Whisky tasting experience for my husband. We had a great afternoon with Jacek. He shared so much information about the different types of whisky. The origins, how to taste whisky, how it is paired with soft and hard cheeses and with chocolate. Something I did not know. What a lovely and humorous person Jacek was (seriously). The food was delicious, the short ribs, the giant prawn, the fries and chicken bao bun was delicious 😋. Would definitely come back.

Gin tasting was booked as a gift from family! Learnt from Jacek about the history of gin and how different types/brands are made. An incredibly knowledgable man who didn’t rush us through our 2 hour experience. We had a super time. Sampled 3 different gins, all both neat and with tonics. Atmosphere, service and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend!

Last time I was in Rubens Hotel? Donkeys. We were desperate for somewhere air-conditioned, dark - with seats - and alcoholic refreshment. The 3 of us were eventually allowed to muscle in on Rodney from California, sitting alone with 3 places surrounding him, who was quite happy to be overwhelmed with our company. The waiter, howeverwas not very happy with this arrangement as, y'know, the Hotel's reputation needed to be considered. Jeesh, man, when a woman is hot and bothered and is desperate for ice cold water and a Pina Colada, the LAST thing on her mind is seduction. As if. Especially with 3 of us. We all had a great time and Rodney thoroughly enjoyed our very non-professional company. And we, his. I agreed with his wife ( absent at the time) that the Pina was the best ever. We also had a bon bouche on the house and t'was excellent. All in all, a saving grace from the heatwave and noise from Victoria. Bliss.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for my birthday and had the best cocktail experience ever with Matt who created our cocktails to suit our taste. With this we received the best tasting nibbles to go with it. Absolutely fantastic, thank you Matt. Would also like to give a thanks to the waiter in the bar Frank, great service.

I booked in for the Cocktail Masterclass. I was surprised that the class went ahead as I was the only one registered for this particular time slot. It was an excellent session. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and personable; and I enjoyed a classic cocktail and a bespoke cocktail as part of the experience. I’ve enjoyed a few lovely cocktails and great conversations on other occasions during my stay at the Rubens. The bar / wait staff have all provided service to the highest standards.

My wife and daughtet ordered drinks before I sat down, no one actually acknowleded us and my wife had to get attention, just been to mens room so I was not ready at that time. The waiter came back I ordered a bottle of beer. I waited about 15mins and went to the bar to find out where it was. A waitress brought it over straight away. Apart from that the experiance in the dining room was fantastic Staff was great

Wow!!! What a fantastic find. It was the Thursday before Coronation. I popped over to London for a day of wandering, walking the streets that would soon be crowded as a new king was crowned. I was walking to catch a coach back to Oxford. The sun had set and then I heard music coming out of a building. I walked into this magnificent bar. Which as it turns out is part of the hotel. I loved it. My husband told me to get a room and stay the night. I was happy to sit, have a cocktail, listen to music and eat a sweet delicious dessert. Look at these pictures. Wow!! I caught a later coach and arrived back in Oxford after midnight. This little detour was worth it. I will be back with my husband. The service was warm and friendly. I loved watching the patrons ALL laughing, chatting and having a good time. The dessert gets an A++ for flavor & creative presentation. Thank you 😊.
