Sunday morning had a lovely breakkie with a friend. Quick service and quiet with a warm atmosphere, sat next to the window but not cooler than other areas at all. Enjoyed the smashed avocado with a chai latte. Would come again.

Absolutely amazing cafe that I just happened to wander into this morning on my walk from Waterloo station to a meeting. I stopped for a quick coffee but I didn’t want to leave! The ambience is just magical and my latte was delicious, but I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy the fireplace. Looking forward to returning - you will understand my joy when you walk in, it’s just out of a wonderful dream. Thank you Garden Shack Hideaway for making my day!!!

I really loved this place! I liked the vibe, very casual and relaxed. The portions are pretty big too - I had smashed avocado on toast with halloumi and eggs, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I'd absolutelt recommend it, and I'll be coming back when I happen to be in Waterloo again.

We loved this place. Their grilled ham and cheese sandwich may be the best I have ever had. Went twice during our stay in London. Everyone who joined us was equally impressed. The service was very friendly. The place was lovely. If you're looking for a quick brunch or lunch, I think it is a great choice.

Comfy place but the plants desperately REQUIRE watering- they all dying. Staff are aware when told but no solution was given- just replied"you should see the other side"...

Garden Shack serves up English caff food in a quirky setting. The decor includes graffiti, fireplaces, sofas and a cocktail bar alongisde benches and tables. The service is friendly, efficient and accomodating. The food menu includes breakfast dishes, jacket potatoes, pizza, sandwiches and smooties served in large portion sizes. While the food is not a culinary masterpiece it is freshly made and good value for money. Case in point for £7.50 you can get Breakfast in a Bun (eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and mushrooms). At Black Penny an eatery down the road you get an equivalent for £9.90. If you are in the Waterloo area and looking for a relaxed, friendly eatery that is very well priced Garden Shack is your spot. Keep in mind opening hours are 6.45AM to 3.00PM.

This is an absolute hidden gem at the heart of the city! Beautiful atmosphere - love all the plants, lights and artsy touches; excellent music choice (some hits from the 50s and 60s were playing when we went there today) and great chocolate cake + coffee! The only thing is that there isn't a big choice of sweet treats to go with that beautiful cup of coffee they make BUT the chocolate cake was amazing, so quality over quantity :-) All in all, a really chilled, homey place and an escape from the hustle and bustle outside on the street. Very close to Southbank and London Eye, too...
