we ordered 8 dishes to share between us.  This was actually too much food, as I couldn't finish my share of the last dish.  The zomato price estimate is way off, as it is probably not based on 3 to 4 dishes per person, due to small portion sizes.

Decor was pedestrian, given that it is a somewhat iconic building.  It looks pretty much like an upmarket brown pub.  I prefer the decor at its sister, Andina.  However, it is roomier at Ceviche, so this is probably the more comfortable venue. Nice private booths.

From the nibbles menu we had pastelitos and fried wontons.  The pastelitos, or deep fried corn cakes were a somewhat bland comfort food.  We agreed it would have been improved by more lime and black pepper in the creamy avocado sauce it came with.  The wonton fritters were fantastic.  Very tasty and crisp, and with a rich and punchy sauce.  One of the highlights of the meal.

At the ceviche bar we ordered the tuna tiradito and sea bream ceviche.  The tiradito was exquisite with a lovely hint of orange in the tiger's milk.  Portion was really small though.  The ceviche was more of a standard offering, but a larger portion.

The octopus salad was the most beautiful looking dish we had.  Nice balance of acidic, dressed octopus and fried crunchy topping of sweet potato shreds and rich avocado, but there was rather too much stodgy coriander coloured cold potato base.

We ordered the beef heart skewers and pork cheeks of the meat menu.  The anticucho was under seasoned, but a good texture.  Portion was small too.  The braised pork cheeks were meltingly soft on a bed of cassava mash.  Comfort food is not my thing, but nicely done if you like that sort of thing.

Our last dish was the quinoa burger, a dish I've always liked at Andina.  Sebastian Law  was not crazy about it though.

In general all of the cooking elements were well executed: deep frying, grilling, braising and ceviches.  But design of some of the dishes didn't consistently hit the mark to raise this to a fine dining experience.

5 stars for Ceviche, fresh fish with sharp lime sauce. The main dishes such as octopuses, steak and chicken are so so quality, beef and octopuses are too hard. For this reason I only gave 4 stars for review. I recommend you order their side dishs and starter, it's more adventure experience and impressive. Desserts, recommend picarones! Big portions with very nice cinnamon spice ice cream, you can really taste pumpkin s ! Friendly service, we were 10ppl group, everybody was happy for the meal, location and atmosphere. Drinks tried Sarita, very nice! We ordered twice!

Food is all presented really well, tastes really good too! It's slightly pricey for what you get but I think it's worth it. I'd recommend the beef and the seabass croquettes. Ideally located next to old Street station and the service was really good.

Loved the cocktails and all the dishes. The octopus was tender, sea bass ceviche was flavoursome. The pork was melt in your mouth with the crunchy crackling. Really enjoyed all these dishes. The desserts were ok. Prefer the pot than the doughnuts. Found the syrup came with the doughnuts a bit overpowering. The doughnuts themselves were fluffy and tasty. Would go back again if fancy Peruvian cuisine again.

Nice and buzzing atmosphere! Too bad though that my ordered poke was not really a poke. There were little to no greens and it reminded more of a cold rice dish. The two cerviche dishes that we ordered were a bit bland. One of my friends ordered the curry though which supposedly tasted fantastic.

Authentic from start to end. Everything was fresh and tasty. Cocktails were flavoursome and nicely presented. Our waiter was really friendly and polite. An all round good experience - a lack of music or something meant the vibe wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been.

Great decor, lovely ceviche but not so keen on the hot plates. Top tip : don't order all your dishes at the same time as they don't tend to stagger and we ended up with too many plates at one point thus hot food getting cold.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food! We went for my girlfriend's birthday and they were attentive enough to my request that they put candles in her dessert. The dishes are small and costly however, so expect to spend a bit more if you want a good time. The best way to enjoy is get many dishes (+ piscos!) and share. The artwork on the walls are really interesting too! And they are all actually for sale.

We love Ceviche at Old Street. In the wake of post work drinks, we’re frequently drawn through their door, magnetised by the munchies and craving a quick bite of Peruvian fare on the way home. There’s always a warm welcome and if we’re lucky, a seat at their open kitchen bar. Perched on high stools, we study the chefs preparing consistently awesome plates, willing the waiters to deliver them our way. Their dishes are perfect for sharing and the portion sizes encourage diners to sample a variety of plates. Across our many visits, we’ve pretty much worked our way through their entire menu, often struggling to taste new things without filling up on favourites. Mr Flavour has a penchant for Chancho Pork Bites which borders on being an addiction. Crispy pork belly crackling with a piquant rocoto chilli jam, delicious enough to demand a frequent fix. We’ve recently discovered the Seabass Jalea steamed buns: delicate tempura Seabass snuggled in a fluffy pillow stuffed with salsa, red onion and Amarillo chilli mayo. These are going on our Christmas list. The internet isn’t big enough for us to declare love for all Ceviche’s beautiful dishes, so here are a few of Mr and Mrs Flavour’s must-tastes: The Don Ceviche, Seabass in Amarillo chilli Tiger’s milk roars with freshness and fire. Ají de Gallina Tequeños are chicken and parmesan filled wonton parcels, served piping hot with a crunchy texture. The Lomo Saltado delivers a classic combination of flamed beef fillet with tomato and proper chips, but the Saltado sauce adds a pleasingly tangy juiciness which takes our taste buds on a trip to Machu Picchu every time. We’ve lost count of how many times Ceviche has delighted us. Their consistently delicious food served up by passionate chefs and friendly, enthusiastic staff keeps us coming back every time. As a matter of fact, writing this review has made us so hungry that we’re wondering if they do breakfast too. I hope they’ve kept our stools warm.

Larger than its Soho counterpart, with a good selection of food. The mushrooms and strawberries were really too sour, and I would recommend sharing 2 of the pumpkin doughnuts for dessert, not the 4. Best item on the menu is the octopus hands down, Ceviche staples such as the Don Ceviche, polenta cake, Peruvian corn, and pisco sours Excellent as always.
