I have been going to this place for years. It is open all hours so no matter what time you leave a bar or pub locally, your hunger pains can be sorted quite quickly here. Having not been here for a while, it was nice to pop in after a reunion drinks nearby. Everything was as it was. Quick staff, quick good food and an added bonus of it being on tastecard 2 for 1. A bargain to be had there. As well as the normal noodles, aromatic duck and sweet/sour dishes, i discovered they have dim sum which i was really craving. We had a lot of different dishes with beef, chicken etc. On the dim sum basket i was impressed, but i would not go for the pork and prawn dumplings again. They tasted tough and pretty much like they had been hanging around for a while. The fatty gristle bits were not cool either. Such a shame really as everything else was perfect as i remembered it being. Will still go again, will just remember to stick to what i know.
Oh man, the happiness... I visit London once a year and always eat here! We were a table of five, and were placed around a small round table, tucked in a little enclave in the wall in the downstairs section. At first impression, I couldn't believe where we were being seated. But it turned out quite well since it was like being in a private room. We ordered a banquet of dishes: roast duck, honey roasted pork, crispy pork belly, spicy noodle something, garlic veggies and even more, I can't even remember! And rice. Obvious... All my guests were properly happy and stuffed once we were done! And best of all, they allowed us to sit and continue chatting even though we weren't ordering any more. I'll be back soon!
Decent West End meal. I paid my second visit to the New Mayflower recently with a friend. Whilst I would never describe the food as amazing, it's Chinese of a good standard that's reasonably priced. The restaurant also seems to be very popular with the Chinese community which is normally a good sign. I wouldn't say the service is great, it's quite abrupt and to the point, but you generally get your food quick and the place seems to be clean etc. The decor is very basic and probably dated, but that's not what I'd be coming here for anyway. If you're looking for a Chinese in China Town/The West End to maybe accompany a few beers and a catch up with a friend I'd describe this as the ideal place.
Pretty good, recommend the salt & chilli tofu and the honey roast ribs. Reasonably priced too.

Mayflower is still one of those old favourite's that is so worth visiting for a good Chinese (Cantonese) meal.
I’m not a big fan of restaurants in Chinatown as I feel there are a few too many tourist traps mixed in which survive because there is a sucker coming around the corner every day. As always, there are exceptions to this “rule” and Mayflower proves to be t
This one is gaining abit of a reputation. When it gets busy the staff are almost as rude as four seasons. Is it good? Yeah it’s not bad for dinner, is it the top of my list? No, but its worth a look.
The starter was good and main we had, which was the,Turbot was absolute stunning. The staff were lovely and accommodating too. Would definitely visit again and recommend it.
Could go easy on the salt. Got the set meal for two that includes four dishes and fried rice with egg. The three dishes are shredded duck wrap, fried beef strips, mixed vegetables and fried chicken with black bean sauce and peppers. Portions wise, enough for three.
Had Peking duck and some other dishes before going to a musical. The Peking duck was excellent, I lived in China for 6 years and this was so good!
Nice restaurant with lots of different sea food 🍲. Awesome crab 🦀 menu list
The food is authentic and delicious. The portions are a bit small for what you're paying but the food is well done. This restaurant is unpretentious and you can just expect good authentic food. However, it could be a little unusual for those not accustomed to the knacks of the restaurant. Staff are not particularly "friendly" or attentive in typical Western standards but they are efficient and food arrives in a timely manner and hot. It's also best to eat family style because that's typically what is done.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would return.
Food is still good, even after the change of management. They don't give you the usual salted peanuts when you are at the table but their crab dish is still awesome as ever.
If you're a crab lover and love Chinese food. Definitely come here.
Also take note, if you do have vouchers, they will not accept it on Fridays.
Excellent value for money and speedy service! They have been offering 15% off dim sum 12-5pm so an average lunch would only cost £10. Bargain! They've got more seats in the basement but I recommend sitting upstairs which is more spacious and less noisy. A huge selection on both their lunch and dinner menus and I'm amazed by how they manage to keep up with the speed!
This place is the go to place for big plates of food, seafood, and free desserts with fruits complimentary with your meal!!!
They only do dinner business now but there was a period where they tried touting for lunch dim sum. Favourites of my friends to order are fish, lobster with noodles, they even order clams, and of course roast duck!
Other friends had bad service experience but I've had more decent ones than not, plus last time I came here we literally sat there for 4 hours chatting and noone tried to kick us out! Service was top notch with frequent tea refills and clearing of plates. It might have been because one of our friends seem to be a good friend of the manager's but we won't go into that!
Be that as it may, you will have decent food offerings here!
Only word of caution is to be careful of the steps when you go downstairs to go to the toilets. I've tripped a few times and last time saw a lady tumble down the stairs! Not good!
Lovely food and great value! This restaurant has been consistently good through the years, which keeps us coming back. You do have to ignore some "inventive" maintenance of the bathrooms... but that's a minor issue.

Me and my wife were out and about looking to try something new and New Mayflower seemed reasonable.
Food was brilliant and wasn't waiting long for it to come to the table.
Price was acceptable except for the service charge, not really sure what service I received except being seated, taking my order and taking my money.
Staff were all friendly, venue was clean and welcoming.
Like most restaurants in Chinatown, tables are a bit cramped. However food is excellent. Nice steamed fish and lovely fried rice. You even get free fruit and dessert at the end. What's not to like?
