Rathbone Place is one of three TAP coffee bars in London.

TAP has gained some of it's popularity through social media channels due to its aesthetically pleasing qualities. It's the combination of industrial lighting and reclaimed wooden surfaces that have got the hearts of Instagrammers and Tumblr rebloggers racing.

TAP serve their own beans in house and that's just one of the factors that having people coming back. Offering brewing methods from V60 right through to espresso, there's something to cater to everyone's caffeine needs. If their coffee really ticks the box for you, you can purchase the coffee beans to go.

Boasting a tempting selection of baked goods too, it's hard to say no to a slice of banana bread or a breakfast muffin.

The interior of TAP isn't extravagant, it's actually quite the opposite. Stripped back to exposed beams and rough wooden surfaces gives the cafe a real earthy feel to it.

If you find yourself around the Soho area of London, I would suggest popping in for a brew. I think undoubtedly you'll be impressed.

I refuse to go to Pret or Starbucks (for the most part) as I know there are always new places to explore. One of my first discoveries near the office was Tap Coffee, and their 26 Rathbone Place branch is extremely close to work. They're known for great coffee (and awesome hot chocolate actually), but their food is also delicious. You can get a slice of homemade quiche and a small salad for just over a fiver - a rarity in these parts. And forget the 'small' tag, there's absolutely plenty there!

Another place I'll break my no coffee rule simply because I actually enjoy the coffee here. They source the highest quality coffee beans from around the world and you can even purchase some to take home and brewt yourself.
Besides the high quality ingredients the prepation is also excellent. You can grab an nice and fresh pastry to accompany your nice hot beverage as well I once in a while indulge in a muffin.
The service is great and the atmosphere is even greater. The music is nice and chilled and the overall vibe leaves you feeling better when you leave than when you walked in.

I was disappointed by Tap Coffee (no.114), mainly because it has promise but doesn't deliver.
They use very good blends, unlike most of the independents around this area that only seem to use square mile beans. However, their baristas aren't as knowledgable. I don't expect to ask for a long black and be given an americano. While some may see me as a bit of a coffee snob saying this, but I want to be able to go into a coffee shop and get what I ask for. I'll go to Store St Espresso in the future, they know their coffee in there.
Bar the long black, flat whites that I've had there are really good and it is a nice space with natural light flooding through the windows and plentyful space

I can sum up Tap coffee in just two words: Mind blowing coffee. And that's reason enough to go to this charming old-world-ish cafe in Soho. Add to it a super-friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, you have a winner.

Although recently opened, this place is becoming very popular, thanks to the good reputation of owners who own Tapped & Packed (great places again) coffees close by. There is plenty of place to sit, but chances are you would be waiting for a table almost at any point of the day/week you go. I have been there thrice already, and at minimum I had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table, but trust me it's totally worth it.

If you are a mocha loving person like me, you may just not like mocha anywhere else after you have had a taste of mocha at Tap Coffee. They simply do it the best. My friend who is an espresso lover, swears by the ones they make.

They also serve some great sandwiches. I can easily recommend salami and brie baguette and BLT which are priced at around £3.50. They also have a scheme (throughout the year I guess) - buy 6 coffees and get 1 free.

Was in dire need of a decent coffee and somewhere to use my laptop. After wandering around for a while I found TAP coffee and wandered straight in. Artisan coffee, lovely pastries and a rustic setting was just needed. The flat white I had was absolutely on the money. The staff were welcoming as we're the hipster clientele. Saved to my favorites next time I'm in the area.

Very nice place to have quality coffee. Staff were also nice. Buy 6, get 1 free is also promising. Would definitely go there again. Not a lot of seating. Around 3 - 4 pounds a coffee.

Outside the shop readers a chalk board saying Better Coffee and how right it is. The coffee here is amazing they have on average 3 different filter choices either by the cup starting at £2.75-£3.75 depending on which one you choose. All year around they offer a homemade cold brew which is very nice but a little pricey at £3.50 for a small bottle.

Great coffee, careful barristers and a decent selection of snacks. A few tables to sit at and a really nice bench seating area. Recommended!

Consistent and good coffee. Beans used are more on the lighter side but well balanced.

Small cafe with good price and ambience. It might be better for you to take away the coffee since the space is quite small. There are hardly any empty seats left whenever you visit the cafe..you’d have to wait in a couch until someone empties his seat. But still, it is worth a visit. Coffee tastes nice(i chose latte👍) and it is the atmosphere of the place that attracts people!

Some of the better coffee shop pastries I've encountered in London, and a relaxed atmosphere conducive to reading and sipping. Friendly staff, very hipster, and a cozy space. My cappuccino, however, wasn't quite made properly. I received something closer to a latte. The flavor was good, it just was not a cappuccino.

I must first preface this review with - I am not a coffee drinker - and as this is a coffee shop my review could be skewed. Firstly, the cakes were excellent - beautifully moist and melt in your mouth. I had a delightful hot chocolate and my fellow guests tried every coffee on the menu - and were all declared to be superb. I'm duly informed however that the Kenyan coffee had a slight edge over the others. The atmosphere was warm and friendly - with a host of board games downstairs if the conversation dries up. My favourite part about the visit was the free cakes the lovely waitress gave us as they were closing up the shop. 4/5 (would rate a 5 if I drank coffee!)
