I have started to go there pre or post an Arsenal home game. Good atmosphere and great staff. It must be tough when you go from empty to packed out within a few minutes of the final whistle but that doesn’t seem to alter the good mood of the staff. I always feel welcome.
If you want to eat in the restaurant section on a match day I recommend booking early.
The best chicken roast I have had in London! Credit to the chef. Excellent service from the staff too
The Duchess of Kent is a great local pub. It has been recently renovated and has sophisticated, classy look. This place is especially popular with arsenal fans, and gets really packed on a match days, so you should avoid it on those days unless you're there to celebrate.
They have a fairly varied menu with a pretty standard gastro pub selection. There are some good sharing dishes and they always have Sunday roasts. It's always good for a quick bite to eat with friends and for drinks on the weekend.
For a pub I felt that their prices were pretty high, but overall I enjoy coming here, there is a nice atmosphere and good service.
A favourite for the more classy Arsenal supporter before a game, but in its everyday format this is a lovely little hidden gem in Islington. Great for families and to cuddle up on the lounge with a drink in the winter. The decor is homely, the staff extremely friendly, and the Sunday roast a reasonably priced success. All in all, the perfect local!
Love the duchess! We were just here for a booking of 15 for the rugby World Cup and had great service! The staff are lovely, the food is yum and the drinks come fast! Thanks so much!
Came for a few drinks. The pub’s located in a very nice area and the atmosphere is really cozy. Staff was very welcoming. Drinks were served up to the standard and the food is simply finger licking. I had squash arancini and mac n’ cheese and it was sooo good. They’re also showing football which is always plus points. Overall a great experience and I’ll be definitely coming back.
The Duchess of Kent. A fine late Georgian corner pub. Brilliant service from the staff and great beer from cask and keg. A fine place to visit.
I went for pie night and ate all the pies!!! Jk I just had the fish pie but it was DIVINE. Nice cosy pub right by the station - which was only after Google Maps told us to walk 20 minutes in the opposite direction to a pub of the same name that no longer exists.
Its a lovely local pub where you can eat great food and watch the football, if you want. Really nice place I would highly recommmend
The food was amazing. The staff are kind and friendly. We had to wait a little longer than we would have liked, but it was match day!
A lovely and relaxed setting for a leisurely dinner (Sunday roast). The staff were friendly, the food was hugely generous and very tasty. Good selection of drinks.
