Best cafe in the area: the coffee is great, the service is friendly - the staff can't do enough for you, the food is glorious and the atmosphere is relaxed. I recommend this place to everyone I meet. I urge you, GO!

I live in the area and have tried most of the independent cafes in Stokey - this is by far my favourite! Food, desserts and smoothies are so good and the manager/staff are genuinely friendly and seem to care about their customers. Cosy too plus free wifi :)
Seriously. They are the best! I haven't had anything La Duchesse that I didn't like. Everything is delicious. Merci pour vos plats.

Best place for desert in stokey! I’ve always walked passed it and never had the time to pop in and try until the last couple of weeks and the baked cheese cake is definitely one of my faves so far! I also tried the vegan dessert (orange slice pictures) out of curiosity. Definitely coming back.
On Friday 9th June, my friend and I went to the patisserie to get local businesses involved in a local community event being planned. We had a hopefully successful conversation.
But my eyes kept turning to the wide variety of dishes. First we ordered orange juice, then decided to have lunch and then also had desserts to top it off.
The staff were very friendly and professional.
My friend and I both enjoyed our spontaneous lunch.
The weather was beautiful and we sat outside loving the hussle and bussle.
I'm looking forward to going to La Duchesse soon. The perfect weather to have fresh orange juice.

They caught me with their cakes in their window. I am sure, if you see my first picture you want one slice, just like me…
… but if you go inside, I am sure you want spend time there too, just like me. What you find, that is not expected from the outside of the view. That is cozy. … and what you can eat or / and drink that is just the top of it. I cannot show you the taste of my meal just present it in my pictures. Use your imagination. … or just go and try it for real.
I liked their menu, especially that part where it is telling ‘… as you like them.’

I ordered shakshuka and a normal tea. The shakshuka was really nice and it comes with fresh buttered bread. I couldn't even finish the entire portion and this was my Sunday breakfast so I was quite hungry. The tea was tasty too.
However, I didn't see any customer toilet facilities so I'm not sure if they have. Also some advise is to order hot drinks later on as my tea became warm and not hot. That said I'm planning to go again and try the other food items there and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Lovely little place selling my absolute favourite vegan cheesecake 😋 which sadly is often out of stock due to its popularity. They also sell non vegan food (majority of) so everyone can find something delicious to eat. Very good, friendly service.
Halal (HMC supplied) brunch place with a rustic feel and ample seating. If you can grab a spot next to the open fire, all the better! Friendly service and very reasonable prices. Overall a great place for a quick coffee or something a little more substantial.
A nice cosy cafe with a rustic look. Their coffee is amazing and the breakfast menu is very good. They also serve cakes and pastries and other deserts. Friendly staff very welcoming.

La Duchesse is a fantastic spot for brunch or breakfast, and I highly recommend it. I recently had the pleasure of trying their eggs hollandaise, shakshuka, and omelette, and all three dishes were absolutely delicious.
The eggs hollandaise were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, with a rich and creamy hollandaise sauce that was the perfect complement to the eggs. Delicious fresh cakes! Managed to grab a few of the remaining slices before closure not knowing if they were good... And got a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back in the future. The guy serving is was lovely too
