I've been quite wary of café-bakery hybrids in the last few months due to not so pleasant experiences I've had in the past. Situated just past the busy Prince of Wales junction, I had been somewhat eager to try this place out as I always pass by it when I'm walking to and from work. My first impressions of the place were pretty good; the inside was nicely furbished, the decor was decent and it was a very comfortable experience overall.

I ordered the traditional English breakfast, and bearing in mind that I wasn't expecting too much, I found that the food was pretty darn good. Everything was cooked and seasoned and I found it to be the most satisfying breakfast I'd had in a long time (although to be fair, my prior breakfasts only really consisted of toast). I returned multiple times to order sandwiches for my lunch and again, I thoroughly enjoyed them, particularly the spicy Mexican chicken.

With the café aspect in check, I wanted to see how their cakes matched up. Again, I was pleasantly surprised; the chocolate cake and gâteau were especially delightful, very rich in flavour and wonderfully decorated. The place also offered customisation options for celebratory cakes such as adding names which I found to be a nice touch.

Now of course with every establishment, nothing is perfect and in this case, I found that the cakes and pastries were slightly overpriced in smaller quantities. I found that the larger cakes were a lot more reasonable in price, but if you're just there for a small slice, expect to pay a larger sum. 

Overall however, whilst this place is hardly fine dining, it's a nice place to grab a quick bite of breakfast or a decent sandwich for your lunch break especially if you're working or living locally. The cakes are nice, but one could argue whether or not they are worth the price.

We have ordered cakes from here multiple times and they never disappoint - truly delicious and well made cakes plus excellent service. Highly recommended!

Ordered cake for my son birthday, got 2 of them, one chocolate and one vanilla flavour, been so so tasty, fresh and looked amazing.

I have been coming here for a while now and absolutely LOVE this place! I popped in today to buy some post iftar dessert for friends and they are currently selling some delicious sweets for Ramadan, some of the best baklawa I’ve ever had. The ladies working here are so beautiful, generous and friendly. I usually buy the pistachio milk cakes (sooo good!!). Will definitely remain a loyal customer with nothing but good things to say! I had the treat of experiencing one of their bespoke birthday cakes. Gorgeous butterfly shape with delicious cake and icing. So impressive I decided to order my daughter's cake from there as well.

Less is more! The saffron cake these man have is a problem! This place is a bit of a distance from my house so whenever I go there I feel like I’m a part time deliveroo employee because I return to the ends bearing gifts, I’m talking bank transfers are being done and postcodes are being sent before I make any purchases. The cake is a nice small size hence the title “less is more” but I’m telling you it gets the job done. Shouts out to these man!

Lovely Fresh Baked Biscuits & Cakes Whenever in the area it's great to pop in to grab some treats! This place really is "A jewel of the Harrow Road."
