Its surprising to find such a good Chinese restaurant in the middle of an industrial park in Battersea, and hidden at the back of a hotel. But Red Pocket is definitely one of the best in London.
The food is creative, with influences from across asia but staying true to the great taste and flavours of Chinese cuisine. The xiao long bao is a must order - 7 different colours, all from natural colouring ingredients, and just the juiciest and tastiest filling inside. It beats most other xiao long baos in London, even the ones from Min Jiang or Yauautcha.
Prices are a bit steep for the location, and bordering on the prices you'll pay for Michelin star food. But the dishes at Red Pocket are near that quality, and this is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in South West London, and within top 10 in the whole of London.
Plus, there's the added bonus of being able to watch helicopters take off and land. As well as some celebrity spotting! Truly unique experience.
This exclusive Chinese restaurant is found in the boutique Hotel Verta, South of the River Thames in Battersea. Offering panoramic views of the river with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outside seating area, this venue is a true hidden gem. The fine delicacy Abalone is also available with advanced notice.
