Birley's Sandwiches

Great sandwiches, something different from the chain restaurants. Salt beef was good, if they had different bread options it would have been perfect. Queue is quite long if you come around lunch time. Prices are reasonable, portion size is about average, little seating area in the corner. Worth giving a go.

Actually good despite reviews! Great lunch location around Canary Wharf I’m not sure why Birleys has such bad reviews, but it’s good value (£7.95) for a big sandwich, with plenty of options (Salt beef, Pork belly, Turkey, etc) You get to choose white or brown bread, + toppings. Then make it infront of you and the portions are never disappointing.

Have breakfast, have lunch, great sandwiches, great soup. Salt beef brisket, roast beef, turkey, pastrami, pork belly. I love their concept of sandwiches, they always deliver the same quality and taste. You can choose from multiple meat varities, type of bread(white,brown etc.)and sauce(mayo, apple, mustard..) Then you watch it being prepared and just sit and enjoy it. One thing you should keep in mind, what you can have in one store, may not be served in the other one due to limited space, capacity etc. It is a treat every time you visit.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches! Had "The Cuban" and it is some of the best pork I have ever had. If you like sandwiches and love meat, this is the perfect place for food! I wish they had a breadless option but I guess it would be weird if they just gave you a pile of meat (which is absolutely what I am after).

Just ordered ahead using the Ritual app on my phone, same as last week - this is amazing, they make a gorgeous bacon sandwich and read my note about taking the fat off the bacon. They serve really lovely coffee too, and they're a nice bunch - feel sorry for them though because they get extremely busy. They work hard, they're professional and polite and you can see why they're so busy; the food is lovely.
