1947 Restaurant & Bar - London - Photo album

In London one of the most popular cuisines is Indian cuisine, and under the advice of two of my friends who have spent part of their lives in London, we tried Indian food. Nice restaurant, spicy and tasty food for a normal price. Friendly staff and standard service.
1947 is Great Authentic Indian Restaurant. It beats gentrified chain restaurants like Dishoom or Masalchi that blands out food for the masses. Food here is exactly like an Indian restaurant should be with proper spices and real flavours. Offering meat based alternatives to well known dishes is de
Food was amazing! I have been here a few times and have never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly, the decor is great and the dishes are lush. Highly recommend it!
Very tasty freshly cooked pasta and curry - not tried the pizza yet. All vegetarian (mostly vegan). Will be visiting again tomorrow with my son.
Only point deduction as I have to wait a little longer than usual to get my main course. The food quality is good, with no added extra colors, and no extra cream to make food thick or tasty. We had hot and sour soup, dammn it was hot 🔥 and we enjoyed it. This is the best tomato soup my daughter had
Nice restaurant, the food was lovely. I was so full by the time i wanted to leave. The settings and lighting was perfect as well. The staff were polite and friendly. I'm taking out one star because i feel there's a lot more that can be done after the entrance, near the stairs area. It had a big mir
100% Indian taste, not like other restaurants in London serving anything in name of Indian food. 1) The couple who owns the restaurant are super polite, they genuinely care about giving a great experience. 2) Sitting arrangements are nice, comfy chairs, lots of lovely historic pictures. and the m
Really amazing and delishious food! The staff is very nice and welcoming. They have recommendations based on your taste and how spicy you want the food to be. The plant based chicken tastes exactly like real chicken. We had spicey Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer, both extremely delishious, well balanc
Great menu. Too much to choose from so we let the lady owner recommend and we were very happy with the choices! This is the place you should go to. I will certainly do when I’m back in London and in this area again!
Excellent authentic Indian food and very friendly service. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!!
We were looking for a decent fully vegetarian Indian restaurant in London. Our friend recommended 1947 and boy were they were right. Went for an Friday afternoon lunch and ate Bhel Puri, aloo tiki chat, veg Manchurian as apps. The veg Manchurian was heavenly. The roti was soft and just melted in the
What a lovely place! Food and service were top notch. Had it recently with a meat-eating mate who absolutely loved it. The vegetarian wife and I will be returning soon.
I have to say one of the best vegan spots I've been to in London. The flavour and taste of the food were incredible. I enjoyed every bite Service was equally excellent. The hostess was very friendly and made perfect suggestions. Will definitely recommend it, and I'll be returning to try more thing
Great food and service. Ate here on a whim as it was our first night in London. Staff was very helpful in helping us decide on what to have and how spicy we'd like the food. Great restaurant and would recommend
When in London EAT AT 1947. The best Indian food I’ve ever had. And I’m an Indian food fanatic! The flavors are INCREDIBLE. I ordered the crispy mushroom and ate one piece and I ordered 3 more orders right away. BURSTING in flavors and spices. The curry dishes are delicious, and go perfect with chil
Very good veggie Indian. Lots of choice and additionally we were asked how spicy we liked our food and it was adjusted accordingly. The dal makhani was delicious and the garlic naan reminded me why I always order one even though I'm often disappointed in what turns up. This was hot, scorched, cr
Had an amazing late dinner here on Friday. Such wonderful service, spicy but delicious food, and a great mango lassi!
It may seem crazy that the same restaurant can make both amazing Indian food AND great pizza, but it's true. If you're in a group I recommend sharing a paneer tikka pizza as a starter. Also the owners/staff here are so friendly. I've been here 4 times and will keep coming back for more.
The restaurant is getting 5 stars because of the lovely couple that own the place. They are polite, and you can tell that the service is very genuine. The man was very helpful in making my decision and very attentive to my order. On two different occasions, they each came to me to make sure I didn't
