Cote, is a favourite brand of mine. Simple French food influenced by the bistros in Paris. Whilst attending an outdoor stage production at nearby Hyde Park, it seemed fitting that I would pick Cote having had previous good experiences. Marylebone is a little bit of a snazzy area with some affluent types, cool cafes and independent shops. It has a village feel to it in fact, not giving you the impression at all that it is next to the ridiculously busy A501/Marylebone Road and Oxford Street. It is indeed a haven of a slower place in the middle of the madness.

What can I say about the food. It is not about to win awards to be honest, but it certainly can sustain itself as a brand as it consistently provides good food no matter where you go; and I have been to three now. This goes against the High St rule of losing quality when numbers increase.

The interior is as you would expect a French style brasserie to be. Without getting into detail about it, it just gives you what you need which is comfort and good lighting for pics. The service style was professional and quick. We were worried we would not get to the amphitheatre in time, but everything slotted into place.

We started with a goats cheese salad and a crab mayonnaise terrine with French bread. Both solid choices for starter, good portion size, tasty and with enough room to tackle a main. I had the chargrilled butterfly chicken with fries and a side of garlic butter. Big time yum for the chicken and the fries. The garlic butter was a little tough though. Sam Vanilla had the half corn fed chicken with wild mushroom sauce of creme fraiche and thyme. She looked chuffed and an empty placed sealed the deal that it was enjoyed.

I do not get to Marylebone that often, but luckily for me, Cote seems to be everywhere so I know I can get my no-nonsense French brasserie fix whenever I need it.

For my birthday I was treated to a meal at Cote Brasserie. We were off to a show so we arrived quite early and ordered from the Pre Theatre Menu.

When we arrived the restaurant was half full and we were seated immediately. Our waitress for the evening was really friendly and always checking that we were okay. I started off with pate which was delicious followed by pork belly with mashed potato. My boyfriend had pea and ham soup followed by monkfish. All of the food was yummy and presented in a really nice manner. We also shared a bottle of wine during the meal. I was so stuffed that I couldn't manage pudding which is normally my favourite part.

I would definitely recommend visiting Cote Brasserie if you’re looking for a nice place for dinner before a show as the food was brilliant and really efficient service so we were out in plenty of time.

Good food, nice location and good atmosphere overall. It’s a French restaurant, nothing special. The drinks selection is very limited. Service could be better!

Lovely range of choices for a big group. Relaxed but good service. Lively atmosphere but not too loud. Lots of restaurant choice around this area but would come again. Excellent value too.

A great establishment. The staff are welcoming and professional. Very accommodating considering that I had not made a booking in advance. They are very careful in checking allergies and dietary requirements. Quick table service. The dishes are generously proportioned and served piping hot. Very tasty. Thank you for a great evening. Well recommend a visit to this branch!

Our group of 7 had a fantastic lunch at Cotes Marylebone. Food was excellent and good value for the Prix Fixe 2 course menu. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff although the restaurant was busy at lunchtime.

Great restaurent to go if you miss the French food! Everything was really tasty, it was also my friends birthday and they gave her a cake which is really nice, the only thing I would say is that they charge the bread and as a French is something that we are not at all used to

Great service and atmosphere at this Cote. It’s a regular favourite of mine because value for money is high quality. Ordered the Red Mullet (on special) beautifully prepared but with a few too many bones.
