If you want to try the fusion of thai and Indian, try this place. Their Dal/currey and lamb are too good.. Do not forgot to try the Chutney they provide with Samosa.
I am quite a regular visitor of this place whenever i am in London.. Not all food here taste that good, but I know what to order here and they are best in that..

Only issue here is seating not good and too much of rush during lunch time..

After hearing great stories about this hidden gem and its long lunchtime queues, one friday afternoon I decided it was about time I discovered what this place had to offer.

I was expecting a full house at the restaurant with huge queues so it was quite a surprise when the place wasn't as busy, especially for the takeaway. But then again, I visited the place at 1.30ish so might have just missed the rush.

To keep things nice and simple, the main courses are all priced at £5. I chose the Matsaman beef curry with a garnish of carrots. The beef was lovely however felt that the carrots garnish spoilt the overall taste so perhaps that wasnt a wise choice. However, portions are very generous. The staff/owners offer a friendly and quick service.

Overall, Mama Thai offers good value of money therefore I am sure I will be back to try their chicken curry soon which is apparently their most popular option.

Both the Thai chicken and beef massaman were pleasant. I’d expected the Thai chicken to be spicier but it was – while nice enough – quite bland, and heavily coated in fresh coriander. Both dishes seemed lacking in a certain depth of flavour and spices. The portion was huge and I found these meat dishes overly filling (too much for me at lunctime, and I’ll adapt accordingly next time).

Was recommended this place by my local cousin. Walked in at about noon yesterday and was a bit wary as there was no one else there and it was small and not very done-up inside. The owner (I think... older man) explained all the dishes they had that day. Basically you get rice and then add your curries or dhal etc. They ask you if the rice is sufficient before piling on curries. So there were two of us and we got: Me- rice, dhal, spinach and potato dish, spicy lamb curry, poppadum Man- rice, cauliflower stir fry, coconut beef, chilli chicken, poppadum The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Just like mum's cooking. Insanely good. I had a ginger beer n the man had green tea. We also had some free onion salad. Man also had a second serving of rice and coconut beef. My cousin popped in and had a hot tea. In all, it came up to about £17. Excellent value. At the end of the meal, you take your plate to a bin n clear off any leftovers yourself and put your plate away. So impressed that man booked lunch for ten people this afternoon, his leaving lunch will be held there. Full capacity is only about 15-20 pax as it's a small space. From 12pm, the place got packed.

Best food in London. The staff is so damn nice and the food is just incredible. Ask them what you should get and they'll hook you up!

Not your usual Thai, I think the owners describe it as a fusion of Indian and Thai cuisine. Anyway, the food is delicious and price is low with £5 for a meat curry, £4 for vegetarian. Don't usually go for veggie options, but don't mind going veggie here because it's so good.

Stopped in for a quick lunch after walking around the neighborhood and couldn't have been more delighted. It's a low-key joint with a very local vibe (read: no frills), but that's exactly what I loved. Fantastic food, lovely people, and easy. Wouldn't hesitate about going back the next time we're here.

Probably the best curries... in the world... ever. Mama Thai do the most amazing home cooked curries. Thai-Indian fusion food that isn't too sugary like most Thai curries. The veggie ones are outta this world- pumpkin, chic pea, spinach, Okra, Aubergine, Lentil- they've got it all. You choose which ones take your fancy and they fill it right up to the top. Hugely filling and fantastic value served by the smiliest family. Don't be deceived by the exterior, this place is amazing.

OMG such delicious curries and for a good price! It's a pretty basic place but don't let that fool you as the food tastes like it is definitely made with love (and a lot of spices). Contrary to what the name of the restaurant suggests, this place serves mainly Indian-style curries.

Awesome fresh food. Great curries, meat and veg. Simple pricing. Owner is a real charmer. Very low key and no frills. Recommend as best Thai food had in UK

Stumbled upon this place by chance, but my god is it a hidden gem. This may not be Thai food, but indeed more Indian like others have said. Not that it matters much, as the food is extremely delicious (tried the lamb curry), people are friendly and the prices are very reasonable (5£ for a veggie curry and 6£ for one with meat). My new favourite go-to place for lunch :)

Great food, big portions, friendly service. Lots of choice and good prices. Take away or wait for one of the limited seats. Decent vegetarian options. Some dishes are very spicy.

Great selection of simple fusion curries (Thai/Indian). You certainly can't fault the £5 price or size of the portions hence huge queues out the door every lunchtime. Very limited seating, and where there is a space, it is elbow to elbow.
