Very Nice and friendly staff, love the corn fritters
I have been to Franks Canteen a few times now and I love it! It has a great vibe (it is small, homely but also with a London edge to the place). It has a combination of people there, from solo diners on their laptops to families meeting over lunch. Really love the feel of the place.
I had the Beef Brisket Burger this weekend and it was incredibly! I have found my new brunch venue of choice. Well Done Franks!
We love this place. Great food and always lovely to see what's the latest surprise on the menu.
Epic deep fried pickled onions with the Salt Beef. Killa sound track coming from the kitchen. Friendly staff.
Franks serves awesome brunch delights. Lauren always makes you feel welcome and takes great care of you, and they don't mind a small furry one on the floor (dog).
love this place - amazing food and lovely staff. Best brunch in Islington for sure
Was at Franks canteen last weekend, the food was excellent and the service first rate. It's good to know there are still quality establishments around who don't break the bank!
Amazing food. Second visit today and as always very satisfied. Paul the Chef/owner has such a vast knowledge of how to marry certain flavours together.
Will be back soon.
Thank you.
Went here a couple weeks ago on a Saturday and had a lovely morning. Frank's Canteen is located on a relatively quiet street, but the cafe got busy very quickly and although small - had a warm, buzzing atmosphere. The mushroom dish I ordered was delicious - creme fraiche, mushroom, potato & tarragon ragout, poached eggs, parmesan and crispy hazelnuts. Highly recommend ordering this!
If you're heading there on the weekend, best to get there before 10am otherwise expect a short wait,
Intimate little place near Finsbury Park. Weekly changing menu, one for day and one for night.
On this particular visit they had a delicious beetroot dip served with halloumi and poached eggs. Everything was cooked incredibly well and the beetroot dip was light and nutty and went really well with the naan they served it with.
My dining companion ordered the fried chicken which came served on toasted bread with cheese, more cheese on top of the chicken and an arrangement of sweet chilies and pickles and lots of flavorful gravy. The most delicious open-faced sandwich ever!!
The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We didn't have a reservation and managed to get a table by the window very easily.
A lovely local place; discovered it when I was looking for somewhere to meet and eat before the football match.
It was really busy, booking is recommended! Their food/brunch menu looks like they change weekly which is fun and the meal was fantastic.
They also have fresh pastries to buy, great if you're only stopping by for a takeaway coffee too.
As they were busy, the team had forgotten about my coffee initially, but it came eventually.
Nice place though maybe a little expensive for the portion size. Can recommend the Chai Latte if you enjoy them!
Be sure to book as there is limited seating. The plates are made to order and include fresh and healthy ingredients. A few of us did still feel hungry but really tasty.
Went here for dinner and was quite surprised by how nice it was. Everything we ordered tasted great. It was pretty quiet on a Thursday and the staff were attentive. Was a good time.
A small place that you might walk by without noticing, but don't make that mistake.
Frank's has some superb food, interesting and eclectic, prepared beautifully and served by lovely staff.
A little one-off gem of a restaurant that that we need more of.
Delicious spot with great friendly people. Menu is changing weekly leaving you with new exciting tastes each week. The coffee is also delicious and there is a suite of pastries in the mornings to grab while available. They also sell some wines and other goodies. Would say that brunch here is a standout in the neighborhood with options from English classics to hearty hashes and spice full daals and sabichs.
Enjoyed brunch here tremendously. The spinach, mushroom, feta flat bread was crispy and savoury, whereas the add-on sausages were cooked to perfection. The lamb was nicely done. One of my favourite meals in London!
Fantastic meal, excellent value and lovely staff. Definitely recommend it and we'll be back!! So good to have such a great local place.
Cute little eatery! The seasonal menu has many veggie options and the wine list has some good natural stuff as well! Super cosy and the service was spot on!
The food was quite nice and the service was good (a bit slow).
