This is just the place where you I'll get the best breakfast - brunch you ever had (and you probably you'll ever have) in London.
Full.
Stop.
So, I'm picky when it comes to my food, Especially my sandwiches! This place has completely destroyed any and all of my previous encounters of what I thought were great sandwiches! Top trumped some amazing dishes! Amazing! Amazing! I've had the sandwich three times now, and each time it gets better then the last. I don't write reviews, this is my first and probably last but I had to express my love for this place! Try it, they really know what they're doing! Um... Bye!
Great brunch. Great people. Great coffee. Love it.
I am a big fan of this cafe, the food is great quality and tastes great and the staff are really lovely. I go there 3-4 times a week and I'm not bored yet with the menu as they change it all the time.
Amazing food and beautiful space, such a great little find. Owner is a total fitty.
It. Is. The. Best.
Is it wrong to want brunch more than once per day?
Amazing little find!!!!!
Great coffee
Great service
Amazing food
Highly recommended!!!
It's been a while since I've found a place like this. What a gem on all accounts! :)
Super chill, great coffee, friendly and chatty waiters (surprising for London!)
Little pocket of breakfast heaven
Fingers Crossed is a local cafe I came across in my London Coffee Guide. When I read that they also offered amazing food, I knew I had to check them out. I headed there around midday on bank holiday Monday, with my fiancé.
Fingers Crossed is in a rather unexpected location. However thanks to the cleverly designed logo on the front window you're unable to miss this hidden gem. Inside is a very basic rustic-chic setting, with one long communal table and several single tables. I don't mind the idea of communal tables so we sat down, next to the cakes. Of course. It was busy, with most of the tables being taken up by talkative groups, all who had ordered food. Originally we only went in for cake, but after seeing the food come out my fiance just couldn't resist. I choose the brownie with a cheesecake topping, and he went for the tomatoes and eggs, with Sicilian sardines. Presentation wise, the food was similar to the cafe - a quality product that doesn't need dressing up. The brownie was superb, and is the best invention to happen to cakes since...ever! The baked cheesecake topping added a texture and taste to the egg-less chocolate brownie that I just haven't come across before. I was tempted to bring back a bag full, but managed to resist. The fiancé said his brunch option was delicious, and he loved that he could taste everything in the dish that had been mentioned on the menu. According to him it was the tangy sweet tomatoes that brought the whole dish together though. I asked him if he would eat it again. His answer? "Definitely", and he wanted to try the other similar dishes too.
The barista came over to us after we'd eaten and asked us if we wanted to "...try something different". Of course we said yes, and soon enough two espresso glasses were placed in front of us. "It's iced coffee" he told us. He spoke about it with such enthusiasm that we weren't surprised when we tasted how good it was. It was incredibly fruity and refreshing. I only had a few mouthfuls as I can't drink coffee really, but I enjoyed it immensely. He told us it isn't really popular in the coffee world yet, but if everyone was to try the one he gave us I know they'd be won over.
They don't take cards here, so you will need to bring cash. Don't worry, you won't need to bring much though, as we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was pretty cheap.
I noticed that there were freshly cut flowers scattered around the cafe, which I always love. However it was the service that really made me smile. There were only 3 people working in the cafe: the hostess, barista and chef. All 3 of them were delightful and chatty, whilst making sure everyone had everything they needed. I will definitely be going back to Fingers Crossed, and I will be bringing everyone I know with me!
Super tasty, their homemade chai was strong but very good, and the special I had (pumpkin rigatoni) was phenomenal and there was a good variety of specials. Service was decent even though it was busy. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!
This spot has been consistently good. The food is delicious and there’s always something unique on the menu. The staff are generally nice. The venue is pretty small, but the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. For quality, Fingers Crossed is a cut above most of the other local spots. Defiantly worth checking out.
Love this place - yummy food, delicious coffee and a cosy vibe. Don’t miss out on the cosy backyard when the weather is nice!
Great food in a hipster cafe. Very very smokey in the cafe though. Nice staff.
cosy little place, waitress was lovely and it had a nice relaxed vibe. We both ordered poached eggs with ham hock and butter beans, it was full of flavour, the bread tasted so fresh and our eggs were perfect! The food was filling but not stodgy at all. Would absolutely recommend!
Great brunch place especially their homemade foccacia
These guys have the recipe for a perfect hangover cure. Everything is hearty, tasty and the portions are BIG.
Lovely food, Oz/NZ kind of vibe with smashed avocado on sourdough toast with poached eggs, ham hock with butter beans, hearty and tasty but with herbs and citrus too. Nice coffee. Great chilled little local option. Only complaint was that it was super hot in there but it is generally pretty hot at the mo. Definitely recommended.
A super cool, small café serving good coffee and food offerings. The Bircher, their vegan dish, is simple but delicious. Definitely hit the spot with its fruit sweetness and variety of textures. The staff were chill. Loved this local spot.
Good coffee and pastries/cakes/ bacon sandwiches. Haven't had lunch there but it smells amazing - daily changing 3 or 4 dishes, looks Italian eg pasta, Italian meat cuts. V friendly to all people, dogs. Progressive politics!
Easily one of the best places to eat in Stoke Newington. Breakfasts are great, especially anything that comes with focaccia. The coffee is worth the trip alone. Only negative is that it can get absolutely roasting in summer, but don't let that put you off.
Love this cute little cafe, with delicious breakfast options and excellent coffee. Menu seems to change pretty regularly, as have seen different menus all three times I've visited... Best meal so far has been a French toast-pancake dish with pistachios that cost around £6. Then there was the excellent corn fritters, Bill Granger style, for around the same price. Also had a delicious mushroom, truffle and compte toastie when hungover that was very filling and more lunch than brunch.
Today I ate the most amazing brunch here. Super tasty food, loads of it, friendly staff and reasonably priced....we loved it! All in all a perfect place. We will definitely be coming back!!
Lovely chilled cafe with a great selection of brunch and lunch items all made in house. Relaxed but personal service. Excellent flat whites with an ever changing filtered coffee offering!
Amazing brunch and coffee. Always busy but can nearly always squeeze on a table somewhere. Lovely staff. Would recommend the ham hock or nduja sausage. Dog friendly :)
I was going to take a picture of my food to review but it didnt last that long 😂 Food was amazing and staff were so friendly i forgot i was in london. They found a space for my ridiculously big luggage and explained things on the menu that Id never heard of without making me feel daft about it :) I had the ham hock poached egg breakfast dish with ciabatta and would definitely reccomend it.

Favourite brunch destination for me. And they are friends of the doggies and humans. Inventive dishes like cauliflower caponata with eggs are delivered to your table with a smile and the best flat white in Dalston town. FC you make running a great little cafe look so easy. But I bet it's not. Spot on!
