Just arrived in London and stumbled across this Little ripper. Reminds me of some of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Springvale/ Melbourne/ Australia.
Lovely service and staff.
Very helpful and nice to me.
I was a bit lost looking at the menu, it has very tradition item names with a fusion drink menu.
I just ordered the plain beef pho.
The noodle and soup was very good, but I think the beef differs from traditional pho.
The beef is in small strips rather than the traditional rare beef shank in soup.
Many noodles soups options. We arrived almost at close time and staff was friendly and attentive. Just not really into flowers tea and there weren't that many options.
We were just passing by towards Brick Lane area when we stumbled with this restaurant. Decoration was nice and cousy plus hunger was getting us so decided to give it a shot. Here you can find a good combination of Pho that vary slightly especially on the meat, however all seems to have the same kind of nice spicy broth. Recomended if you are on a Vietnamese vibe.
Food and service were very good indeed. Spicy food with additional mint, coriander, chillies and bean sprouts served on the side for the soup dishes. Great value and Saigon beers recommended!
There is only one thing that had to be tried when visiting Pho and it had to be the Vietnamese national dish of the noodle soup, Pho. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of other items on the menu that sounded just as tasty such as the vermicelli noodles Bun, broken rice Com Tam and the various starters.
A lovely surprise. I wandered in here out of interest - it looked busy/cool. They have a little bar at the back, so perched myself there, and got a run down of the menu from the waitress - never eaten Vietnamese food before. What a surprise! Great food! I had a noodly/salady dish - I think it was called a bun - and it was fantastic. I seriously haven't enjoyed a new food in ages. I'd actually gone off the Asian style food a while back, but Vietnamese is a whole different kettle of fish. It's not overcooked, over-oily, over-etc. It's just fresh tasty cuisine. Again, I really was shocked by how much I enjoyed this place, and cannot recommend it enough.
Best pho in the east. This place wins hands down as the best pho cafe in the east, by far. really great food. love the spicy chicken.. perfect place after work for a few beers and some spicy, healthy food.
Well done Pho!. My girlfriend and I went here the other night on the recommendation of a friend, and were not disappointed in the least.
We both went for 'bun' dishes instead of the 'pho' which is their specialty. It was a warm night, and neither fancied a soup.
We had one with prawns and one with lemongrass pork meatballs - both fantastic. So many individual flavours running round the dish.
They have a great Riesling that we shared upon the manager's suggestion - again, perfect.
It's not often that you get great food, great service, and great atmosphere in London to be honest, but they have it all here. At a really good price too. We will definitely be back.
I'm a chicken and beef lemongrass addict!!! love it!!
I have recently started working in Clerkenwell, and after a few average lunches at different places I was taken to Pho... It was love at first bite!
All of the dishes are fantastic, but the soups, or phos (pronounced 'fuh'), are to die for. It is the perfect meal - a few rice noodles, a little onion, a healthy portion of beef, chicken, prawn, or tofu, and then one of the four absolutely delicious stocks. You also are brought a side-plate with basil, coriander, mint, lime, chili, and some beanshoots to then mix in to your personal taste. You can keep it simple, or throw it all in!
The fresh juices are excellent, and if you can stay out of the office a bit longer, go for one of their lovely flower teas.
There are often queues, so get there early, but the staff are very quick and efficient, so you won't have to wait too long, and they will always get you a drink or take your food order in advance if you are in a hurry.
So, if you haven't been, then get along, but prepare to get hooked...
I was off to see an electro opera at the Barbican and we needed to grab a quick bite. There is a great selection of places to eat around Clerkenwell but we needed somewhere fast so we went to Pho. We were in a rush and told them so when ordering, We both
It's the kind of chain that you'd be happy seeing more of, and I'm very lucky to work just near one. The quality is usually fairly high, and that was handy, with two 'challenging' eaters (one who doesn't like spicy food, yeah, didn't figure that one out e
I come here frequently for lunch and love the staff. Be warned - the place is a bit small and can get packed during the lunch rush. The food is prepared very quickly and always tastes fresh. My go to order is bun cha gio chay. Also, their take away is great and they always give condiments like mint, basil, coriander, chilli and lime. The price isn't reasonable but isn't expensive - it tends to be average for London but their service really does make you want to come back again and again.
I walked pas once with a friend who was extremely hungry at the time and suggested we come here. His response was very apt, " everyone inside is thin, I want to eat more!".
Although he was probably being harsh, I would have to agree that vietnamese noodle broths (pho) are perhaps not the best thing to fill the most hungry stomach. However, when i returned on a cold winter night with another friend, I have to say it was the perfect thing.
The starters are relatively standard fare; spring rolls and the like offering no surprises but more than adequate.
I opted for the beef brisket with a spicy soup as my main and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Its a pretty fun experience to eat with friends, the soup kind of goes everywhere and I do not think its possible to look cool/classy when that happens, which is inevitable! Word of warning, I am pretty on it with my spicy food and this really pushed me - don't go feeling all brave, it will come back to bite you!
Inside, the restaurant has a simple decor and dark lighting, which adds to the chilled mood inside the place which we both liked a lot.
Not sure how much i would like it in summer, but on a cold night in winter - Pho is perhaps one of the best warming places you can visit for a cheap and cheery meal!
Place is great, quiet, quite expensive, but hey it's London... prawn rolls were amazing, just like in Hanoi. The pho bo had amazing meat in it...Beef brisket, steak and meatballs which were just great. So tender...I didn't quite like the texture, but the taste was super good. Broth felt like it wasn't naturally boiled and noodles were a bit hard..wish they have had them boiled a bit before putting into the broth.
Had Bún for the first time and absolutely loved it. Not only were the dishes tasty, this chain of Pho had lovely people working with a smile. I highly recommend Pho to anyone who'd like to tickle their taste buds
Broth was rich and delicious. Beef slices were tender and flavourful. Service prompt and attentive. Portions was good. A good amount of vegetarian/vegan options which is great!
Really enjoy pho every time. Fair prices for good portions with lots of flavour, many choices between broths, noodles, meat, mushrooms etc. Lots of fresh herbs with every dish. Apart from pho, the curries are fantastic too.
Couple of Vietnamese beers and cocktails based on rice spirit.
Love the king prawn pho, the summer rolls and the wings!
The price is reasonable similar to most of the pho resturant, the service is quick amd the staffs are friend which add point to it. 7.5/10, the add-ons are perfect mint with lime, chill and sprouts, I order a pho combo, the meatball did impressed me with the strong favor. However, the soup is good but not as good as I expected and the pho isnt much. Tbh I would really want more rice noodle. But overall good with the quality of the resturant, if you are looking for quick meal, you should put this in your list.
Nice tasting food from a chain Vietnamese restaurant. Quite cramped and staff are a little antsy but overall great.
Decent pho! Loved the amount of choice available and the amount of fresh herbs. Friendly staff too!
It’s a good place for cheap eats, but the phos here aren’t as good as I thought
Went here a couple of years ago but was a lovely experience. Peaceful and quiet, very clean and wonderful food lovely smiling staff. I like the fact that they do not blast customers ears with loud music, the calm vibe is so much more better for lunch. One of the best PHO branches I have been to and I would like to go here again when in London.
Pho. This is what I came here for and it was simply amazing. Loved it. Some of the ingredients were missing but it was still exceptionally well cooked.
Squid that I ordered as a started was lovely too. Freshly squeezed apple juice- you can go wrong there.
It would have been a strong five star but in the middle of me having lunch, the serving Lady decided to brush the floor.
It is appreciated that the place needs to be kept clean however this can be done at more appropriate time. Not acceptable at all! I hope management will look into it.
