The best place in the neighbourhood to get a good solid meal. Just because it is the best doesn’t mean it is very good.
The English Breakfast was too salty and not all parts were good. The burger was much better, but also far from the best burger in London.
Very convenient and nice online ordering system.
Dog friendly.
They made our special day even more special. We decided to host our wedding reception in the Guards House. All staff were incredibly supportive throughout the whole preparation process. Manager Peter made sure everything was organised exactly as we wanted. On the big day the staff went above and beyond to help us with the day and evening. Available from the first minute to the last minute. I have never experienced better service in any other venue or restaurant. The staff made sure that our vegan and vegetarian guests were fully fed through the day with suitable selection.
Thank you for every member of staff !!!

I recently visited Guard House Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The overall quality of the food, especially the full English breakfast, was absolutely perfect. Each individual ingredients were cooked to perfection. There is something different in their full english compared to the other ones I’ve tried from other establishments. I recommend everyone to try.
One aspect that also stood out to me was the ambiance outside the restaurant. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, providing a serene environment to enjoy a meal.
On arrival the front door was closed and it wasn't clear that the side terrace door was the way in. The pub was clean and the staff were inviting enough after we entered. The brunch menu was very tempting, my partner opting for the vegan option and myself pancakes. The vegan fry up was appealing and delicious however the pancakes left a lot to be desired, being raw batter on the inside and a touch over cooked on the outside. So quite disappointing.
Nice pub, great private function area.
Toilets and the corridor were quite smelly though....
Really good fish and chips and tasty mystery peas.
Came here for Sunday roast, I had the beef, food was delicious and not overcooked. Generous portion. Seats were comfortable.
The only let down was that the tables were not cleaned properly.
Overall, good experience and would love to come back.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND - Exquisite food, coffee was perfect and the view/ venue has great character and bright modern windows. the food and coffee is very reasonably priced! Surprisingly it is also a pub, I will be returning regularly.
We came here for breakfast, we sat out on their nice decking area in the sun, there is also an umbrella for shade. Inside is just as nice if not better.
While the restaurant is close to a busy main road and outside the Elizabeth line, it's positioned perfectly, the noise is only heard outside and is quite pleasant as background sound while enjoying food and talking with company.
The pedestrians walking around to and from the station, Thames cycle path and Woolwich museums provide a very nice atmosphere.
The breakfast was cooked perfectly especially the eggs, poached perfectly. The sausage / bacon meat was high quality and very tasty alongside the fresh sourdough. The mushroom/ peppers were a breath of fresh air in a full English, only note was they weren't seasoned or seasoned fully, however with salt and pepper grinders on my table I seasoned them to my preference which I greatly appreciate.
Both the staff rob, supervisor and the general manager ray came to check we were enjoying our food which is always nice to hear!
Just moved near here so I will be a returning customer!
Also the bathroom was very nice!
The coffee bean is fresh and chocolaty, although the roast is a bit too dark for me. The coffee crema on the americano is thick and creamy, as you can see from the photo. Cozy outdoor and friendly service.
I think I just had the best English breakfast ever! Simple and traditional but each part of it was cooked with care. Really loved the mushrooms, which are usually the things I like least about an English breakfast.
I would have shown the before picture, but I was too busy enjoying every bite!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff, I'll be back!
Pretty good place-quite quiet when I went but that was nice. The food was absolutely amazing, although the coffee I was given was pretty tepid/not very warm and took almost as long as the food to come. I would still recommend this place though.
Food was good. Roger said meat was tough but gravy made the meal. Pasta delish. However, they had run out of certain ingredients for both a cocktail and a dish we'd ordered. Also, let the patrons know they have an option to see a paper menu. We shouldn't have to sign up with email and phone number via QR code just to order a drink. Silly business. Server was terrific.
What an amazing team, our event went down a real treat. Thank you to the staff especially Pete, and the behind the scenes individuals who all pulled together to make it one hell of a night. Along with such a unique venue, the Guard House has a recipe to please, great staff, food and hospitality.
Recommend highly for your next event.
This place oozes class and sophistication, whilst also having that warm relaxing homely feel. A truly remarkable mix of classic and modern styles interior and exterior. Each room within the Guardhouse have different styles so you are sure to find the one right for you and your group. Situated in the historic Royal arsenal with the Thames River just a couple of minutes walk away.
I ordered brunch on my visit there which was very tasty and well presented, but the menu is definitely geared towards customers who love meat. It had very limited vegetarian/vegan options.
The staff seemed friendly and the service was fast but as you can see I went at a very quiet time of day.
Will definitely be going back here and will update this should I see any changes.
Positives - design and style, indoor and terrace dining, the selection of different spaces, Clean and well presented, location Close to the river and transport links. Great for meeting friends and work colleagues for relaxing or meetings.
Negatives - vegetarian / vegan food is limited.
We were a group of 4 who came in on a Sunday at 11am to have breakfast and had the pleasure of being served by Suki. She was friendly, had a sense of humour and was attentive. The food was delicious as well! We will definitely be back and highly recommend!
I had my wedding lunch/dinner there. We ordered champagne, starters (they were huge) and main meal (really big). They offer children's menu too. Everything was delicious and the staff was very nice. My wedding guests, my husband and I were really happy.
Came in with a group of friends for the Wednesday pub quiz, and we had a great night! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming and the quiz was great fun. Staff were friendly, the service was great and very quick considering it was busy.
Would definitely recommend!
Stopped off for a few pints on my home. Nice place, prices are what you would normally expect to be. What food was serviced to other customers did look nice.
