Boxcar is a delightful spot to enjoy a relaxing latte with some of London's most delicious treats. The service is outstanding, especially considering how trafficked the location can get: the baristas will always smile at you and serve you right away.
I particularly recommend the Almond croissant, which really felt like a work of art: crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside, it was a delicacy to taste accompanied by a Matcha Latte!
Coffee was horrible ( taste, milk, temperature )
Pastries were exceptional ( pain au chocolat & cinnamon bun )
Waffle and smoked salmon wasn’t bad - same as the scramble eggs.
Service is impersonal and indifferent as you order from your phone.
Prices are ok for the area.
Plenty of space outside.
A lovely spot for brunch and/or coffee. Seating available inside our outside. Pet friendly. The breakfast is really tasty, good portions. The pastries are really good too, get there early if you want to try their famous croissants.
Boxcar's brunch is an absolute must-try if you are in the area! 🥐🍳☕️ It’s a bit busy during weekend, we had no trouble finding a table. The lattes were served in generously-sized cups and were absolutely delightful. 🥰 The croissant with egg and tomato, along with the avocado toast, were simply delicious. Recommended!
Croissant joy from @boxcarbaker in #marylebone
We tried the egg mayo and smoked salmon filled croissants and the plain, almond, matcha, cinnamon and the chocolate sweet options. All to take away.
All were fab; fully inside and crispy on the outside. Fav was definitely the almond croissant which had a crumbly cakey frangipane filling, crispy toasted almonds on top and was not too sweet.
The food is good. All of the pastries and coffees are a delight. I’ve had breakfast and lunch a few times there already.
I’ve noticed the service is not what it used to be. You can tell the employees have just way too much work for the amount of staff. I noticed a couple of times a waitress being scolded by another one (she was so angry) in a very unprofessional way, in front of everyone, making her and us uncomfortable. Looks like the employees are not being taken care of, or at least that’s my perspective.
Great spot for a weekend brunch. Plenty of people watching and great location. Lots of seating available. The breakfast offering is plenty and delicious. Matcha was a little bitter compared to other venues
Delicious pastries: cinnamon roll and pain au chocolat. Crunchy outside and soft fluffy inside. Good coffee (normal latte and oat milk flat white). Small place but beautifully decorated with lots of plants. Savoury croissant with scrambled eggs and bacon was also tasty.
Ohhhhhh ahhhhhh hmmm
Awesome pastry!
The croissants look like a big mushroom and they are divine!
We have also tried the salmon croissant, which was un unexpected combination, but a good one!
Pain au chocolat... We keep them for later. But I already can't wait!
Great coffee, a bit expensive but worth it! Beautiful pastries as well. A couple of gluten free/dairy free options.
Such a cute and cozy cafe for a Sunday morning/afternoon with friends or quality self time 😌
Didn’t get to try their famous pain au chocolat tho sadly they were sold out

I’m not a vegan but the chocolate vegan cookie in Boxcar is my favorite one to combine with my foamy cappuccino.
Scrambled eggs are also velvet and tasty !
Amazing environment and dog friendly
See you soon

This place was super busy when we arrived on a weekday morning. With casual upstairs and downstairs seating. The pastries look unique here. I had a pain au Chocolat which was okay plus a almond croissant. I recommend the eggs with croissant roll which were tasty.
They steam their milk beautifully, the chocolate croissant was gorgeous, and my avocado toast was so fresh. Great service, great atmosphere, food came out quickly although it was rather busy. It was a great solo spot for a solo traveler!
Lovely like bakery in Marylebone that fills up as soon as it opens for the day (so get there’s early or be prepared to get a takeaway). The vibe and decor is very earthy and warm, which I loved.
I ordered a cappuccino and a pain au chocolate. The pastry comes in a unique muffin like shape and if quite nice (better if it’s warm). This is a sweet spot to get a bite to eat.
Update from a second trip: The food here is really quite good. The croissants melt in your mouth and is incredibly flaky — they also come in unique shapes. The scrambled eggs were really good too and somehow also creamy without any actual cream in them! They have quite a few vegetarian options, which is always a plus.
Very busy morning and afternoon here but the scrambled eggs with a sourdough bread is worth the wait
Service is kind of slow and I had to ask for my order more than 4 times
Overpriced
Nice seating inside and outside
Coffee isn’t that good ( flat white )
They need to work on their staff not because the food is great
A very nice café with nice but not too over the top decor, good for work and hang with friends. I have a matcha latte (ordered charcoal latte but they don’t have it), a banana cake and a almond croissant, it was my first meal after a long haul flight, the food is wonderful, banana bread is soft, and a big shout out to the almond croissant, it is so contented even with shredded coconut inside. I’m so satisfied.
Such a cute cozy place in marylebone, good place for a quick lunch stop before catching our train. Would recommend the cinnamon roll over the almond croissant. Almond croissant felt a little cakey on the top. Tried the minestrone soup of the day as well as their chicken Caesar sandwich. Highlight was the cinnamon roll and the decorations. Would like to try their brunch or more of the pastries next time.
Came here on a Thursday morning for breakfast just before heading into work. I got here around 8:30am and it was already so busy and full of people.
I specifically came here to try the signature pain au chocolat that's been so popular on Instagram and Tik Tok so I ordered that as well as a cappuccino. The lamination, as you can see in the photos was very delicate and I absolutely loved the shape which was so artistic and pretty. Texture wise, it was flaky but wasn't enough for me. Taste wise, it's a good amount of sweetness so it's not overwhelming. I just didn't think it was totally worth the kind of hype I am seeing on socials. Coffee though, on the other hand, was great - strong and smooth taste.
Service overall was pretty decent with friendly staff. I loved the vibe the place had and I would be happy to come back again and try their savoury breakfast menu.
